I believe a BFB should be created as well. Business Facts Bureau should tell people the difference between a legit business and a fraudulent company.

Be very careful with this company.  They are scammers, check out the link below they get a "F" from the BBB in the US and they claim they have an office here in Toronto.  But when you call this number we are told they don't know them.  They call as if they are trying to sell you something and they claim you owe them money. Don't trust them.

Anyone with a smart phone should look for an app that can block unwanted phone calls. Lots of them are even free.

I received a call from a si,ilar phone number from Toronto Canada, but I did not answer it because I did not recognize the number. I do not know anyone in Canada, as much as I find it a lovely country. And nope.. ain´t giving credit card numbers to people I do not know... I have been around since 1968, so i am becoming less and less naive...

I got a call this morning from 250 930 4268 stating I had won a 100,000 AirMiles and to press one... I just waited and after a minute or so the line disconnected.   Never press any number as per requested... if you had actually won anything legit, it would not come through a nameless recorded message!

Got a call from this number, but I never pick up weird numbers like this.

I got the call stating I won 100,000 airmiles points.  All I had to do was confirm that I was over 25 and then they asked for my credit card number.  I laughed at her and told her she was crazy if she thinks anyone was going to give their credit card # to anyone calling and asking for it.  She hung up!  Reputable companies would never call you out of the blue and ask you for your credit card # over the phone.  Don't answer, definitely a scam!

I received a call from 416-572-9989 on my Bell Mobile phone. I rang off before listening to the entire message, however this was a computer generated automated message.

I just got a message on my cell phone saying I just won 100,000 reward points. Press 1. Which I didn't. I guess it doesn't matter if you're on the Nat'l do not call list. Definitely bogus. Don't you wish these scammers would get a life?

They're back...this time congratulating me on winning 100,000 Aeroplan points and all I had to do was press 1.  I didn't nor should anyone.

I reported receiving a call from this no 416-572-9989 earlier and wonder whether these calls all were made to mobile phones and to what company these recipients subscribe, or does any type of phone service receive calls from this no? From what I read in the comments it appears more than one large company is quoted over this line: i.e. Shaw, Wal*Mart. Has anyone contacted these companies and report this? Is there any connection between these calls and e-mail fishing-Spam messages I start receiving at the same period? It sure appears that way.

just got called left no message and its the third time they have called my cell

I just received a call from 416-572-9989 on my cell. I just tried calling it from my land line at work, and the number is NOT IN SERVICE!!! I called Bell Canada to ask how this is possible and the operator said..."it's a tele-marketer using a ficticious number so that we can't call them back and report them to the DO NOT CALL centre." If it is Walmart Points like Marc said above, then they need to get a life. I hope they get fined for this!!!

Just got a call from this number. Didn't answer. I tried calling back, and the number is not in service.

I got a recorded message saying that as a preferred Westjet customer I was eligible for a special gift and to push 1

Had this number call twice this week, once saying Bell, the 2nd time WestJet.

Called but I ignored.  Didn't even leave a message.  Damn Spammer!

What is our recoourse against illegal calls from illegal auto-phone dialer equipment?
As soon as you answer, they know that they got a live one at the other end and open the flood gates.
This latest one said I get a free gift for being a valued Westjet customer. Maybe the legitimate companies could sue the perpetrators for millions of dollars as a deterrant.
How about a class action suit?

I got a call from this no. +14165729989 i presume its telemarketers. Just chill!

This is the second time they have called. I now let it go to VM and they never leave a message.

Ya I got a call from this 416 number, but I got a live person. Before he could say anything I asked what is the cost...he said nothing....then I said why are you calling...wanted to offer me a deal and that I won 3000 points...all I needed to do is give him my VISA CARD number and the 3 digit code on the back to verify who I was.

That when I went into YOU MESSED WITH THE WRONG PERSON mode..

3rd question: Where are you located? In Canada

My next response "Thank you Eduardo, who is working somewhere in Canada without a manager, let me tell you who I am....I am an investigator with the fraud department for the federal government and I will see you very shortly...please make yourself comfortable and then I hope for you your manager is available.

i got a call from this 416 #. I live in northern Alberta (780 area code), but I answered because I'm originally from Toronto and I thought this might be family calling me. The computer voice on the other end said I was a preferred Bell customer and to press 1 to get a gift. That's a clear sign of phone spam so I just hung up

received a call from this number for the 2nd time... getting frustrated.. please stop it!
