The caller is rude and calling every day.

There is a guy who calls his name is Bobby from MGM Collections, and is a different person every time, but what they do is ask you if you are So and So... and once you say yes they say hold on... and send you to the next person who is rude and persistent on collecting for a Canadian Tire Master Card owing them $18 000. This is the part i find funny cause i tell them i have no such card and she just downright calls me a lair and wants to get my date of birth, i told her she is rude and doesn't know how to speak to people and until then i would not speak to her... its been the same woman I've spoken to for the last month...

I agree with Neel Komal we should contact RCMP for this non sense... that being said they want to get all the information on you so they can commit fraud in your name, with all your details. So best thing to do is not get angry but while they talk to you hang up on them... this will make them angry  and repeat till they stop... no need to get angry at them that will only raise your blood pressure :)

I've been receiving calls from this number and another number asking for a Morris Apland. I want to answer the phone and tell them that it's a wrong number, however, from all the research I've done it seems as though they will not take no for an answer. I'm almost on the verge of changing my phone number -- again.

I got a phone call from this (416-935-2840) number today. She asked me one of my coworker. I said that he no longer work for us, but still she calls me every day and asking for the same person. I think these people are from collection agency.

I don't know who these f***ers are but they keep calling during the day.  They never leave messages so I don't even know who they are looking for.  I work nights so I am asleep when they call.  When you call back the displayed number, you get a voice mail.  

Anyone have a dress on these guys?  I would like to make a personal visit.

these dumb a***oles keep calling my number asking for someone who doesn't live here!  I've told them this a million times!  Actually am going to call the BBB or report them to phone busters bc this is ridiculous!

Angry fellow keeps ringing and ringing...ties up my business line and my cell line.  Costs me greatly in opportunity costs, as my phones are my tools of business.  I have to wait until it stops ringing, and often he calls when I am on a call, so I have to listen to this while trying to do business.  Seems to be a debt collector, but he is so rude (based on the one time I actually conversed with him), and despicable in behaviour that I cannot imagine he is any good at his job.

I'll see if I can block the number.

Rude is only the half of it -- he tried to get me to give him bank account information so that he could set up payment plans with American Express for me.  When I said no thank you the rudeness really started.  I called AmEx and they have no idea what is going on.

Got a call from 416-935-2840 with a demand to call 866-251-2396.  The caller left no info on who he was or what company he was calling for.

This is yet another contact number for Collectcorp Corporation.

Who ever this company is, they called this morning at 5:50 AM!!!   Asked for a man by first name only... I was sound asleep when this jerk called. (as most are at this time on a Saturday morning). I think he realized by the tone of my voice that I was NOT impressed by a call at 5:50 in the am. THIS IS ILLEGAL!  I was going to start yelling at him and he very quickly said "ooh sorry I have the wrong number" CLICK! he hung up before I could say anything. I also think he realized that he had called before legal calling time.

Since I now make half what I did 3 years ago I am behind on (2) items, Bof A credit card and Chase Mortgage. I have been getting as many as 15 calls a day on those two accounts over the last year. The 416 number is just the latest collection agency to call. I never answer them but they call my home phone number and then my cell phone one minute later. Most of the time they just hang up but a couple times a week they read the carefully worded script about how this is an attempt to collect a debt and if you are not (blank) do not listen to this call, yahda, yahda. There are three levels to the collection process. First is primary which is where the original company, say B of A calls you and trys to collect from you. Then they turn the account over to a outside collection agency, called secondary collection. Then comes the third level called tercentenary. They are usually the most aggressive and the most obnoxious. After that they will take you to court and attempt to get a judgement to try and attach wages, bank accounts, and tax refunds. Bankruptcy is not as easy as it use to be but is probably better than putting up with the harassing phone calls.

we have the power to stop these people.  do 2 things.  first, do no let them upset you.  make it into t a game.  keep them on the phone as long as possible.  remember, they get paid to coerce you into paying.  keeping them on the phone is a waste of their time and shrinks their paychecks.  give them TONS of incorrect information.  wrong phone numbers, wrong names, wrong addresses, wrong employment information, wrong email addresses.  remember the old adage about date collecting "garbage in-garbage out".  second, take their phone number and CALL THEM back.  call them A LOT.  call them 24 hours a day.  during the day, tie up their phone lines.  remember, a lof of the time, they have toll free numbers.  this means that they are paying for all the time you are on their lines.  call them a million times after they have closed.  block your number by dialing *67 before you dial the area code and phone number.  leave strange messages for every voicemail.  think about how long it will take them to sort through the messages.  laugh your a** off.  and finally, cut and past this message into every message board you can think of.  send a chain email to all your friends.  revolution is contagious!!

