They called and said my computer was being hacked and showed all these red warning signs. I'm not really computer literate so didn't know if true or not. The lady was very aggressive. Each time I hung up on her she would call back and ask me why I hung up. I told her I was gonna call the police and to kiss my axxx. She had an Indian accent. My heart told me it was a scam but they locked me out of my computer. It was horrible.

Got a call from a " private caller" who spoke with a very heavy Indian accent. Insisted I had a virus. I advise you all call the Federal Trade Commission at 877-382-4357 to log a complaint for this and any other scams. It's one of the few things we can do with these scammers that is useful.

As the scam has been running in the UK for years, Microsoft are well aware of it.  The only thing they have done is put a warning on their website.  It has also been exposed on several TV Consumer programmes. Unfortunately, many elderly people still get caught.

Got a call from a lady said they at Microsoft were getting numerous notices that my computer was having problems. She said she could transfer me to a technician who could correct the problems.
I knew the computer was infected and was working poorly. I agreed to the transfer. Then talked to a male person with a heavy accent. Had to ask him numerous time to repeat the questions he was asking. He was able to get control of my computer. He indicated the computer was heavily infected. Then he switched me over to another male person also with a heavy accent. He then made the same remarks about how heavily infected. Told me it would take about a hour and a half to fix. No amount was advised as the charge at this time. Then later when he finished he wanted $199.99 to complete the work. I gave him 2 credit cards which both got rejected. Had to approve the third card.
This took about 30 minutes. All seemed well. Then I get a call from a male person with an accent but was somewhat clearer. He said he was a supervisor and the payment did not go through. He wanted me to use Western Union to pay for the work they had done. I refused to do that. I told him I had gone to length to get the credit card company to pay and I was not going to pay him twice for the work. He was demanding so I hung up on him. Then called credit card co. and was told I could not stop payment. I contacted Norton the next day and a technician took over my computer and showed me there must be over 20,000 hacks on my computer. This told me nothing had been done or the work done before had been taken off. The technician took another 2 hour to make the correction at no cost to me. Now I am fighting with my card company to recover the $199.99 charge. Card company wants paper work and a letter from Norton verifing the work they did. Since all this was done over phone and internet there is no paper work. Norton does not want to send any letter to them. Norton did suggest they would answer any questions to verify their work. All total this scam has taken 2 day out of my life to resolve. I hope this will save some others from this SCAM. Also, Microsoft needs to be notified of how their name is being used in this scam.

I got a call about fixing hacking. He said he was from Microsoft, fastheal.net and wanted money to be sent to him by western union. I told him I had my computer serviced by a very able company. He called again and said he possessed the license of my computer and could have service to my computer stopped. I hung up on him.

On Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at 1200 PDT, I received a telephone call from "Jack" at 213-271-1645 on my caller ID.  "Jack: had an extreme non-English language accent, and it was very difficult to understand as he repeatedly ID'ed himself from Microsoft, and they tracked my computer ID that I have a virus or something which is urgent that he repair it.  It was so difficult to understand him that I had to ask for the Microsoft call-back number.  He stated that the toll-free Microsoft number is 855-731-4936 and I must ask for "Mister Shawn" immediately to fix the severe problem which they at Microsoft have tracked on my computer.  I next found this web site.  I decided to advise the corporate security team at Microsoft at 800-642-7676.  I finally got to "Vince" who understood my reporting of this scam, and he gave me the number of "Microsoft Phone Scam" security investigators at 888-382-1222.  That is the US Government "do not call" registry!!!  In summary, as a retired career law enforcement agent, Microsoft, Inc. does not even care about this apparent fraud scam!!!!

