These guys keep calling me too.  This is the first time they ever left a message.  You know what it said?  Absolutely nothing! It was just some dude whistling a little song.  So bizarre!?!?  I'm not calling anyone back who doesn't leave a message with the who, what and why.

A guy came to my door told me that the goverment was going green and that they work with enbridge and hydro one to ensure that the price raises of the going green plan wouldn't affect me.. They were summitt energy. I fell for his Speil and signed the 5 year contract but he then handed me a phone and said that I have to confirm that all the papers were given to me with his company by law so I had to answer yes. He told me if I changed my mind I still have 10 days to cancel and that they would call back within 10 days to confirm if I want this package.... Am I locked in or do I still have the 10 days to cancel?

I living in Alberta and I have been receiving this calls, when I tried to call back no answer.

I just want to warn everyone that SUMMITT ENERGY has been going around Ottawa (Avalon neighborhood in Orleans). I had someone at my door on July 17, 2013. He said he was affiliated with Ontario Energy Board and wanted to verify if I was paying HydroOne's "new price" or "old price". When he put me on the phone and they asked if I agreed to a 5 year contract, I hung up the phone and slammed the door in his face.
Summitt Energy is a scumbag company and Carlo Cavaliere (rep no OK 1364) is a DISHONEST, MISLEADING, LYING ****. If he comes to your door, tell him to get lost and call the police.

this person calls  frequently ,,, never leaves a message ...   I called back and the number was out of service ... sounds weird ..

Same message - keep getting calls from this number all through day including weekends - never leaves message.  I now see it appears to be Summit Gas or the like trying to lock you into a contract.  Is there anyway to block these types of calls??

I have been getting at least 10 calls per day from this number and yes back in July I started a potential business relationship with Summit Energy however I have not yet agreed to commit. They do have both my home and mobile number and are calling it each at least 5  times per day. Not only do they not leave a message, I am unable to call them back on that line and when I pick up the call to find out who they are they do not respond. I am surmising from the messages below that this must be Summit Energy although I have no proof as they do not answer the phone or speak to me when they call.

Any advice out there on how to deal with these nuisance callers?

Got scammed by the same company.  moved into my home in July 2009.  Some idiot came to the door and gave us this song and dance about energy costs going up and even showed us an Enbridge bill.  I signed up for hydro only and then they harrassed me so much that i said no to them.  i then started receiving outrageous gas bills from them.  I did not sign up for gas distribution with them.  Anyway, to make a long story short, they claimed they confirmed with me 10 days after for gas supply which is a lie, they called me in October when i did not have a copy of my contract in front of me and confirmed that i agreed to the charges which is three times the rate that Enbridge is charging.  they went ahead and they also indicated with an X that I signed for gas supply which is absolute bull.....t as i have a copy of my contract.  they are absolute liars and totally misrepresented themselves at my door.  i have made a complaint to the OEB and just awaiting a response from them.  i was just informed by them that i have to pay $450 to cancel the contract.  when i started questioning them about the gas charges, they told me that it is winter and very cold!!!!!.  since i have been in my home, it has be the mildest winters on record that i can remember and i don't understand why the gas bills are so high.  i am convinced that they are doing something from their offices with rgards to the meters.  i have had my furnace inspected twice and both times i have been told that there is absolutely nothing wrong with my furnace.

Its summit energy trying to get a hold of you as they are required to contact you within 10days of you signing their contract. It is an out call number only but thanks to this site identifiyng who these ppl were I was able to call their call centre and cancel with really no hassle as long as you cancel before the 10 days are up. You can reach them at this number #1-877-222-9520. Also make sure you get a cancellation confirmation number. Another thing I thought was odd is that a freind of mine was also approached by one of thier reps(Shawn Nichols) who happened to be the same guy who came to my door. The reason this was odd as we live almost an hour apart and our visits were within 10 min of each other.....more misrepresentation????

This phone number is someone calling from Summit Energy, or Summit Gas - they are trying to get you to use them instead of your current supplier - likely Enbridge. I had read up on them abit and it seems no one really has anything nice to say about them. They came to our door - THE DAY WE MOVED IN to our new house (june 27th) - and were VERY misleading - the guy told my husband he was with Enbridge and my husband signed the papers (just trying to get the guy out of the way so we could continue moving in). I worked for a phone company that used to do that when Bell first lost the rights to the full market - and knew it was a scam. I got my husband to call and tell them to cancel it right away - they said someone would call back in ten days.
A guy just called me 5 minutes ago - I told him we were not signing up - they were misleading and he tried to change my mind. I had to tell him 3 times that I was at work and would call him later - he said he would call me and then I hung up.

