hello i am located in toronto canada and for the past
4 months have been getting repeated calls from the following number.
I purchsed call display and find it strange that '1' for long distanceshows up on the local
416 number which i reside in.

These are the numbers that have been calling me repeatedly and either hanging up or fronting themselfs as
ROGERS cable, or some type of Windows/Doors company:

I have searched all these numbers and found all these phone nubmers are reportedly doing
the same thing to other people on the internet.

Research has indicated that there is some type of call center that calls people (such as us)
and once you pick up someone at their centre also picks up and trys to get some info or is
actually hired to sell a product /service. They seem to be doing  a poor job as many times
they hang up or dont speak, or get confused and just laugh then hangup.

This business/es need to be identified so that they can be stoped. I have gotten up to 6 calls a day
totalling 20-30 a week at random times of the day and evening. I've seen many posts on the internet
with people complaining and reporting online of this harassment but have yet to see anything done

WHATS THE NEXT STEP??

i have been receiving calls from the 1-416-188-8231 when i return the call it says "this is a wrong # pls check the # and dial again" this is a real bother....

This number has been calling a few times every day for the last few weeks.  As I don't recognize the number so I just let it go to voice mail.  Of course no message was left.  Yesterday when the call came in I finally picked it up - a girl (her voice sounds like she's still in high school) said she's calling from Rogers and she's promoting the movie network - she went on and on but this is pretty much all I could understand as she's obviously reading from a script and talking so fast that you could only hear every third word she said.  After telling her a few times that I'm not interested in the movie network then she hang up - I don't even remember she said thank you or goodbye - very unprofessional if you ask me.

When I have time I'm going to call Rogers and ask them to take me off (AGAIN) from their marketing call list.  I didn't do it yesterday because I know that unprofessional girl claimed to be calling from Rogers would just ignore my request.  It's probably what happened with my previous requests.

If any Rogers marketing executives see this comment, SHAME ON YOU!!!!  As a Rogers customer this waste of my time just pushed me to wanting to switch to BELL.

the calls from this number started about a week ago - every morning around 10:30, 11:45 and 1:30 in the afternoon. i haven't been home to answer it yet, but there is never a message and it rings long distance, even though it is a 416 area code. i will answer the next time they call

Feb. 28, 2008 Called twice within the span of 1 min - rang a couple of times than silent ... than rang again twice and done.

calls every day but no on is on line now thinking of purchaseing call block feature from telephone co.

contact Dillon at 2 the point global Marketing at 416-736-0699 and have him add you to their do not call list.

I decided to use my surfing name to protect my identity.  I also have been receiving numerous calls from this number with mainly hang ups.  Today I finally spoke to someone who represented themselves as a Rogers Cable rep offering incredible HD Channel deals.  I just told them that I already have every conceivable channel Rogers offers and they quickly thanked me and tried to end the call when I said, hold on, "what if I wanted to order one of their incredible deals; could we transact right away, of course they said YES, and thats when they would proceed to acquire your credit card info etc etc.  So Its an identify theft scam. If you find it annoying, just speak to them once, call there bluff and they wont bother you again or you can choose to live dangerously and buy something off them.

This number woke me up this morning, he said hello and asked for my name to my voicemail... kind of funny. I checked my call display he/she called every day this week sometimes in the morning sometimes just before 5pm. I'm going to give rogers a call to see if I can get myself removed from marketing as well.

phone number 416-188-8231 same thing calling 2-3 times a day no vm left and this is not a number that you can call back as its only for out going calls....definitely a telemarketer soooooooooooooooooo annoying.

Same problem, same number. I called a friend who's an exec with Rogers; after checking, he told me it's not their telemarketing and said it is a scam of some sort since Rogers never asks for credit card info on the phone unless.

I have received calls from 416-188-8231 several times this week.  Today they have called twice from that number and once from a blocked line.  The first day they called they asked to speak to my girlfriend (my Rogers account is in her name).  Since then they just leave dead air.  On the last call I told them I would call the police if they call here again, and that I could plainly see their number on call display.  I'm not certain if the police would actually do anything about this, but this might get them to screw off at least.

I have received cALL FROM 1416-188-8231 SEVERAL TIMES TODAY, I DO NOT WHAT CAN I DO WHEN CALL THIS NUMBER NO BODY ANSWER...

I've been receiving calls from this number roughly once a day over the past week.  They never leave a message, and when I pick up, it's just dead air for a few seconds, then they hang up. So annoying.

So what can be done about this number? How can can we stop these calls?

come chinese guy from this number just called me ..saying he's  from Rogers. I told him to stop calling but it hasn't worked in the past.

i seem to be on some phone calling list as this harassment has been happening for the past several months spaning since september 2007
there are also other phone numbers that are calling me with similar nonsense several times a day.

someone call the newspaper/tv station because something has to be done!!!

This number is my worst night mare. I work nights and am constantly being waken up by this number and they just hang up on me when I answer the phone! The operator won't help, Roger's tech support wont help, I am calling the police at this point. This number is harrasing me!

The calls from this number started on my unpublished home phone on October 22/2007. There was only music playing and nothing else. I am now getting at least one call per day. Apparently I can have a call blocking service from Rogers for $4/month. Often wonder if they are behind such annoying calls

I keep getting calls from this number about three times a day on my CELL PHONE! It is really annoying. No one ever answers or leaves a VM. I too have tried calling them back, however it says the number is not in service. Hope someone figures out how to stop these people from calling us.

I have also received a couple of calls a day for the last week from this number.  I tried to call the number and I get the message stating that my call can not be completed as dialed.

I've had daily calls from this numbef for over a week now. They never leave a voice mail message. Today, however, it appeared as if there was a message - I could hear talking in the background but clearly it wasn't directed at my voice mail message. The message went on for at least a minute then ended. I've tried calling the number back - there is no such number, and it doesn't seem to "exist" when I look it up on a "reverse phone look-up" site. It's very annoying!

I got two calls from that number.  They were an hour apart and they didn't leave a message.

Just got a call from that number.  No business or personal name listed online.  Didn't answer, no message left.

This number has been phoning me routinely, at least 3 times a day, for the last 2 weeks.

I just had someoneee ask for me by name and hang up. This was not automated.

This number has been calling me several times a day.  Very annoying.  I assume it's some automated telemarketer.