So I got this number on my cell phone caller ID with a Toronto, ON service area but no other information. I tend not to answer calls that have 800 #'s on my cell but I almost answered this one because I have family in the Toronto area. Instead I let it go to voicemail and expected a message from a family member when the I checked voicemail. Not so, it was some guy warning me to hang up if I wasn't XXXXX because the message contained personal information. Obviously a telemarketer of some sort, or a scam. Here is the scary part, I am American, I live in the US and haven't lived in Canada or even hardly visited Canada since I graduated university a decade ago. This is scary, because I've only had this cell number for a couple of years... These people need investigation!

Got a very rude message from same no. Sarcastic!  Wouldn't give me any info because of privacy act so I wouldn't give them any info either.  If it is a collection agency they at least could mention what company they are acting for etc. Better customer relations should be trained before they phone. Got a call from an eastern speaking woman who said she would only listen and wouldn't tell me what she wanted...very odd....

I received a call - I woman with an Indian accent wanted my date of birth and address; She said we had to discuss a personal financial matter.  I do not have any credit cards so I knew she was full of s***; The caller id comes up Toronto Ontario.
I asked the woman what it was regarding she said she cant tell me till she verifies my address and birthdate; I said tell me what You have; She asked again for my birthday and address; i politly told her to get a real life and hung up.

Got a call from this ID on my husband cell. the badly was someone (cannot remember the guy s name) told me our company got big problem......my husband not in country .so  i just want to know who is him and which company is he from...but he refused to tell me ..and told me that is by law with out my husband permit......ridiculous!!! I just want to the company;s name .....He just keeping talking ...i cannot talk...and I hung up.I check this number on Google got your guys report...understand what happened.  He try to call me couple times  and then I told him if he keep calling, i will call 911....Finally i got peace again.....

Got a call from this number on my cell.  prior too this my home land line was called yet that listed the number "Out of Area"  Message on land line; "I have important business matter",  message on Cell; I have wonderful news to tell you".  
Person was not rude but attempted to sound as if they were of some superior status authority.

Weird call; she sounds like a teenager and says her name is Sarah (but doesn't mention any company name), asks for someone by name, saying "it's a personal matter". When I ask if it's sales/telemarketing, she says no (and re-states the 'personal matter' part of the script, to which i say "is this a collections call?" just to hear her tell me it's a personal matter for a third time). She again states who she's looking for, I intimate that I may know this person. She either doesn't notice or doesn't really care, because she says "obviously, you can't help me" and hangs up! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA - serves you right for calling me! I don't think she was expecting all the questions, but hey, if you're calling my number I want to know why! Now go get a real job, you bottom-feeding wretch!

Called at 6:41 AM - isn't there a law against that? Oh wait! There is! Now I can't wait until he calls back ;)

You should NEVER give out personal information to unsolicited callers!  That is how identity theft happens.

I think these numbers may be related as I've had hang up's and if you are so and so please call XXXXXX. I am not returning the calls because I am not "so and so" and I'm tired of telling these fools they have the incorrect phone number.

Called at work by these people. Connection was not good, but tried to tell me I owed $6000.00 from years ago to Radio Shack. Seems strange as my credit report was clear a year ago?
The charges were done on a similar name to mine but not mine proper.
Told them not to call me at work again and I wasn't paying for something I didn't charge even if they have my s.i.n. which seems to be too easy for people to get these days

I received a call- I have a cc payment that was in dispute and they told me they were sending me to a collection agency so when they called from this # today I spoke with someone and gave them all my info.......as far as expenses, verified address and bday, etc.........
he was a total jerk and kept talking over me -tried to get me to access a credit card that I had not activated to pay off this other disputed debt - I told him he was way off base and hung up on him - is there any way to stop this guy from calling or is it time to get a lawyer?
