Got called, played along with wrong cc-info.  At some point I had to rush and get the kids - they gave me a number to call
back: 1877 769 6964 - ask for Joyce. That number belongs to http://www.debteducationservices.com - enjoy.

Whenever I get one of these telemarketers I press one and hope that they ask for my phone number because they are too busy to answer. Yes sure they are too busy.  I leave my legislators phone number with a name similar to theirs.  These government servants let us down by not putting teeth in telemarketer laws so let them be bombed by unwanted calls.  Pass this on so that the government hammers these people out of business.

I believe you 100%.  I think Card Member Services sells telephone numbers to other corrupt companies.   I now receive calls from India, they are trying to get my personal information, checking account number etc etc.

Another way to handle these callers, if you want to harass them is to let them know you also have caller ID and know who they are, and where they live. That you will visit them and their family when they least expect it, and surprise! Anything can happen. Let your imagination be your guide!

Hi guys and gals,if you are getting these scammer calls, I have some bad news for you,you are now and forever on "the list",no,I'm not referring to the worthless "Do Not Call"list,(what a joke),I'm talking about the "Mooch List",aka as the "Sucker List"or "Victim List".If your phone has ever been called by a robo-dialer,(even once),and you answered "hello",(even once),your phone number was moved to the "mooch, sucker, victim"list. It is being sold, traded and otherwise shared by thousands of these scum-sucking scammers all over the country and perhaps the world. You can call, email.write angry letters, send texts and smoke signals to complain to the FTC,NSA,FCC,FBI,CIA,Attorney General, and even Hawaii 5-0 all you want, but these are lists you will never, ever be removed from.Welcome, you are now and forever in our little club. PS,I have been doing what Nick above recommends for the past 3 years,I can usually waste about 10-20 minutes of their valuable time per call, hey,I'm retired, everybody needs a hobby!

Has this worked?  Have they stopped calling you?  Has this technique resulted in them calling you less frequently?

I would love to do this but I just don't have the time.  I habitually do not answer calls from numbers that I do not know.  Legitimate callers leave a message.  And, though it has been about a year now, the number of calls I get from this franchised CC scam has dropped off significantly in recent months.  One call every one or two weeks now as opposed to many times a day.

May as well systematically jack with these basturds.  Maybe consider it your patriotic duty to keep them on the line as long as possible so as to run interference for your fellow Americans and keep them from getting scammed.

Rachel of Credit Card Services is the FTC's enemy number one; wow!  200,000 fricken complaints each month.  Imagine how much those cost to process.  They have scammed our fellow Americans out of $30 million dollars.  We can send a man to the moon, but we can't burn Rachel at the stake?!  Gimme a break!

So here's my drill for these CCS turkeys who call incessantly.  (Even refraining from answering calls from numbers I don't recognize FOR FOUR MONTHS, didn't make them stop.)  So now I follow these steps:

1.  Play along, acting like an interested prospect giving them fictitious data, including a combination of two different credit card numbers.

2.  I am oh-so patient, even dutiful, as I respectfully repeat myself and make a point of speaking slowly and clearly since these scammers aren't so sharp.

3.  Upon request, I give them my credit card company's real telephone number so that they can waste their time calling while I hold.  Inevitably they come back on the line and want to review the info I've given them.

4.  Sometimes I give them the same credit card info with two of the numbers transposed, thus causing them to call my credit card company yet a second time.

5.  Then I let 'em have it (and this is the FUN part).  When they say that my info didn't work, I respond, "Well maybe that's because H-O-O-O-O-O-N-N-N-K-K-K-K [from my air horn; and I've nearly exhausted three of those bad boys] you've been PRANKED!  So please call back tomorrow if you want more bullshot.  Eat shot and die, you predatory human garbage!"

It is SO FUN to switch to my crazy-azzed Mr. Hyde after so convincingly portraying Dr. Jekyll.  Incidentally, if you get really lucky you might even persuade them to give you a REAL number at which to call them back.  Then please post it here so that the rest of us harassees can call them ad naseum.

Prank Call
My phone is set up to repeat the name of the caller and when there is no name associated with the number in my contact list I never answer and look it up later. Especially if the area code is not one I normally call. Once I confirm it is bogus I add it to my Z list of bad numbers. I have over 100 unique numbers from them and counting.

Same here - the problem I ran into is there is so many numbers and I got tired of scrolling through them so I label those calls Z0 Card Services so they are at the bottom of my contacts. Then I add the next bogus number to the next open number slot until all 5 slots are filled then I start a new one called Z1 Card and so on. Right now I have 20 full and working on 21 - that is over 100 bogus numbers and a sign cell phone companies need to give us blocking abilities.

Card Member Services.  THEY WILL NEVER STOP CALLING, SO... ?GET EVEN?.

When they call press (1) to be connected to ?LIVE OPERATOR?  (this will waste their time).
They will try and get as much personal information from you as they can ? GIVE THEM FAKE INFORMATION.   I usually tell them I have 2 or 3 credit cards with a balance of 7k to 15k and interest rates from 15% to 21%, using this method will keep them on the phone longer and you can waste more of their time.   At some point they will ask the name of the credit card, toll free customer service number and credit card number with exp. date (many times they will ask for the last 4-digits of your social security number) REMEMBER, DO NOT GIVE ?REAL? PERSONAL INFORMATION OUT TO THEM AS THEY STORE AND SAVE ALL INFO.

When I get these calls, I add the number to my contacts as "Junk' and a number (Junk 23) and set the ring tone to 'no ring'.  Problem solved.

My wife just talked me into getting the iPhone 5c with the iOS 7 installed. Discovered a very cool thing about that phone, you can block callers just by pushing the little "i" in a circle icon, scrolling down the screen and selecting "block this caller." According to what I've read, this is a true blocking service. If they try and call again, they'll get a few rings and then a busy signal. According to what I read, if you try to call someone and get that sequence it's almost a sure bet you've been blocked by whoever you're trying to call.

Here's a link to the article I found this information at: http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2013/09/iphone-call-block-faq/

Could solve a lot of problems for a lot of us.

they love to call my Verizon Cell #.
I wish Verizon would use the data the NSA Collects to get these guys, Technology Exist to do that, the Phone companies refuse to help their clients.

Yet another of the "lower your interest rate" calls. One more number to add to call block. How can anyone fall for this?

Just do what I do. Answer your phone, press one to speak to an operator, and then just put your phone up to a radio speaker.

Just called me.  I'm sure it is Ann at Cardmember Services.  F*ckers!  Waste of their time to try to contact me anymore, I just plain don't answer any call I don't recognize.   If they were smart they would create a database of numbers that don't answer and not waste the effort/time/money to call those numbers anymore, but I guess they never give up.  B*stards!

Call not answered and no message left. I will not try and call the number back in case they are monitoring incoming calls.

Stop these phone scammers buy not answering calls from unknown numbers. IF it was important the caller will leave a message. In most cases all of the important people you deal with have your email address anyway.
