Found this number on my phone.

Just got this call too!
If you listen, it gives you the option to hit 9 and be removed from the calling list ;) I was hoping it would, only reason I stuck on the line for the 45 seconds.

Yep. I get the calls too. I never answer and have my ring shortened so it goes to voice mail. I monitor so if I see the # of a friend or expected caller I can pick up. May they all rot!

When you call this idiot back there is message saying it is polster.
In canada soliciting from polster is legal. I left f. word on the message.
One thing these idiots hate is to get the soliciting call.
I make ten calls per one asking if they want to buy my used socks.
One guy from BMO was fired because of my call. The operator got upset when I call again and again asking if she want to buy cat, parrot or my used underwear, etc.

I keep on getting recorded calls asking for public opinion for the recent elections. First of all this is none of anybody's buisness who I vote for. Second, I pay MY phone bill for ME to use. This also is none of your buisness to use my number. If this is from Bell, then my suggestion is to smarten up. I am no longer your customer and have not been for ten years. You continue to call and I will never ever have anything to do with Bell and I shall never involve in any survey of any kind, period.
But, I shall be reporting to CRTC. You are invading my privacy!

Thank You guys for your responses. At least i have somewhat of an idea of who is calling. Im just gonna record it as telemarkers in my phone. And Fedup, you are lucky to have the call reject feature i really wanted it but only my cellphone has it.
francois 2010-10-06 23:08:54 Survey
It was a survey for the Toronto municipal election, but the firm was not identified, so I hung up.

HI: I had bus.. in Buffalo recently, the lady I called, blocked my mobile phone, for it indicated to her, me-an UNK#, that is an unknow caller. When, I got there, she indicated, her N.Y. phone CO., provides, an service...to block all incoming phone call to her telephone service, in this broad category.
It was inconveniet, but I don't BLAME her, she does that for safety. Boy, would I subscribe to that BELL service here in Canada. At any COST. Is there this service availale. + k

Got a call from this number this evening. Hang up voice mail. I'm on the do not call list so I don't know why these telemarketers keep squeeking through.

"I finally invested in a phone that has call blocking options and seperate ring tones for important calls that I don't want to miss."
Do these options come with the phone itself or are they provided as a service by the telephone company ??
Many thanks for your time and answer.
Regards

I keep getting this call, and I have never had any ties with Bell so it must be something else. I didn't answer like always, and I don't understand why they don't leave a message, I would be able to know if it was a survey I wouldn't mind filling out if they gave me their number and a brief overview.
Fedup 2010-09-28 23:55:04 Unknown
I got a call tonight from this number. I don't know who it was, but I didn't answer. I waited for the number to appear on the call display and looked the number up on the internet. Then I set my phone to block this number from now on.
I got so fed up with telemarketers and other unwanted callers, I finally invested in a phone that has call blocking options and seperate ring tones for important calls that I don't want to miss.
That was my solution. Peace at last.
PS: I have cut all ties with Bell as well.
rpearlston 2010-09-20 03:14:37 Unknown
Then why am I getting calls from these idiots if I have no business with Bell Canada? And I HAVE NO BUSINESS WITH BELL CANDA. I've cut all of my ties with them because everything that they do is by hard sell.
wrist 2010-09-17 06:04:12 Unknown
I hope it isn't. I already filed two complaints on the do not call list site.
Maybe it's time to contact the CRTC web site as well.
The do not call list has worked pretty good so far but lately I'm noticing more of these stupid don't leave a message type calls which must be telemarketers because they are not supposed to leave messages.
The display shows as "unknown number on 2 of my call display units.
They are only allowed to call you if you have business related to them. I found there are certain exceptions. It's all explained pretty well at the website where you put your name on the do not call list.
If you have a contract or some sort of business with the firm that is calling they can call and certain types of groups or opinion polls are allowed but have to comply if you ask them not to call.
That's my understanding. I think the ones that hide their number or don't leave messages ae job offers but turns out to be this garbage. I want to get a reliable device to screen this kinda crap out.
Tired of googling their *&^% numbers
.

beamer 2010-09-16 20:02:14 Political Call
I just received a call from this number and after a delay on the line a recording came on and it was a survey on who I might vote for in the Toronto municipal mayoralty race.
I chose "0" for undecided.
Well hung (up!) 2010-09-16 13:59:09 Survey
They called on a recent evening. When I picked up it was some stupid loser automated calling thing - claiming to be a "survey". I hung up. Called the number back the next day and got a message saying "If you are calling us because you received a call about a survey and do not wish to be called, please leave your ten digit nuber after the beep." So I did. Hope it works. They claim they are doing a "survey" - but how many "surveys" turn into sales pitches??
Of course at no point do you get to find out the name of the company that called.
All I can say is that by the tel #, they are located somewhere near Yonge & Eg in Toronto.
I really dislike the morons who think phoning people this way is an acceptable way to do business, and I am none too fond either of the segment of the population that actually answer these tele-marketing calls and tele-surveys questions readily. There are just enough people who are gullible enough to answer that it makes it worth the while of these companies to keep on operating this way.
