Received some calls from 416-313-4990, told them that as an owner of a similar protection i was absolutely not interested in their product (life insurance in case of accident, injuries, illness...). I had to be rude to make them understand but no more call since then.
But, today i'm looking at my cell phone bill and guess what i got extra charges for long distance call (i'm from Quebec city) when i know i didn't do any long distance call. so, wondering the responsible phone number for that, i found out it was 416-313-4990  -__-    they better not call me again, they won't get my usual hapinness that's for sure!
NB: i'm a scotia bank client too.

They call all the time.  They will not leave a message if you don't pick the phone up.  If you have the new iPhone there is a little (i) beside the number called.  Click on the (i) there is an option to block phone calls from that number.  What a great option.

To everyone getting this call, tell them to add you to a do not call list for every insurance  and bank matter. It should stop them

I have also received this call on several occasions, no message.

Optima Communications calling on behalf of Scotiabank, trying to sell some accident insurance or some sort that your car insurance company/home insurance would cover.

Declined her, still continued to pressure for about two times before hanging up. Pricing from the insurance went from 200 bucks to 8 bucks a month. Ha. Insurance = great money eh?

This number calls and it's from Scotia Bank....they call and call...but it can't be that important they can't even leave a message...

I received a phone call from them today at 6:27 pm central time. The phone rang and I picked it up immediately but they disconnected the call. I am a scotia bank customer. Not sure why they disconnected the call and/or left no messsage.

Got a call at 5:04pm, didn't answer, no message left.  I am a Scotia customer in Saskatchewan  How annoying if they're trying to sell me stuff.

And it is starting all over again. As soon as Sept hits, the calls start. Got one today at 3:13pm

called 5:37pm, I have banking thru soctia, so above comments make sense to how they coulda got my number.

Same call in NL no message but I am a Scotia Bank client.  Blocked a prior number, now I guess this will be another.

Also a Scotiabank client. They called at 7:50 pm on September 28, 2012.  Didn't have time to get to the phone but decided to google the number since the number was unknown to me.

got a call 9-27-2012 this is an optimal communication international on behalf of scotialife.  No idea what was that call for...

If i find out this is really scotiabank i will be switching banks as i have already warned them that if i continue to get these calls i will do so :) i sleep during the day because my job is night shift (obviously) and i have asked to be left alone more than 3 times already.

These people do not care about customers only to make profits by harrassing customers into buying things they dont need eg more credit cards and insurance.

I would suggest people do the same if they are tired of being treated this way.

this number has called me repeatedly for weeks, it is scotia bank offering accidental life insurance i had to tell them i didn't want it more than half a dozen times

i am also a scotia client, told them i don't qualify due to medical condition. next time they called i told them i am a real estate sales representative and proceeded to solicit their business. even though i owned the conversation they are still calling, but not buying or selling!

Interesting how this number only seems to call during the month of September since 2009 based on these comments. I received one too, no voicemail.

Got a call, I picked and they hung up.  Happened multiple times within this past months.

i got a call at the same time today (7:30 EST) obviously part of their out going call center. I've told them in not interested in life insurance before and that i would call them if i was but they still call me :/

Same as others. I'm a Scotia Bank member. I recieved the call on Saturday Sept. 8, 2012 at 1h30pm. I didn't answer.

Received a call from this number as well ~ 30mins ago.  Didn't answer and no msg left.  There is definitely a pattern here.

Dont know if this helps but i Got this call tonight, no message. I WAS a scotia bank customer over a year ago..  but not anymore..  So hard to say if it is scotialife or not

Just got a call from this number. I didn't answer. They left a voicemail, but it was just a cough then hang up. Don't know who it was.

Just got a call from this number. I have a small Scotialife policy & they wanted to sell me more. I said I wasn't interested a bunch of times. She kept going on & on and started talking about how if I was burned in a fire I'd be covered. I hung up. She said the call was being recorded so I'm going to contact Scotiabank about this.

Scotia life for sure. i called 18004scotia, logged a complaint and they are investigating. But at least I was told I will be removed from all marketing lists..so thats at least good.

Another thing though..I am on the no call list and they still call...should be letting them know too!
