Today, I got the same kind of call from 647-748-1600 and caller ID showed Ontario Police AND  from the guy named Sunny Bains...he told me the same story that he is calling from Ontario Police and collecting donations to publish a book and was asking me $195...he tried to sound bit harsh and pretending to be a cop...I came across this thread and some other thread that help me and I saved my money...

Thanks Joanne..Its great that you put the numbers.  I received the same call today from the same number. I am thankful I came across this thread.  The name he person left is Al. Called from the Ontario Police Public Safety. It's crazy that people can do this using the authorities name.  Crazy.

Thanking God that I came across this tread.  I received this call today and was worried wondering why I was receiving a call from the police. I questioned why the person left his first name and stated the company at the end of the message.  Seeing this I am thankful. The number that called is also 416 963 1444.  Usually an officer would state his rank and name and not just his first and hang up.  

Warkes it is shady you wanna know why he's my convicted rapist yes that's right his name is Jacques Clifford mayer he raped me in 1986 was charged originally with forcible confinement aggravated Sexual assault indecent sexual assault attempted murder assault causing Bodily harm.he also was charged with raping a Seven year old Child Christmas day of 1986 .I had to go through a lifetime of flashbacks in In 1987 he was convicted of 2 counts of sexual assault spent two of three years in Warkworth penitary

wow ok so we paid them a year ago and they came and collected 276.85 today and I questioned WHY am I paying tax on a donation???  my husband said give the donation and I came to google and found this thread!!  I'm so annoyed that he has let these people cheat him.  HOW can they have a number associated with the police and it be legal?????

I got the call last week from Bill Knight, for advertisement,  in their independent magazine, they send me last three years copies of the magazines, they look good, and I saw in each magazine they have notification that it's an independent magazine, no links to any police force or any government agency, magazines they print have facts and information which I believe are help full to the community and kids.  It may not generate too much business for me but I did for the good  cause!

I received call from #, I called them back , gentle man told me it's an independent publication try to prevent crime, by putting together magazine, rising crime in GTA it's about time to put this kind of the magazine. Great idea. Keep up the good work.

The same situation as above happened with us also.
Lastly, he emailed us about the invoice how much do we have to pay him.
I'm wondered why this guy so pushy and why he has to force how much to donate.
That's why I went on Internet to check and show that they are scam.

Don't pay them and don't let them bother you.  It's a scam!!!!
If they come to your place I recommend to take them a photo.

I got a missed called from the name of 'Ontario Police'. I called back to found that they are supporting community, next day I got a call from 'Annonoys' number confirming my address that they will send the driver and told me to deliver the cheque in the name of 'Ontario Police When the guy came to pick the cheque, I asked him about the organizatio, he says he is just a volunteer. The certificate they issued does not even show the word 'Ontario Police' clearly. It is like a scam

I received the call around seven, from this number, from Allen West, he explain to me that he was calling me from Ontario Police Public Safety News, which he explain to me that it's an independent & non political community publication, committed to public safety and public awareness, I found it very cheap to advertise in this magazine, I am placing to an ad. to help the magazine publish

John Knight called serval times to our company and asked for the owner. He told us he is represented Ontario Police and asked a clime support sponsorship. When the next day a man came and showed us the invoice, it's like a piece of paper that that photocopied numerous times and used a typewriter to type the amount and name of the bill to invoice with an unclear company sign. We asked the man if he can provide us a Ontario Police business card and he replied he was only a driver to pick up a cheque. We went to internet and checked his company and found out it's a private company that published magazine; we questioned the driver your company was a private company and nothing deal with Ontatio Police, why you said you represented Ontario Police. At that moment we refused for the sponsorship and he suddenly screamed to us " you wait until the police is going to charge you 10 x $10000 for your refuse" and he slamed the door and left. 10 mins after our call display show "Ontario Police" call again......What the hell he wants again!!!???

I Keep recieving same calls from them. I almost promised with them with advertising, Thank God found this thread. I am wondering where to call and complain?

Total Scam. I have paid these scammers over past 2-3 years and the junky they send to collect money never has more than an invoice. Never recieved a magazine or a certificate which is always promised. When I told the intimidating caller last time the owner is not here is words were ' isn't his name xxxx or some S***, '

I am going to there listed address and then lodging a complaint with the consumer protection bureau.  
Every one here please call the bureau and complain and call OPP to complain so that people who are intimidated and scammed get relief.

same here this Alex Syed called numerous times. when you will answer the phone he will say, i am frrom Ontario Police and we are soliciting donations for publication of our magazine in your area. we would like to promote your business, that there is such a business in an address .... initially i didn't say yes, he said he will call back again

the following day, he said he will be dropping by to collect the cheque to pay for an annual publication the cost is $195; he will give the certificate of appreciation and a copy of invoice for tax purposes. then he came that day and i ask  the driver for the certificate but the driver said he doesnt' have it because it is not printed or whatever and as soon as he  gets the cheque he quickly left. but the invoice that this SCAMMER issued, looks like a piece of paper that that photocopied numerous times and used a typewriter to type the amount and name of the bill to invoice.... wow they scammed me .the following day, i brought the invoice to the police station and they confirmed that this organization is not collected  to them at all. they took my complain and photocopied the invoice of $195+ tax..

This guy named Alex Syed is relentless, he keeps calling and demanding payment. He asks for the owner and faxes an invoice then asked what time we close here so he can come pick up the cheque. I do not know how the actual police allow these type of people to scam companies.
They should be shut down.

this company/ affliates tries to get donations and advertising in a book that never has been published !
they were previously located with many different phone numbers located in downsview, then missauaga, then in peterbrough, yorkville, liberty village, etc... they keep changing locations names (which is similar in matter) telephone numbers 416-963-1444, 6477485900, and business owners (whom which i was told are investors from overseas and never set foot in the company)

Dear friend, I have received the phone call from the call display "Ontario Police Public...." with the number 416-916-0489, (416-560-4503) the misleads  me that they are on behalf of Ontario Police something, I was in a meeting and I simply told them I may concern to sponsor them, then second day I have received tons of the phone call to chased me to issue the "payment", I've been misleads over the phone call, especially the gentleman who spoke with me over the phone was really dominate,rude, seems I owe a payment and mandatory to pay them back, it's really up set me, i search online for help, I found this site that I can share this story with everyone, please do taking serious consideration before you answer those guys phone call, make sure you knew where is your $$$ goes too, I'm not sure if any law or policy that we can use to protect ourselves, also BELL Canada or Rogers shouldn't even allow them to display the  "Ontario Police Public...." ....Best wishes everyone !

Bill Knight from this number called and called and called trying to get me.  He was beligerent with my staff.  When I finally took his call, he said he implied he was with the OPP.   Selling ad space in a 'Police Year Book' promoting not drinking and driving.  He said we had 'supported' them last year, which we hadn't.  He wouldn't even tell me direclty what he was looking for.  He hung up on me when I said we weren't interested if it was advertising he was selling.

received numerous missed calls from these scammers. They claim to be affiliated with police organizations' publications to scam money for advertising. Can't imagine how they can continue.

I wonder why?  Questionable integrity? Anyone that uses Ontario Police in their name and has nothing to do with Policing is blantant misrepresentation .. $$$$$$ is the motivator.

And Who Does Not Want To Speak To Police Officers.

To Make A Long Story Short - The Person Who I Had Spoken To At ONTARIO POLICE PUBLIC SAFETY Refused To Speak To Me Or Answer Any Of My Questions Because They Thought I Was A Police Officer . . .
