They're at it again... just got a call from this number also displaying 'unknown name'  this morning on my distinctive ring line (fax), picked up with handset and then hung up after a few seconds.

I should not have to call long distance to have this fixed.  It should not be costing me money.  I am on the do not call list and will be reporting this company

** we've been receiving this beep call for over a year!  at all hours of the day and night!  it's also been filling up our machine!  Warning:  most of the ph#s usually begin with the number (647) 956 (then the last four numbers vary).  

I've just tried the remedy of calling (416) 847 1151, hitting 7 and then entering the code 00151 - fingers crossed it will work.  Otherwise, I talked to the CRTC about this harassment, and we're prepared to file a proper police report to investigate.

Same happened with me. Couple of times just BEEP from this number 416-847-1151. I put in BLOCK CALL.

Receiving phone calls from 705-847-1151 , it is a fax they are trying to send.  Tried the 0051 hope it works as they are really annoying!!!

I have already contacted the clients of a bc faxing company. Their clients are reporting that they get more calls complaining about the faxes and that they will never do business with a company that uses a fax service more than they get calls from people getting the fax and wanting to use their services.I will be contacting all the subscribers of the auto faxes that I get from 416-847-1151 to complain and let them know how auto fax does more harm to a company using it.
I will be reporting this number to the call registry if further faxes are received. Lots of toner used and tree's killed by these auto faxes. Maybe I should start a petition to have these companies banned for not being enviornmentally healthy.

this number has called me numerous times, including this morning at 6:00 AM and 3 subsequent times.  how do i get it to stop? it's from a fax.

This has to be the worst case of a fax spammer calling non-fax numbers that I've ever seen! For those of you who are actually getting fax spam on your machine from this number I suggest you go after the actual company that is doing the advertising. We've had garbage fax ads from companies like Bath Fitter in Ontario and some little printer ink cartridge seller in BC sending us fax spam in the past (we are hundreds or thousands of miles away!!) and even if they were right next door to us I would NEVER buy from a company that uses fax spam as a method of advertising!! I NEVER call their removal lines... I call the MANAGER using their 800 numbers and tell them to get their fax spammer to immediately remove our number. I also ask them for the name of the spam company they use but depending who you talk to they might not know. So far this has worked very well. If we ever get another fax from anyone we tell to STOP I will simply organize a group of people and have them swamp their 800 number with bogus phone calls from pay phones which will cost them many dollars and tie up a lot of their people with useless, costly calls.

Here are some more fax machine tips:
- We put our fax on a timer so it's only on during business hours. If we get spam during the day it is usually very easy to identify and we simply hit the CANCEL button before the fax comes through. If the owner here wasn't such a computer illiterate I would boot this stupid fax machine out the 10th floor window and never get another one!
- If possible, buy a fax machine with a display screen that stores faxes in the memory first rather than printing them right away. That way you can preview and DELETE the fax spam before it prints.
- Get a fax-to-email service from your phone provider. Any faxes sent to the number are converted to email - no wasted paper or tying up your fax line! There are also FREE services on the internet that allow you to have fax-to-email account. The only drawback is you will need a fax machine to SEND faxes yourself from your own phone line, or you have to be computer literate enough to use a scanner and know how to convert documents to PDF format so they can be emailed and opened by most people.

Lastly, this is a notice to anyone who thinks fax spam advertising is a good way of promoting your products or services: YOU ARE IDIOTS, MORONS AND COMPLETE AND UTTER DUMBF**KS!!!

After 3 months I finally found this page and entered the suggested code. Hopefully everything will be better now - if I don't post again you will know it did.

On the advice of the Toronto Police, I've reported this to the OPP, who took it seriously and offered to do a couple of helpful things for me.  First, they are going to ask the phone company to block the number to my numbers.  Second, they are putting a report in with an organization called Phonebusters, which follows up on these type of calls and works with police.  Thank you OPP!!!
( I STILL think Toronto Police should have at least taken a report and followed through. )

I've called Toronto Police.  Don't waste your time.  They just pass the buck and tell you to call your "local police agency".  Even when I explained that the calls are coming from 416, and that there are a couple of suggested names and addresses that they should investigate, they want nothing to do with it.  I called OPP and they tell me I should call Bell and block the call.  Bell is a nightmare to deal with, almost as frustrating as the harassment is to start with.  I'm thinking of hiring a detective to hunt down this bothersome SOB so I can tell him face to face to stop bothering me.

I just did this and when it prompted me to enter my fax # I put in my phone # and then the machine said "your fax number will be removed". Thanks for the tip - hopefully it'll work!!!

My cellphone is ringing right now from these obnoxious jerks for the 3rd time this AM. Messages left every time sound like a fax screech - very annoying!If this is a Canadian source, Canada needs to get it's act together and block these bozos!!!!

For those of you who think the Police will help you... get a grip! The government agents (including the police) are not mandated to HELP YOU! They don't care... PERIOD! I recently received calls from this number. It is irritating. If they are tele-marketeers, I find that they do not have any marketing strategy at all. I do emphatise with their clients/vendors. How can they expect to obtain positive results when no one answers on their end. Strange but True!!!!

Received 3 calls from this number today at the office.  Takes at least 3 attempts to hang-up on the annoying beep.  Don't even have a fax # associated with this phone, so i am not sure what number they are looking for me to have deleted.

416-252-6200 is no longer in service so that's a dead-end unfortunately. Apparently dialling back the fax, hitting the digit they prompt you with the 00151 and your number should remove you from their list. 5 Minutes, so far so good

I've received the faxes. They have a removal number that is connected to a clever system that removes your number only from a single ad 'campaign', so that they can look like they are meeting legal requirements, while protecting their master list for future campaigns. They also list the removal website 'nothx.com' and I did a 'whois' search, and they are owned by a company called 'activecore technologies'. Trying to navigate their website is implossible because of 'login' requirements, but from the whois record, their phone number is 416-252-6200 x314 - I don't feel like calling long distance, but if anyone in Toronto wants to give it a try....

I just got two calls from the number 416-847-1151 today.  I also get the annoying beep.  The "do not cal" registry obviously didn't work.  I've called the number suggested for Joe Oliva and I've left a message for him to remove my number from the call list or else I'm calling the police.  I've also registered a "call trace" using *57.
