Indian accent. Call was a windows "update" scam. Hung up when I called him a criminal
Received a call this evening from a "Computer Repair Service". Guy with a Sri Lanken sounding accent says my computer is at risk. When I asked him how he knew this since it was not turned on he started insisting that every computer known ever built is at risk. I told him that I didn't need his help as I do not use any kind of computer repair service. After some more back and forth bickering I told him to go "help" someone else. As I hung up the phone all I hear is swearing.
I got a call from 416-360-0172 and then from 416-363-5905. It was an automated message that said "Google Verification Code xxxxxxx". They called 3 times. Then I got a text mesage saying the same thing from 1-727-599-2166, 1-754-263-8343, and 1-614-300-3568 all saying the same message.
This number has called several times. I picked up and it's a male with strong South Asian accent claiming to be from Windows and saying my computer is infected. When I said You sound like a fraud, he said Go to hell! Great way to nab a customer..
me too this is so weird i have been recieving calls from them for the past week and they say NOTHING and hang up.
They tired to call me from 416-444-3775. When I answered the call rudely by saying "WHAT?", the caller on the other end (a male) fumbled/studdered and asked, "Did you just call me?" I told him I knew what he was doing and that I found out via the internet. I told him DON'T call me back or else there would be trouble.
He hung up.
HA, HA! What a LOSER!
I keep getting calls from this number and other numbers similar to this number. They never leave a message. Always remember people ...... if they didn't leave a message, then they didn't call. DON'T call back this number or any other numbers you don't recognize. You never know what kind of fees could be added to your phone bill when scammers are on the prowl.
Been getting calls from this number. Previously ignored but finally answered cause had time. Fellow with Indian accent saying they were from Canadian Lifestyle Survey taking a 40 second survey. Decided to answer with fake answers. After, they said I qualified for special financial advise and did I want to receive calls from one to discuss how to take advantage. Said sure. Next day received message from fellow with no accent, not as rude as initial caller about financial services. Didn't call back but perhaps next time, will to get information about the company so I can report them.
Received call from this number. Man with Indian accent called from "Canadian Lifestyle Survey" for 40 second survey. Doesn't give you a chance to say anything. When I said I wasn't a home owner, he just hung up.
We just had a call from this number. A fellow with an east Indian accent said he was taking a survey of homeowners in our area and it wouldn't take more than 40 seconds. I told him I wasn't the homeowner (maybe a little fib but I don't feel too guilty) he just said goodbye and quickly hung up.
scam call for windows virus service
same story, indian accent trying to tell me that the computer was sending errors to them. I am a programmer and I realized this was a scam right away but I played along to see what he was up to. He asked me to run eventviewer (windows logging) and specifically the application logs. He then told me that the information there was (in broken english) indicating that my applications were corrupt. If it had the letter 'i' it was like an infections (it really means information) and if it was marked with a yellow or red (warning and error respectively, which are of no concern) then my computer was infected and my software was corrupt. He then had me go to www.showmypc.com and tried to get me to use their service (which seems legit) to allow him to access my computer so he could help me. I told him that I would need to speak to his supervisor. He refused (this went on several minutes), I wasn't getting anywhere so I decided to start responding to his questions like he was trying to sell me a 'window' cleaning service. (him) 'Sir, your computer is infected'.. (me) But I am very meticulous and I never use unknown substances (him) sir, this can happen to anyone and you can see by what I have show you the informations that your computer has issues do you agree? (me) well, my windows seems to be working fine, in fact right now I can see my neighbor, she is really hot (him) sir, I am not sure what you are talking about, can I help you with your computer (me) yes, you can help me of course because you are an expert on windows (him) ok, do you see the orange box on showmypc.com webpage (me) yes,so you think a cleaning would definitely help (him) yes sir, it will make your computer run much more efficiently (me) but how will you ensure that my windows will stay clean (him) we are very technical and have the latest technology to solve your problems (me) thats really great, do you mind if I call you jason, I really like the name jason, so jason, you say my windows will be clean (him) sir I am not jason, I can work right on your computer to help you (me) wow jason that is really great, clean windows are important, are you single? (and so on, finally he got frustrated and hung up warning me that my computer really was infeected)
This P***(Mark) F@#Ker! Tried to get me to download a program...I told him to F##K Off and take his scam and shove it! He swore back and hung up.
