gat a call from this number last night 7:19pm.  didn't recognize the number but I run a biz from home so had to answer.  but anyone who asks for me in a is Mrs. so & so there? so officially I know its not someone I want to talk too. So I just told them they had the wrong number.

I got the at home phone in evening and lady was saying about financial product from scotia bank insurance.....

I get calls several times a week from that number. I don't pick up any more. The only time i did as soon as i said hello it started to ring like i was calling somebody.

I just got called now, though I did not pick-up. I have "call display" for a reason, to filter all the other phone calls that are basically people trying to sell me something I don't need or want.

416 581 8725 called my cell on 14 April 2014, no message left. This happens only in April, year after year. I'm blocking it.

Sounds like a scammer.   Hope they get caught

Melissa is right!  Technology could get to you but then technology could save you a lot of worry.  I plugged the number into Google and found your comments here for which I'm grateful.  With all the talk of Heartbleed virus when I got this call today claiming to be Scotia Financial I got very suspicious (especially since the woman kept getting my name wrong) besides the fact that today is Saturday 12-April what the ...!  Why are they calling in the EVENING on a WEEKEND?  Anyway I'm going to block the number.  Thanks guys for the info.

I got the same number calling my cell all the time, soon gonna pick up and tell them to fly to F**k and not to call my number anymore!

i keep getting calls from this number on my cell. They don't leave a message. It's long distance as well. There is another phone number with area code 416 that calls as well and they claim to be Scotia Bank too. I have told those calling from the other number to stop calling and that I was not interested in their offers. Now it seems I am getting calls from this number instead.

they claim to be calling on behalf of scotia bank...have you actually contacted your bank to check on this?  i did the mistake of picking up this call and a lady asked me if I was interested in Financial products from scotia bank...i told her that in no way i was to discuss any personal or Financial things over the phone with an unknown caller...and I got that call after 11 pm ....

Just got a call today (satruday) from the scotia bank Financial blabla? REally? On a saturday? First they were laughing at the beginning.. so I got pretty suspicious. Then he start talking a long time and I just said : wait a second, first I don't trust a bank that call me on the weekend, and second I'm hanging up right now. I'm pretty sure you don't want to trust them..

They call my cell phone daily (a number which I NEVER give out)...How they got the number beats me, but I never answer since they usually call while I'm at work. I figure if they can't leave a voicemail it's not important enough for me to bother answering so they can continue to call and I will continue to not answer since they call on a daily basis and I actually recognize the number when they call now...

Claimed it was a courtesy call from scotiabank asking for my wife. Only thing is, she doesn't have an account at scotiabank!

I called them back 1-416-581-8725 and its Scotia Financial Services...

This number just called my CELL phone at 8:15PM!  I didn't answer and no message was left.  I am seriously getting tired of all the phone calls!

You do realize people its not ACTUALLY Scotia bank, get mad all you want and shut your accounts down but they would never call you. I had "Telus" call me before about dropped calls, I stupidly gave them my pin and the added 6 phones onto my account. It wasn't Telus at all!! They get your information, in this case would take all your money in your bank.

This number called me tonight at around 8:20pm AST.
I don't owe Scotia Bank ANY money ( I have EXCELLENT credit with them, and know ALL the girls that work at my local branch, as my Grandmother was the branch manager for 20+ years), nor do I have/want any kind of insurance policy. I have emiled Scotia bank's head office, and reported the number, and expressed my concerns.
Not only that, my home phone # is UNLISTED.. the only # on my Banking Profile is my cell phone #.

it's from oversea thay tap in to your phone line and run up your phone bill up $$$$$$$$$$$

My a** it was on behalf, damn scams....

I kept telling them I have a life insurance plan through my work benefits...and when I told them they would try to sell me a different package, and then a different one, and then they tried to give me one....and when I asked for them to send me some literature they said they have it all ready and they can run me through it in 2 minutes...I said "no, I want something sent to me so I can see it!" then the man said, "ok, Mr. _____ Thank you for your time." and they hung up...so, its a scam

My whole day of fun got ruined because of a stupid message left on my landline from this number 416-581-8725.

The voicemail left was a very lengthy pre-recorded message and said something about "calling 911 immediately".  

I had a whole fun afternoon planned for myself because Mum was at work and Dad took my Sister shopping - so I took the car and went out to get a nice, peaceful coffee and just relax.  Well, Mum checked the voicemail from her office and immediately freaked out over the "911" mention, and rushed home to listen to it again.  She then called me and blamed me for it, thinking that I'd gotten into some sort of trouble or car accident.  I had to rush back home to prove to her that nothing was actually wrong on my end.  She took the rest of the day off because she was so frightened, which means no relaxing coffee for me...ALL BECAUSE OF THIS ONE STUPID MESSAGE FROM THIS DODGY NUMBER!!  

I study so hard at uni and never get a break - this was my ONLY break in over a month and it was ruined.  I curse the thoughtless idiots behind this random robocalling and advocate their immediate imprisonment and hefty fine!  We pay Bell Canada to be unlisted in the telephone directory!!  I curse them all...
