At one time, they actually left a message in our voicemail - looking for "Mr. Zavorsky" (or whoever that was trying to reach that person) telling that a clothing donation pickup is requested. Of course, that person doesn't reside in our household and we have the telephone number that we had for almost 20 years.
A delivery truck came to knock our door - but left a note saying that "they were here for a clothing pickup - but no one wasn't home at the time". If they wanted to come back for a clothing donation pickup, they we have to telephone them.

They are desperate for clothing donations as they seem to call my home every 3-4 months with their seemingly unending extensions to avoid call-blocking, poss. to take advantage of seasonal changes when households may get rid of old/unwanted clothes. Clothing donation is a very lucrative business, as charities may not give these away to the disenfranchised, but SELL to other agencies, private enterprises, 3rd world (not as donation to the poor) consumers--> a Macleans, Newsweek or TIME (can't recall) magazine or major Canadian newspaper had done a piece on this--literally a multi-million dollar (or a-billion by now) venture! Below are thus far, all the #'s OFCP has used to telemarket households (they may/may not 'recycle' these #s):

Actually the CRTC can do something if they hang up on you and if you were added to their company DNCL. They should'nt call you back.

It is not nice of her to have hung up on you, however, charities are exempt from the DNCL rules.

Ontario Federation of Cerebal Palsey called us today with a slightly different number than a few months ago. I had asked them to put us on their DNCL last time. When I answered today and told the lady I should be on their list of people not to call she hung up on me! I'm going to let the CRTC know, https://www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca/plt-cmp-eng