I just received a call from an Indian man who said I needed to go to my computer now so he could fix the virus' that are being reported to Windows.  I told him my husband is also and " IT guy" and I would have him look at it.  This man then started to scream at me that no one is allowed to fix these problems other than them and if I didn't get him the information now he would shut down the license to my computer and I would not be able to use it.  Well I didn't give him the info and I'm still logged on :D

Got a similar call from "Steven", strong male India accent, children noise in the bacgroung although he claimed he was calling from the office on behalf of Microsoft - Windows Services Provider - Technical Department. They were receiving error/warning messages from my computer and they needed to clean my computer. I told him I was away from my computer and I did not want to go and follow his instructions before having his name and telephone number which he gave me i.e 416-915-3536..
I then call Canada antifraud centre as suggested by another respondant above.

They have received over 20,000 complaints since last 12 months or so, about 109 calls regarding the number 416-915-3536.

Please report this infraction and make this world a better place.

Well this guy called me again last night and wanted to know why I was not co-operating with him to "fix" my computer. LOL. I told him it was just fine before he had gotten into it. I told him that I had reported him to the OPP and the RCMP and the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre and then he got pissed. He called me a "Mother F----R" and started yelling and screaming about him only trying to help. When I told him that I was recording this conversation and would be sending copies to the authouities he called me a MF again and threatened to "come up there and shoot you." I live in a small town in Northern Ontario and really want to know how he knew he had to "come up there." The OPP are taking this threat very seriously. They told me to change to an unlisted phone number and advise them immediately if I get any more suspicious calls.

Recieved this same call from a guy named Steve. Insisted that my computer has been hacked and currently generating tons of traffic on their server. Insisted that the hacker got hold of my IP and my personal data is currently being stolen by them. He said that they work for Microsoft - Window Service team to monitor windows abnormal PC activities to see if they are being hacked (what an idiot! do i really believe that Microsoft will offer free monitoring service like this). I said all my computers including my router are all shutdown and he still insists that they are currently downloading lots of stuff using my IP. Such a liar! I had to leave the house and he gave me his phone number 416-915-3536 from Toronto. Reminded me to  call him back immediately when I get home. I asked for his company name and he spelled it as Lizinso Tech which I cannot find from Google. But I manage to Google this phone number and find that it's a scam. Be careful! He talked like your house is on fire and you need to do what he told you to do immediately.

Got this call from a Richard Walter last night at 7:15 and stupid me fell for it hook line and sinker. Went through the whole thing, granted them access and I got taken to a web site called Fastheal.net and was told to connect with Technician 3. To make a long and very embarrassing story short, he told me that my MicroSoft license was being revoked because the "hackers" had gained access to it and it was now considered a pirated copy by MicroSoft. When I told him I do not have a credit card of any kind he got very upset, disabled major components of my Windows 7 and then he locked my computer. But this is not the end of the story. This morning he called back to say my "payment" had not gone through and to process it again. When I told him my computer was locked and I couldn't get into it, he said he would unlock it so that I could pay "for my assisstance last night." I then told him he was nothing more than a scam artist and that I would be contacting the police, the RCMP and the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre. He got very upset, said that now that he had my computer, I would never be able to get it back.
These guys play dirty and rough. If you do fall for this, get off the internet right away, change your passwords to anything you have them on. The CAFC is taking between 20 and 30 complaints a day about this and all they can recommend at the moment, is to get your computer to a reputable tech and have it cleaned out.

Got the same call everyone else is however on my call they claimed they were Windows Security Centre and had my name and email address and asked to verify it. I stupidly said yes and the next thing I know they were accessing my computer through a remote viewer. The caller was Richard Walter id: 132626 from the number 416-915-3536 and he was the supervisory. They emailed me from Fastheal.net and Liz Web Solutions. They threatened to pull my security licence so that my computer would be useless. I asked them the stay on the line while i called microsoft and they said no. I managed to get control of my mouse back when i told them to give me the form to pay for the security renewal and I closed them out. They were trying to link to the Bank of Baroda in India ( a well known fraudulent bank). I told them i was reporting them and hung up. Unfortunately while they were in my computer they locked me out of it by changing the password to Vista, and the windows team has been unable to help me. I'm still trying to gain access to my computer. The scam artists actually called me back at 5:30 am the next morning demanding payment again. I told them i was calling the cops and I haven't heard from them since. But this could end up costing me.
