this number called my wifes phone number this morning and asked for me and when i came on the phone the caller hung up.

This number is what comes up from my parents when they call me. It is Distributel long-distance plan dial-first number. Anyone who uses Distributel for their long distance package will show this number on caller ID. Not unique to one user.

Called saying they were looking for my daughter because ohip card was returned then called her claiming to be canada post also the caller was a woman with Scottish accent who first called my cell then my house how are these people getting our numbers

I applied for a modeling shoot on kijijji for my daughter. They called me back but I had missed it and left a message. I tried to call back and it came to a dial tone(Wasn't working)!! I didn't know this was a scam im glad I missed the call and didn't give my information.

do you no what collection agency it was? because I just got the same phone call...

got two calls today did not answer no messages  left when i call back i only get dial tone what kind of scam is going on here.

This number is long distance provider. Companies use this number to save money on long distance calls, almost like using a calling card. The company calls this number first, then enters in the number they want to call and it redirects the call. Basically anyone could use this number if the company has an account setup with them.

Just received a call from some lady saying that they she was from health Canada and that they had 2 health cards returned as wrong address. They told me my sisters name and the I was listed as her emergency contact. At first it seemed normal as I know my niece recently applied for a new health card. I gave her my sisters number to call but said I didn't k is her address. I felt uneasy after I got off the phone so I did *69 and called the number back 416-969-5000 sure enough not a legit number. So I googled it and find this site. How is it they are still getting away with this?? I've called easy home directly and ripped them a new one. And I also plan on forwarding this information to the police and fraud department. IT IS ILLEGAL to impersonate any government office it is fraud and it is harassment. I suggest each and every other person that has this issue does the same thing!!!

Just got a call she said she was with Canada Post, Priority Courier with a package that needed a signnature.  Could not get in touch with them when I phoned back.

It is a collection agency, they called me looking for my brother. Said they were from canada post, and they was trying to deliver a check. After a little research found out company worked with easyhome collection. I have filed a fraud charge against them.Never is a company allowed to say they are someone or work for some either then themselves.Canada post is taking there legal procedures against them.

Just got a call from this phone number they asked for my address to send my daughter's health card. I feel like such a jack*** because I gave it to them!!! F*** easy home.. I bet that is who it was. Doesn't matter because I don't have any of their cap here.

I received a call from this number they said they were Canada post with a package for me from Toronto , so I asked what the sending address was on the package / or return address if you will and she started yelling at me telling me do you want it or not its just one more package for my driver not to take and I don't care if you get your mail lol at that point I just hung up .I can only assume its a collector.

this number belongs to a long distance provider named Distributel.
My dentist uses it when he calls me. Anyone can use it I guess, including collection agencies.
If a collection agency is after you it is best to just deal with them, pay what you owe.
I think that if someone were trying to SCAM you they would need your credit card info or you bank info or they might try to sell you something. I dont think anyone can do anything with just your address and phone number - just sharing my thoughts. Have a nice day ;)

The number that shows up is from Distributel but it just means the caller is using their long distance service. The call could be from anyone. This is the number that showed, so I checked it (obviously) but it belonged to a customer and was a legit call. So while it is Distributel, the long distance service number is just 'hiding' the ID of one of their customers - it could be anyone.

Scottish lady told me she was from Ontario Heath and my ex wife's health card got sent back. And was pressing me for info on her where abouts. It's a scam report them to the police.

Did not answer phone when I called back to this number dead line they called at 8:00 a.m.

Just got a call from this number, looked it up as it was ringing, saw all your posts, didn't answer...THEN they called under an unknown number, so being prepared I answered and they asked for susan (my phone used to belong to susan) i said she wasn't home right now, They lady said oh this is Canada Post and we have a parcel for her.  I told the lady that what she was doing is illegal and that she should be ashamed of herself.  Thank you to everyone who posted on here!

calling leamington ontario today,, what can they do with my address and phone number?

i got a call last night , i hadnt, it did seems odd but i fell a fool too they said it was about my healthcard renewing,,,and as luck has it i actually have to renew it, but what can they get from me, i have no valid bank a ccount right now, no credit card only a bell line,, and debts on easyhome and other creditors, are th ey gonna show up at my  door, trying to arrest me for not paying bills  and returning their easyhome product or are they totally a seperate company,,they call my friend too and thats how they got my number

Called from 4169695000 a woman who spoke perfect English asked me if my number was correct
And I said no. The caller ID was distributel.

i got call from this number 416 969 5000 telling me from Red cross canada , when i tray to call back number does not exist , i hope they will stop calling thanks

It is a collection Agency.  There just  tring to be sneaky and get you to answer the phone.

I believe it is a Collection agency `said they were from Health Canada`looking for someone I replied if you are the Government you would already know where they live!

As a former employee of EasyHome, I know for a fact that they use this outside company to track customers that have stopped making payments and still are in posession of merchandise. The information that "Distributel" has is provided through EasyHome, and any new contact/info is relayed back to EasyHome. If you are getting these calls, the quickest way for them to stop (if you are owing at an EasyHome or any other similar place) is to simply call the business and arrange a payment or return of the merchandise.

I personally don't agree with their tactics of lying and saying they are the post office. But I also know the burden on the business side of things when customers think they can just skip out and not pay for their leased items, essentially stealing them.

Unlike the other reports, I received a call from this number and it was from a proper business.  They were following up on an appointment.  They must use Distributel for there long distance calls.

they have been calling here for weeks-I don't answer numbers that I dont know!
Today picked up and hung up on them-tried to call backa s I am getting annoyed with this and there is just a repeated dial tone!
