Only a smart portion of the collection sold is sent to the charity.   The effort to robo-call so often and repeatedly change their phone number (live in Toronto, but showed long-distance) does not seem like a reputable company.

I tell them to F@@K Off or save my energy and not answer.

They are a registered charity, perhaps, exempt by law from teh DNC List.  YOU can kindly ask them to remove your number from their list and, maybe, they might.

We've given several times and had no problem with pick ups.

It helps when you give.

Recycling Matters but guess what? telemarketers don't matter to me! Such a scam, they even disguise their called ID, it says unknown. A total scam! I've told them before not to call but they keep calling. I even tried calling them back many times but their number is always busy. The CRTC is going to hear about this! https://www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca/plt-cmp-eng

I work for recycling matters and it is very upsetting to to read the stories here we are a legitimate company and the only people you are hurting are the disabled people we support.

please...they are a charitable organization helping people with disabilities, since 1953. If you would call them and ask them to be take you name off the list they will. Some of the comments are just plain untruthful and mean spirited. I guess it really bad thing to call you and ask for help...shame on them...what a world we live in...selfish and uncaring.

Recycling Matters is a collection service for gently used-items. This collection service is available in several Ontario communities.

Recycling Matters is a fundraising activity for Community Living Ontario, a charitable organization established in 1953. Community Living Ontario advocates and supports people who have an intellectual disability to live and participate in their community.

They kept calling me for clothing donations and would not stop so the last time they called I said sure I have lots of clothes you can have. They said great and set up a time and day they would pick them up from me. I gave them an address for the Walmart in my town. They haven't called back, lol.

"4164460063" <4164460063>

They just called me now... I answered and a woman said 'hello' I also heard what sounded like a room full of other telemarketers chattering in the background. I said hello back to her and she hung up!

What the point of calling and then hanging up... bunch of dip-s****!

Try to understand what people are telling you ... if you call us 10 times and we do not answer, we do not want to deal with you ... if only we all had fancy phones where we could block thousands of these pestering numbers so that we do not hear a ring at all

We do not care if it is your job or not ... if you know your company called us several times already, not to mention every OTHER company doing the same thing, then you cannot expect us to be all happy about it ... when I have a cold and want to sleep in, I get awoken several times and can't rest ...same as after a long day at work where I deal with clients who also yell at me, I want to relax when I get home ... if I see you called me several times that day and then call me in the evening when I need to get dinner on the table, chores done etc., and you call me AGAIN, do not expect me to be nice

and when I say "you call me"  I mean your company ... all these companies care about is making a quota, and do not care if we are busy or sick or just tired ... you make us run for the phone and when we get there, there is no ID on the phone and half the time no one answers... I do not care if your dialler takes a while to get to you... why are you making that MY problem?

Give this feedback to you bosses ...tell them what you read here ... we do not answer because we are not interested.... and by the way, not putting the organisation's name on the display when you call is a violation of the CRTC terms and they can get a huge fine ... I am one of those people who reports organisations like yours for violations ... just because you call yourself a charity does not mean that you can bend the rules.

I am trying to decide if you are sarcastic or not.... keep doing it this way?  they call and do not leave messages, and many report getting dead air ... this is not the way to get donations ... they are not doing their charity any favours by calling 5 times a day just to harrass people by making them run for a phone and then  no one talks to them

I got a cold call from the CF people in the summer looking for donations .. when I answered the phone, I had a polite person explain what they were doing etc., and I told them to send a truck over ... I emptied my basement and garage of items I had been hanging onto for years .... I would deal with them again simply because they had their name on the display;  talked to me when I answered;  were courteous, and have not called me since then, which I assume means that they realise that they should wait about a year to see if I accumulated more unwanted items.  They also provided their business card when they stopped by with their phone number and web site so I can contact them .... this is how you collect items for a charity ... well done CF :)

CRTC rules for these people clearly indicates that they are in violation of their rules if they have "unknown" or "private"  as the display ... if they call you and do not display the name of the organisation they are calling on behalf of, you can tell them that you are reporting them to the CRTC and tell them WHY :)  then if enough people report them, they will have to put the name on the display or face a big fine

BUT

You have to take the time to report this ... I do it in an attempt to get this sort of thing rectified ... I have had several fly by night companies call with with no name in the description and saying they are repairing driveways in my neighboughood and would like to give me an estimate ... I told them I was reporting them to the CRTC for violating the rules of cold calling by trying to appear anonymous .. I have not had a call in a couple of months from these morons :)

If I answer the phone when the people calling from this number call again, I will tell them the same thing ... eventually they will stop if they know they face huge fines for disobeying the rules

you hit the nail on the head with that ... we are here to see who keeps calling since they do not leave messages;  nothing wrong with that

to call people losers because we get home and see they called several times and didn't leave a message shows a lack of intelligence

if you don't want to see people's messages.... browse elsewhere :)

These people call me again and again -- and I keep saying NO -- from Community Living/Recycling Matters or some such place, asking for recyclables/clothing. I ask them not to call again and they keep calling. I have Caller ID and now it reads "unknown" -- a testament to the fact that these cowards want to keep calling with impunity. Am fed up!

They call so often asking for donations.   This is a scam outfit and blocking their calls don't work when they keep changing the numbers.

This number calls me fairly often.  Generally, I don't answer and there has never been a message.  Today I answered, but there was no one on the other end.  Very frustrating!
