Received a call from this number,  the call display had "UKNOWN NAME".   When I piecked up it was dead air for about 15 seconds then a recording of a computer voice (female) said 'good-bye'.

Weird.  I expect to hear from them again soon.

Yup. So they're even calling on the afternoon of December 24th. Because of course on the afternoon of Christmas Eve, naturally you are going to be hyper-focused on the state of your air ducts!

When they call me I say

"Hello thank you for calling A-1 duct cleaning services how may I help you?"

soooo rude!!!!! told him I have not duct work in this house and slam! he slammed down the phone!
wait till they call again!!! sure come clean my duct work!!!

I've finally found a solution. I tell them to come out to give me an estimate everytime they call. I make the appointment time for when I won't be home just to waste THEIR time. One time I was home, I trapped the guy in the driveway and spent the next twenty five minutes trying to sell him an old bike that my kids outgrew. He kept saying he wasn't interested, I told him I keep saying the same thing to the duct-cleaning salesman so we're even.

Monkey calls and reads his monkey script to me.  I tell him "no thanks because my ducks are already clean because I keep them in the bathtub".  Monkey asks "How do I get my ducks to stay in a bathtub?"  And then monkey asks "What is a bathtub, please?"

NOTE: A monkey is a criminal who invades my privacy by coming into my living room univited and attempts to scam me out of my hard earned money.  It is time to cull the herd to improve our species.

I keep getting calls from this number telling me about their duct cleaning services. I ant it to STOP.

These guys called me AGAIN today while I was watching a movie on demand. I paused it and finally asked to record the conversation "because I work for a newspaper". I even put a positive spin on it by claiming the recording was so I can write about what an excellent company they are, and thus promote it on my consumer article, but I had the "Cast Away" paused and it timed out, started to play(the plane crash scene no less) and all of a sudden he hangs up. They offered to clean my house top to bottom and claimed to know the square footage which, admittidley. I have no clue if they were right or not. Once I brought up recording his voice started to sound panicky. He then quickly asked to put me on hold to speak to his manager and as soon as he came back on the sound of the Apocolypse was coming out of my TV. That was it. He hung up.

They called here in Ottawa a few minutes ago. They also called last week, it's the Air Duct Cleaning Services again. Summited another report to DNCL for what it's worth.

This number calls every day 2 to 5 times a day weekends please people dont have lifes...some of us do and it's getting anowing have this number call all the time

I understand these calls are originating from call center in Lahore Pakistan so the DNCL doesn't apply. They use an autodialer thus the multiple phone numbers. Duct Cleaning Services has an office in Toronto, Allness Dr. Downswview outsourcing the jobs landed by the call center.

Does it make you feel better about yourself to call people you will never see face to face a moron?

if the business is legitimate, it is a coward who conceals his/her identity
how come you can't call them back?  How is it that they can have their phone line blocked, but they can call anyone.  My concern is that sometimes kids answer the phone, and they hang up.  Crreepy!  I hope you land in jail

I picked up a tel. and there he was for the 100 th time telling me about "DUCT CLEANING" I said in very loud voice, if he calls again, I will find him and NAIL his A.....S to a bulletin board!!!!!
So far so good-two weeks no calls

Please don't doubt that the Canadian gov't can fine these companies!  They can and have done so.  One company in India was fined $250,000 for recalling telephone numbers on the no-call list.  Send your complaints to the gov't;  with enough complaints, they will follow-up and charge these idiots.

No message but this number has called too moften and even though it was reported to CRTC as I am on the DNCL nothing happens. When will the CRTC wake up and do something to get these people off the telephone.

I agree and I handle unknown numbers the same way...Just ignore them!

Ok.. all you people that think the DO NOT CALL LIST has anything to do with stopping telemarketer calls..

This wonderful thing we got many years ago called "the Internet", opened an abundance of avenues for all kinds of communications we may still be unaware of..

One being VoIP, VoIP allows digital, virtual telephony.. place calls from anywhere in the WORLD, to anywhere in the WORLD.
Next they can even pick whatever phone number they want to be call displayed and after you ban that number, next week they pick a differrent number, so it's a loosing battle.

Just as easy as it was for IBM, Microsoft, Bell Canada, etc. to have people in India answer their support lines, it is that easy to call your home number from anywhere in the world. If they have your name and address and obviously your phone number (which shouldn't surprise you), this information is available to anyone from many sources.

Although the telemarketer may say they represent a local business, that doesn't mean they are calling from that local business (they were only hired by someone, to make these annoying calls), they are more than likely not in Canadian borders, which unfortunately makes them exempt from the Canadian DO NOT CALL LIST.. The "DO NOT CALL LIST" lost before it could really get going, only because of the Internet, VoIP and off shore telemarketers. The Canadian DO NOT CALL LIST only applies to telemarketers within Canadian borders and I don't think there are any left here.

If you wish to complain to someone, get the name and phone number of the company the telemarketer represents, then make your complaints to that company..


Side Note..
I've always wondered if we all feel and treat the telemarketer the same way when he/she calls, then why are there still telemarketers.. Surely telemarketing is a business and any business to keep alive must be able to achieve results for their customers.
The only reason there can still be telemarketers, is that they are getting results, so at what percentage of calls per day does a telemarketer need in order to prove it's worth?

And of course if there are results, then not all of us feel the same way toward the telemarketer !!!

416-848-6306 is a duct cleaning company.  If you live in Canada and are on the DNCL report this phone number each time(it has to be each time so that DNCL knows how many time they ignore the DNCL list)
