This is a SCAM!  She called, saying she was from the Windows technical department. And she said that my computer was sending them error messages, and that she would talk me through the process of repairing my computer. When I asked her how a Mac could send messages to Windows, she hung up on me.

got a call from 416-503-2984 but didn't answer... no message left on voicemail - returned call but got recorded message that the number is not in service... seems like a game someone is playing

It was my sister using skype for me.. so it could also be scammers using skype

This is one of the many unwanted numbers that called at dinner time specially and bother us.
If they do not found you they call and call and call. When the listen the message machine they do not leave any message of course.
There is people that they do not have anything to do more than annoy others.

received a call from this number.  He asked for Mrs. my last name and I said he had the wrong number and I hung up.

I just got a call this number and the caller (male) asked for Mr./Mrs. <Last name of the property owner> but refused to identify himself after I've told him they're unavailable. He hung up the phone immediately after that.

First they called from a long distance number saying they were from MicroTech and my computer alerted them of an error. I asked what program was it alerting from and he just repeated himself, so I hung up. A moment later, I received a call from 416-503-2984. Upon answering, the same man asked me quite angrily why I hung up as he was from Micro Tech. Hung up again and he hasn't called back.

These number calls me and my wife at least nine times a day, it is very annoying. The message on the line is very rude they always call in 3 intervals. first one with this number, second one with unknown name unknown number and 3rd one with anonymous name unknown number.

guy called.  Used my first name.  I was busy so he said he would call back.  I called the # back and it said it was out of order

I tried faxing and calling this number and it says it is out of service. Even though I called it within minutes of them trying to fax to my phone!

Been getting calls (on my cell phone) daily for weeks - usually the same time 7:30pm. Very annoying - I thought this was against the law?

Same thing happened to me too.  Don't waste your time reporting it to the "phone company", despite the fact that they know who it is, they refuse to address the harrassing nature of the call.

this number calls and there is a recording this is an important call hold for operator I've tried blocking the number but then they just call from a different number Has called every day for 1 week

What many people naively do not realize is that it is very easy now to block, mask, and fake phone numbers for caller ID.

Companies can assign their outgoing lines numbers which are fictional or which belong to pay phones or to other companies or individuals.

Since de-regulation of the phone system, no company can or will take responsibility for removing phone privileges from customers who perpetrate frauds and make nuisance calls (why? because they want the revenues!). It has also become very, very difficult for law enforcement to trace, track, shut down, arrest and charge the individuals pulling this s***.

By falling for the robber-barons' total myth of "free-market" de-regulation of an essential service, Canadians have given free-reign to these criminal fraudsters and scammers. This country needs to enact new laws enabling and enforcing phone companies to cut, cancel and shut down telephone users engaging in these practices and confiscate their equipment. The technology certainly exists, but the will to vote in legislators who will actually act in our interests? Good question. Only YOUR vote will help.
