If there is a phone call, check the number first that appear on your phone screen.  If you do not know the number or private number or unavailable number let it go to your answering service.  If the caller really wants to speak with you, then he or she will leave a message for you to call back.  If the caller does not leave a message, that mean the caller is a telemarketer who is going to sell you whole bunch of craps or it is just a scam.  Just be smart and don't let these psycos ruin your life!  They are some nasty people coming from another countries who are desperate to do a "dirty laundry" in here.  Just do not do any business with them.  You can tell by their accent and the way they talk.  Just say NO and NO and NO to whatever they are offering if you happen to pick up the phone by mistake.  If you do not give them any kind of business, they will eventually disappear due to lack of business and money.  Again, do not pick up the phone until you check the numbers.

I just got a call from this number (416) 536-5475 stating that he wants to speak to Mr. Douglas.  I told him there is no such person by that name, and he probably dialed a wrong number.  He said f%^$ you.  I hang up the phone.  This guy is probably psycho.

The same person keeps calling me from this number. I am an Indian myself and I could easily identify that this person was certainly from INDIA and certainly not from SUNLIFE. Because my last name is scottish  the guy thought that I was non-Indian and would not be able to catch his motive. When I asked him where he was calling from he said "why do you care-- you old lady do you want me to kick your a**", At this point I simply switched languages and spoke to him in Hindi -- the guy got really scared. I am ashamed that such scums of the earth call and harass people. I am going to write to the Indian press about this.

Same thing happening here. Someone called from this number asking for information, claims to be from Sunlife.  I called Sunlife, it was not them.  They are investigating it.  He keeps calling back.  Total scam.

got a call from 416-536-5475  nuisance - get there hangs up

Had a call from 416-536-5475. It was a man with an east indian accent that sounded like he was miles away (that was the first hint), he claimed to be from Sunlife and wanted to come to our house to discuss  benefit plans they offer. I told him I was not interested and hung up. I then called Sunlife and reported this to their customer service team. She said they'd forward it on to an internal department that could deal with this. She said it sounded suspicious as well. A google of this # turns up two different  names, one living in Etobicoke and the other Toronto.

My son received a phone call from the same number (416) 536-5475. The person wanted to meet him at home or at a local coffee shop to go over insurance.  He immediately replied 'NO', hung up and reported this to me (I taught him never to give out information)

I called the number as well and no service.  I suspected a scam.

Apparently these people don't give up.....they called twice the same day and also the following day!!!

Be careful -- don't give any information.

Suspected Fraud/criminal/identity theft call from 416-536-5475

Caller from this number called and asked to confirm my adderess.  He hung up on me when I asked him who he was.  I called back, and the number was not in service.

Bell Canada Operator had no options to help me - they don't even have a fraud report mechanism, and don't seem to know or care about abuse of service.

Beware - authenticate your caller before volunteering ANY information.  Probably identity thieves!
