According to my phone's log, I missed an incoming call from 416-279-1365 at 13:48 on 2012.05.29.  This was the only call in the log around that time.  My voicemail received a message from this number at this time on this date.  It was a message from Yak's customer service in response to a request I made.  I am a Yak customer.

According to other comments posted here, some "pay your bill" calls came from this number.  If they owed money to Yak, then these calls were legitimate.  I always pay in advance, so I've never received one of those calls.

The number has called my cell phone repeatedly since the beginning of last week. The call is an auto responder telling me I have an overdue balance with Yak Communications, which in reality I have never heard of Yak Communications. When I don't answer, the message is left repeatedly on my voicemail. They literally call every f****ng day.

Yesterday and today my wife receives over 15 calls made within 2 hrs. from this number which is from Yak communication. All calls made with 10 minutes intervals (By law in Ontario no company can make that many calls in one day which it was for the money we owed them for amount of $28.00 which was past due only about 35 days, and in fact I had paid it last week, but they kept disturbing my family at home and Although I also cancelled my account with them last week by emailing them officially and in spite of it they kept bothering my family at home.
I have been using Yak for the last one year and I made long distance calls to overseas every week end, and I always paid these people, but few time they disconnected my call while I was talking to my relative back home, and I had to pay just $12.00 (so called past due amount)just to be able to call back again. I have paid these people over $600.00 always on time but they disrespect me and instead kept emailing me that I owe them money.
If you are askng me about this company I am very upset about them, and I will never use them anymore.

I received a call from 416-279-1365 at 2011.08.24 21:31.  I phoned the number back the following morning at 06:15.  A computer identified itself as Yak Communications.  My number is 519-404-xxxx, which is a cell phone.  I am a client of Yak Communications for long distance.  Effective tomorrow, I will also have their Internet and local telephone service.

Please note that it is possible to spoof a caller ID number.  If Yak doesn't admit to these calls, please remember that it is possible for anyone to place a call using anyone else's caller ID number.  I'm not saying they're innocent.  I'm just saying it's possible.

It would be good to hear from Yak on this topice!!!

For over a MONTH now this damn number has been calling CONTENTLY like 10 times a day...
no ones ever speeking on the other end..we have called it back and it says it doesnt exist. SO annoying... And so retarted!

This number is for Yak Communications. They are a telephone and, as of somewhat recently, an internet service provider. They are based primarily in the US but have been  branching out to other countries over the lase year our so. I live in Canada and my roommates and i have an account with them. We haven't missed payment on a bill, but they still call constantly. sometimes, there is someone on the other end, asking for my roommate (when he calls them back with the toll free number they give me, the say we are late on our payment, which we never are) but most of the time there's just a few seconds of silence after I answer than then a click like they hung up. I don't know why there are so many people also getting hang up calls who are not with Yak. If anyone can shed some more light on this, it would be much appreciated.

416-279-1365 has been calling me pretty heavily lately in Vancouver, BC on my Telus landline. I never answer and they never leave a msg

Has anyone had phone calls for this number show up on their phone bill? I have for like 112 minutes!!!

These people originally identified themselves as a duct cleaning company. They call constantly, even though we have told them we are not interested and not to call back.  They do anyway.  I threatened to report them for harassment.  No effect.  It's starting to creep me out.  Now that I realize there are others posted here, I start to wonder what exactly trheir game is.  Is it possible they are trying to determine when someone is home?  Or not?
I have spoken to people on these calls.  Is it possible they are trying to hack into computers through the phone lines?  Who knows, but it has goine way beyond aggravating.

They call my place like a million times a day (thankfully we have call id and are rarely home) but they keep asking for some name that i dont understand and then say that i am currently with bell (which im not) but im a renter so i dunno if that affects it, i just hang up on them, they must be selling something

They call me 2-3 times during the day, about the same times every day.. and theres never anyone there. Wait a few seconds and an automated person says "Im sorry, that is an incorrect extenion. Please try again"
So I hang up.

Yes it is Yak Communications.  I have their long distances plan which is excellent!  I had a problem calling overseas and they called to verify that the problem has fixed it's problem.
Very satisfied!

OMG! They call me every 2 minutes! They wont stop, i have free calling from 3 to 6 and called them then, i am on my cell phone and charges me for long distance! i later find i have a call reject list on my samsung corby plus. i add them and now keep track whenever they call.

I got heavy breathing on my answering machine today at 7pm EST!!!!!!

Left a message on my cell phone voice mail promoting a big credit for signing up with WIND Mobile and a special bundle price if you use Yak and WIND for internet, phone, and wireless.

I have been getting these calls too. On my new cell phone and I'm in Manitoba. They said I have to pay my balance yadda yadda but I have never heard of them before until I looked up the number. This is really annoying its happened 3 times already and I just got the phone on Saturday. I only answered the first time and now I dont because its long distance for me but is there any way to get them to stop calling?

They too called me to say that my account was not paid, but the lady gave me a full credit card number I have never had, she also had my full name, address and confidential things. Bit scarry when you know they don't have access to the full card number usually.  They maybe have a leak internally.

Call occurs almost nightly.  There is no one on the other end.  In addition, other recorded calls come from Yak Communications indicating our bill has not been paid.  We have never used Yak Communications nor will we ever in the future.  Frustrating.

This number has called me in the past. It is Yak Communications, specifically an automated dialer they use to notify people that their monthly bill is unpaid. I discovered this when my direct payment information was erased, and they had not received payment for 2 weeks (I assumed they were auto-paid as usual).

They call for legitimate reasons, but are incredibly persistent - not even an instant payment stops them calling for the current day. Since their billing system is automated, it takes a half-day to a day after they receive payment to cease phoning.

I received a call from this phone number --- on my work phone!  It was an automated message that said it was from YAK and it said something along the lines of 'make a payment today so you don't damage your credit rating' yada yada yada, they even gave a 1-866 number but I didn't catch the rest of the numbers!  It's very annoying that these telemarketer calls are even reaching my workplace!  I get enough of these at home, I don't need more at work!  GRRRR!

The number 416-279-1365 is definitely a Yak number. I just tried it. I do subscribe to their long distance plan and they are probably just calling to remind me that my credit card is expiring in a few weeks. But definitely a Yak Communications number!!

Ironically, this is somewhat comforting to know we are not alone with this problem.  These people are jerks.  I'm going to just put the phone down next time and leave it.  Hopefully, it will keep their line open indefinitely.

same issue, called my husbands cell phone 3 times in one day, noone there on pick up.  This is very frusterating...now they are calling on cell phones?!
