To-day, Monday, 31 Dec. 2012,  at 3:31 P.M. , I have got a call from this number 416-900-2928. I pick up nobody answered.  I called this number back. I got this message saying ( the mail box is full and no more messages will accepted).  Strange!!!!?

Received calls from this number......no answer...just harassment.....sounds like Bell wanting old customers back...just ignore and won't answer any more calls

I've been bombarded with scammers ever since I got a listed phone number.  I now post complaints on Canada's CRTC Do Not Call Registry AND email to the RCMP's PhoneBusters (info@antifraud.ca).  I told them I'd file a complaint for every scam call, and do.  So good luck to them - because I'm rarely home. My next number will be Unlisted (and no that doesn't stop robo-random-dialers).

So thanks for these postings about 'Revenge Numbers'.  Will file a complaint for this number too.  If we wll did.....be part of the Solution.

Bell or any other customers - insist on activating the Telemarketing Exclusion Code on both your phone number and voicemail account.  Its free.  Otherwise, they not only list your public number but do direct-to-voicemail marketing.  Call and complain; remind that you do not want their Business Partners doing direct marketing either.  And file a complaint with CRTC if they don't listen - the Telcos in Canada get fined for non-compliance if enough of us stick together and MAKE it work!

I just got the same extra number service with Bell. I guess we look like fresh meat to the telemarketers.

I HAD ONE NUMBER THAT WOULD GET THESE CALLS. AFTER GETTING BELL ANSWERING SERVICE ON MY PHONE LINE I HAD AN OPTION FOR 5 SERVICES SO I PICKED OUT AN EXTRA PHONE LINE WITH DISTINCTIVE RING FOR A FAX NUMBER  AND RINGS TO MY LINE - NOW ALL MY CRANK MARKETING CALLS ARE STARTING FROM THE BEGINNING WITH THIS NEW NUMBER !!!!!!!!!

got call from 416-900-2928 - no-one responded when I answered the phone

The calls are just a nuisance..from what i see in the messages, the calls are from Bell Camada/ they are trying to get old customers back.....
Tired of all this carry on.......

I had a call from this number yesterday on my work number. It went onto answer phone and they have left a message of a Indian accent guy singing then saying something like being at my home, kitchen, work........very weird!!!

If you can't resist the temptation to answer your phone, tell them you want a quote for duct cleaning, then tell them you live in apartment 203.

I have call display that appears on my phone and on my TV screen.   If I don't recognize the number the phone never gets answered .....simple.    Ringing lasts 10 seconds.

This is a strange number. We also have distinctive ringers for local and for long distance calls.
This number  rings as a long distance, but it should ring as a local call.  
What we see is the number 416-900-2928, but they must be calling from another one.
So, this must be a fraud. Why would an honest business do such a thing?

It's Bell Canada telemarketing!! after i told them today i don't want telemarketing calls they hung up on me now keep calling and hanging up when i answer.

I keep getting a call from 4169002927 and the caller does not respond when I answer.  I am sure that since you sell phone numbers that you have a record of the caller and could have him dealt with so that I do not have to receive these nuisances any more

here's an idea...... next time they call one of us why don't you agree to order the duct cleaning then when they show up deal with them in person

My phone has distinctive ringers for local calls and long distance calls. When I got a call from this number, my phone rang with the long distance ringer, which I found suspicious and didn't answer. I thought it might have been a telelmarketer masking its true number with a phantom number or something.

Yesterday, a representative from Bell Mobility phoned me about a promotion, but before he would describe the promotion to me, he wanted me to verify my identity by telling him my date of birth.  I told him I would not reveal any such info to him, told him I have to end the call, and then I hung up.

Today, someone called from 416-900-2928 but I didn't answer.

I don't know whether yesterday's call from Bell Mobility and today's call from 416-900-2928 are related, but I want to mention it in case someone else has the same experience.

that's so right. i recieved 2day a call from ARYANA "9054612079" and when i did'nt accept their offer i started to recieve the calls from the 2928!!!

one more piece of information, the origin of revenge numbers.

 revenge numbers werent always revenge numbers.

telemarketing people have a phone line used to see when occupants of residences are home.
its a phone number that calls people, and notes wether or not they pick up at a certain hour so other telemarketers know who to call and when.

 when the resident answers, the machine logs that the occupant has answered and hangs up.


from there this information is sent to other telemarketers so they can try you at the hours the machine says you answered the phone.

 most revenge numbers are just numbers like this one. to check if your available. and scorned telemarketers will constantly re-enter your number into the service.

however i do not believe 2928 is one of the research numbers. i believe its a mj revenge number.

Let me explain. I  have been recieving phone calls from aryana, (their numbers will  be listed at the bottom)
i kept saying take me off of your calling list i cant afford to buy anything from you.
but they kept calling.  so eventually i threatened to take legal action if they didnt stop calling me.

 thats when i started getting calls from 416 900 2928.
so i tried a test.

i called the 2928 number with my house phone, rang once then dead air.
so i called again but this time left the phone going with that number, and tried at the same time with my cell. and it said "all circuts are currently busy" .

  this is what is often reffered to as a revenge number. usually set up through magic jack or similar online connected phone lines.

 some telemarketers will send revenge numbers after you,if you tell them off or if they feel insulted.

so i called phone busters, the crtc, the police, rogers, bell, and tried online to find the base for this number and i got zilch.

so i tried calling aryana again, they pick up the phone, and immediately hang up.
so i threatened a class action suit with other people who have recieved harassing calls from aryana and the revenge number were all here talking about if the calls dont stop and if my questions arent answered.

based on the information ive accumilated through my investigations, i would appreciate any information you all can give me. phone numbers of the original telemarketers who sent the revenge number after you, so i can properly investigate this matter.

It is bell solititation....i am a bell subscriber and will be switching to rodgers...enough is enough