Caller asks for my husband by name - I say he's not in, can I take a message - he says no he'll call back later.

I got the same call from this number but I never picked up the phone to answer it. I have caller's ID in our phone and we don't answer callers that don't have the caller ID appear on our phone. I remember getting a visit from somebody and talked about energy conservation as mentioned by others who got this kind of call. Fortunately, I did not bother to answer their call and it is nice to know that this is a call from these guys trying to convince us to enter into something we haven't clarified with.

some creepy guy came to our door shortly after we moved in and said he was from union gas, but he wouldn't really tell me what he was doing, he stunk like smoke, had a thick accent and wanted me to show him my bills as if the government was going to give me something back, he's come back a few times and even sounded like he tried to open the door once!! now Summit Energy calls me like everyday and yesterday I tried to say I'll call you back, but I'm not interested and they kept trying to keep me on the phone and say that all my reasons I didn't want the service were bad because of this or that.  I kept telling them I got no package in the mail to read up on them, so twice they told me they'd send me stuff, and then called back again, and then I got both of the exact same letters on the same day with real stamps on em! and this was like a week apart from asking.

They came to my door and told me about their Carbon Offset Program and that the Canadian Government was going to make it a law by Summer 2010 that all home owners pay around $50.00 per month for their carbon offset............however if you sign up with Summitt Energy it will cost $14.99. I signed up. Found out that this was a BIG LIE!! This was a 5 year contract. I have paid this extra charge on my Enbridge Bill since April/10. I called to cancel the contract. They would not. I explained that I am on disability and could not afford this, and that their agents lied at my door. I wrote to Ellen Roseman of the Toronto Star. My storey appeared in The Star Nov/20/10. Summitt Energy has now cancelled my contract but I had to send them proof that I am on disability. Now I also want my money back, but so far they say "Cancelling your contract without penalty is good enough"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I reported them to Enbridge and they are not happy with what has happened. Enbridge also sent them a 'dispute' for the amount they have collected off me. The good thing about this is that Summitt Energy needs Enbridge in order to bill the clients they scam into any contract! I hope Enbridge does not renew their contract!!! The moral to this and many other stories is; SAY NO TO ANY AGENT WHO COMES KNOCKING AT YOUR DOOR"!!!

This guy asked for a particular person by 1st and last name.  I said it wasn't me.  He asked again and I repeated my answer.  He then asked if I knew this girl.  I said I didn't.  Then he asked if I lived at a particular address.  I said I didn't and then once again asked if I knew her.

Thought I would let you know the exact same thing happened to us. I went through the OEB. After a few months they sent this supposed contract and a cd of voice confirmation. We never signed a contract and we did not vocaly approved a twenty min convo turend into sixty second confirmation.They actuly dubbed the cd, we are told we have to prove it.

This number keeps calling me as well, like the others it goes straight to an answering machine.  After reading all of these statements I realized I was scammed by the door to door Summit Energy rep.  He was very convincing about gas prices going up and even had newspaper articles from the Toronto Star to support it. We signed the forms under the impression that it would be locking in our gas prices before the supposed dramatic price hike.  He said that it wouldn't change our provider (Enbridge) and I thought that would be the end of it.  The company now calls on an almost daily basis which I miss most of the time.  When I try to call the number back it goes to an answering machine that is full.  Thanks for the insight people!

The exact same thing happened to me!  A guy cam to our door the day after we got possession of our new home.  He said that he received notification from Enbridge that we signed up as new clients and he was there to register us for our bill.  I also signed the papers not knowing exactly what it was all about.  I tried cancelling it too but had to wait for them to call me back in 10 days and when they did the guy on the phone was really rude and would not cancel the plan no matter how many times I told him to cancel it.  Eventually I had to give up and hang up like you did.  I'm told that as long as we do not give oral confirmation of the agreement it will not become active and it will not appear on your gas bill. I wish I had been warned before all this happened!

I also got a call from this number.  One yesterday and one today.  I was unable to pick up at the time, but they don't leave a message and when I called back, their answering service is said to be "full."