The unfortunate problem is I wanted to blow whistle into the phone to deafen these scumbags.
I received a call from the same guy with indian accent, I asked for his supervisor; another guy came with same accent. I put them on hold trying to call them on my cell but I got no where. I told the guy I did not thrust him and cut off the call.
This company is a scam, hang up!
Stop trying to scam people!
I am a genius

Thumbs if you think I am cool. What do you think Toronto ladies, am I smart or what lol.
In all seriousness, I might have mentioned ducts, doors and window repairs pre phone call. It's creepy if they can hear it.
Received a call from this number yesterday, thought it was a Toronto number so I answered it. It was an Indian accent saying there was a problem with windows on my computer. I had heard of this scam so I told him that was strange because we didn't have a computer and he hung up.
I received a call from a guy with a thick indian accent 416 360 0172 telling me my Microsoft was sending error messages along with malicious software was slowing down my computer. I needed to sit down in front of my computer to help fix this. He was aggressive and intrusive when I said, " I don't have time for this now." He actually wanted to know where I was going. I am glad that I type the number and saw the comments from above.
Received call from 416-360-0172 claiming that there is a problem with my computer and that they represent Windows users, is this ligitimatte?
I received a call from 416-360-0172 and left a rude message to call back at 1-877-451-2610 extension 6145. I called back and it turned out to be AIC, a shi*ty collection agency trying to track down people by randomly calling and threatening people having a similar first or family name. They are very rude and aggressive and when they call try to get your personal information without giving any information who the hell are they. They exactly act as scammers and fraudists. Government should put a leash on these wild animals by passing regulation on their practice.
I have been called from this number today May 14 13. It did not left any message. I have tried to call back and this phone behaves unusual, there is no ringing just rings once and tone comes back. Somebody has also tried to break in my phone over this weekend and I could not receive or send any calls for 3 days.
Recieved another call and they did not leave message ! Called back and phone line just went to dial tone after connection.
Received call and did not leave a message and when I called back the phone line just went to a dial tone after connection.
They have been calling me for days. I answered today after reading these posts yesterday. I won two tickets to Vegas because of my good credit standing with MasterCard and Visa (I only have one). I said great just send the tickets to my address you have on file. The indian man started screaming at me telling me I am no loger qualified and hung up. LMAO.
A male with a thick Indian accent identified himself a John, technical support for Microsoft Windows representing unidentifiable company called to inform that for the past few days they were receiving error message from my computer therefore they needed access to my computer and credit card information for their service to remove malicious data - call from 416 360 0172.
Damn thing could not speak English. Just gibberish. Please, silly people, get jobs as janitors or something simple and stop bothering decent citizens
Just received a second call from this number claiming to work in conjuction with my credit card company and that they were based in montreal . Wanted to offer me a trial base program to save money at certain venues I frequently shop at. I asked which credit card company they are refering to and said it was cinfidential for my protection. They had my old billing address as I have recently moved. In both cases the operator on the phone was rude showing irritation to being asked question. They even offered me a free trip to either las vegas or miami. My phone dropped the call before I could pry any further. A scam if you ask me.
Got a call just a minute ago from this number, some heavy breathing on the other end, and they hung up.
This is a Toronto number, but it's probably a scammer from somewhere else in the world using VOIP phone and masking their actual number.
CANADA - 416 360 0172 ?
SOME INDIAN / PAKISTANI / SRI LANKAN GUY, SAID HE WAS FROM "MICROSOFT", I ASKED FOR BILL GATES TO BE PUT ON THE LINE, INDIAN GUY SAID HE HAD NEVER HEARD OF HIM ..... LOVELY
Same number. Same Indian accent. Told me he was: "Officer Neal" from Visa/Mastercard office. Called him a scam artist. Asked him questions. Asked for his email address and he got flustered and gave me some random yahoo account. I hung up.
