I received a call from a guy with a very strong indian accent (so strong I could hard understand him). Same scenario, he is from Microsoft and my computer has been sending error messages to them and may be infected. He instructed me to hit the window key + R at the same time. I asked for his phone number, he put someone else on the line. Another guy, same accent also tried to get me to hit the window key + R. I asked for his phone number. He provided 323-647-4977. I told him I was busy and was doing not such thing right now. I told him I would call them back. He said he would call me back in one hour. I knew it was a scam. When he calls back I plan to mess with him a little bit and give him the same crap he is dishing out. Then I plan to invite him over to meet the end of my gun before we hang up. LOL!!!! Gotta just love those stupid scammers!

This is a major scam that tries to scare you into thinking your computer is infected with and spreading a virus. They claim to be a outside source hired by Microsoft oy Symantec to help you repair your computer. Give them no information and do not start to do what they ask you to do with your computer. If you have the time keep them on the line as long as you can so they do not have less time to try and scam someone else.

Received a call from this number. Sounded like a cell with a bad signal, so I hung up. He called right back, still bad signal, but I heard him say there were several issues with my computer. I said no there's not and he started to argue with me. I hung up again.

Just had a call from a heavily accented Indian man claiming to work for Microsoft and demanding that I have a security issue with my computer laptop.  When pressed for a call back number, he provided 323-647-4977.  I knew it was a scam and didn't provide him with any information.

Thank you for those links.  I will definitely be contacting Toronto Police Service to report this scammer.  I also invite all the other people reporting this phone number on this website, to do the same by calling any Toronto Police Station, or by contacting the main Toronto Police switchboard at 416-808-2222.

My mom got a call 6:10pm 14 Nov. The caller claimed to be "John Mathews"  and was calling on behalf of the Federal Government. He knew her first name and he did not have an accent. He told her one of the computers in the house has a program on it that it is not suppose to have. She asked him several times for his work number so she could call him back.  After he refused to give her the number, she hung up on him.

7 Nov 13 @ 4:10pm  Call received from 416-954-4694.  Dead air then an automated voice saying good bye.

VM: clipped message. sounded like automated dialer.

My mom got a call from a heavily Indian accented man claiming to a "John Matthews". He said our computers (10-15 of them.. we are a normal household...) had been hacked and he wanted my mom to go on the computer and do a bunch of stuff to fix it. My mom said she didn't know how to operate computers very well and asked him to call the Ontario Provincial Police to come to our house to help her. The man promptly hung up on her. Such a scammer.

Got a call on October 9 at 7:59 p.m.  Caller was a male, indian accent.  He demanded to speak with me.  He knew my full name and previous address.  Kind of spooky!  I asked for his name, after a hard time he said he was "Shawn Williams".  He was very rude and kept asking to speak with me...I denied that I was the person he was looking for and he asked for my name.  I asked him why he'd want my name and he said I had a nice voice.  I then told him that this must be a crank call and hung up.  

Got a call on Oct-08 at 7:45 pm, said that the call from some company (not heard it clearly) on behalf of Canada Protection Agency, that my computer was hacked by some third party and they were asking money on behalf of my name. But as his voice was not clear, I ask them about their phone no to call back, he gave me the no, 323-647-4977 and his name is Shawn William. when I searched for this no on internet, shows that, it's belongs to Los Angeles.

Got call 6pm on Oct 2.  Heavy accent (Indian) voice claiming to be from government and telling me my computer had been hacked.  Enjoying fantasy, I asked him how he knew.  He attempted some weak explanation and said if I gave him some security reference he could help me fix it. I got bored and hung up.

Received a call from this number at 12:02 p.m. on October 1, 2013, which I answered as it appeared to be a local caller.  Only 'dead air' for several seconds until an automated voice said "Good Bye."
Checked the number and found this site.  I don't know who the caller was, but I will now block the number.

Called at 11:56 AM saying (in a heavily accented voice) that his name was "Shawn Williams" and claiming that my computer was having problems. I hung up.
