Rafael Ferraro called me today on my Ford 150, I just listed on the auto trader, Same speech. "I can guarantee your vehicle sold at its asking price for 199" I knew it was him off the bat and as soon as i called him on it, he hung up. he said his company is now FirstChoiceAutoFinder.ca. Do these guys ever learn?

Was curious and looked into it. Chris Davidson does own Canadian Automotive Registries and according to his registered address is still in Calgary, the Idiot's parents numbers are even listed in the phone book. The police have told me they are fully aware of him at this point.

Fail. Looked into it. Canadian Automotive Registries is owned and operated by Christopher Davidson in Calgary and according to the RCMP has been active for several years, using different names.. I did track Chris Johnston down, he is living with his sister in Burnaby British Columbia... LOL, according to the records his company has been inactive for a while, he claims his company was never used for online advertisement.

Found out who owns the business did a search on the business name and this idiot registered it as a incorporated business. His full name is Christopher James Johnston and his last registered address which his father picked up at was in Cranbrook in British Columbia I've contacted the police but if anyone would like to set up court please let me know I'll check the posts I'd like to see this a***ole behind bars!

Raphael called me today with the same pitch.  He's the 5th person with the same type of sales pitch that I've had over the past week.  Everyone comes in with the same offer "I've got a buyer, willing to pay more than you're asking".  "Guaranteed sale within 3 weeks or your money back".  Haven't agreed to going with anyone 'cause if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.  One guy stopped calling me after I told him that I worked for CTV.  If anyone calls and guarantees you the sale of your car for more than you're asking, tell them that you'll take your chances.  Good luck.

Got a call from Matthew in Calgary. Fed me the same story, I'll sell your truck in week, it's $159, full refund if not sold in 10 days, just send the receipt back to us and we'll refund you, buyer can pay in cash... He put me on hold to connect me to the "financial department" to walk me through sending them an email money transfer but came back on the line saying they were busy and that he would do it. I followed along and sent it to autoregistries@revenue.com, Suite 260 - 919 Centre Street, Calgary. At the end of the 20 minute phone call, in which I asked A LOT of questions, I asked him why he didn't ask me for my personal info, name, address, phone # and he finished the conversation quite abruptly saying all my info was in the autotrader ad and would come with the email transfer. I hung up and called him back at the # he gave me. He answered professionally but when I had someone else call back from a different number there was no answer. I immediately cancelled the email transfer and that a**hole had the balls to call me back about an hour later asking where the money was!! Oh Yeah, he also told me they were affiliated with "Motor World" magazine.

I was called by Auto Registries this week and they said they would have my vehicle sold within 2 weeks.

I listed. 8 days later i was contacted by someone who had i guess used them for financing. They came out yesterday looked at the vehicle and bought it.

It was pretty painless. Makes you wonder.

Hey. I was scammed by the Canadian Auto Registries as well. Except they charged my credit card twice with the $159 fee! I had them on the phone a couple times shortly after to demand my money back and they wanted my banking information. Are they crazy??? I feel stupid enough that I fell for it, but I really needed to sell my car. As much as I want my money back, I just want to see these a***oles go down. What can we do???

Hi all! Just got a call from this little goof chris johnson @ 403-984-2744. His bs story to me was that he'd guarantee the sale of a vehicle I had posted on another website within a week at full asking price. Being that I have managed numerous car dealerships over the years I asked him to explain how his deal works to buy out vehicles within a week if they don't sell, and also asked if he could fax over a legal doc. to that effect that my lawyer could notorize. He then changed his story to "I'll refund your $150 at the end of a week if it doesn't sell" lol. Funny, now looking at the website, it says 90 days, which is obviously bs too! People!!!!!Please do NOT fall for idiots running boiler rooms! If you are desperate to offload a vehicle due to financial problems or the like, check with your local(accredited dealerships) Used car managers will generally purchase vehicles on the spot if the price is right. No, you won't get retail, however if you do strike a deal that's agreeable you will get a cheque in hand(that you can actually cash!)and if there is any type of problem at least you have some recourse and a person you can physically confront over it. Remember the internet can be a great tool for legit companies....it is also a WONDERFUL tool for scammers. Beware all!!! ;0) -Matt

I received a call from a Melissa last week about my ad in the Autotrader saying that for 150$ they would sell my car within the week.  She said I needed to act fast because she was leaving for the day and that I just had to transfer money from my bank account to their account.  That's when I told to myself, this is to good to be true.  When someone of some company is putting pressure on you to use their services, there's something fishy there.  Hopefully everybody will be able to get their money back and that the police be involved in this matter.

Has anyone heard anthing back from their report with the RCMP?  We need to get this company off-line.

Yup, these guys are CROOKED. They said they would sell our car for 2000 more than listed in the AutoTrader. And that they had A PERSON WANTING IT TOMORROW. I refused to pay the 150 upfront. They said they would have someone come with a money order to buy, then i can pay the 150. YA RIGHT. Nobody showed, and have not heard from them since. Melissa from Calgary was the gals name. SCAM SCAM SCAM. They always called from a blocked number and when i called there office a answer machine picked up with a general voice mail.
What loosers.

I fell for this and paid $160, now I am not getting any response from them. I wonder, if we should get Silverman Help on CityTV, this should be shown on TV so people are more aware about the scams of this company.

Got a call, asked for my money, was about to send it until I googled it and found this page.  He tried to convince me that people who fill out the form get their money back.   I put him on the defensive by mentioning his review and he was not shocked about it.  He said the information on their website is legally binding.  Ohh well, i think i just saved my money!

Was coming back home on the highway and got a call about my POS beater car that I am looking to sell.  At first she (Melissa) sounded extremely interested asking about the cars condition, mileage, etc...then she explained that she represented a pool of potential buyers through Canadian Auto Registeries.  Since I work in finance for a major automotive manufacturer I told her I found it strange that I had never heard of them.  Her pitch of charging me $150 to sell my car was absurd.  Everyone please be cautious of these scammers.  I am going to follow up with my contacts in the auto sector to see what we can do about these folks.  As well 'Melissa' called me from a restricted number
