The smartest thing you can do is not answer any call that you don't recognize the number on the caller id and if you do don't EVER GIVE ANY PERSONAL OR CREDIT VARD INFO! Let them leave a message. If they don't leave a message it's not important.

I've received numerous calls from 417-800-2346 (2356, 2317, etc etc) and I'm sick of it. So, I did some research and made several calls to the FCC. I've learned that the # belongs to Robert Baker and these telemarketing companies are his clients. In communication with Robert Baker, he offered to take me off the do not call list. I thus recommend reaching out to him personally, he can be reached at 563-508-9710.
My new plan is to call him everytime I get a call from these scammers, which has been on a weekly basis for 5 months.

I just got a call from a 417 number on my work phone yesterday and it was saying i won a car or something. and after that i just hung up the phone. it was some deragitory phone message at my work saying i won some lotto which i do not play lottos because its a waste of time and money so luckily i hung up and reported it to my boss. I have had problems with this for a longtime now and i really wish they stop calling. I even looked it up online, they said the calls are coming from nigeria.

As reported in the Oct-Nov issue of the AARP Bulletin the people (creatures) employed as telemarketers by the "card services" scammers are mainly drug addicts trying to cheat people in order to pay for their disgusting habit. When speaking to the lowlife of society we can't expect to be treated with respect because those type of people don't know any better.
| John Morris 2013-03-04 23:28:10 Unknown |
Don't bother reporting scammers to your phone company. The scammers are bigger customers than you are. And that is apparently the bottom line.
The phone companies COULD stop these guys in a week, tops. But why dry up a major source of revenue?

"You can always press *67 to call back without revealing your identity to see who the caller was." -- NOT NECESSARILY GOOD ADVICE. If you call back a toll-free number, they get your REAL, UNMASKED PHONE NUMBER and you CANNOT mask it. I realize this isn't a toll free number, but still . . .

Theresa - I received the same scam call. I would go to the FCC online and file a complaint. My number is listed with the Do Not Call Registry but these scam artists call and try to rip us off anyway.

have had SO many calls from this number, actually pressed one and told the caller I wanted off the list. Was told she couldn't and didn't have anything to do with it. COMPLETELY DISRESPECTFUL AND SANG "SORRY" AND laughed at me.

Same -- I have been getting calls from these people for about 3 months. Sometimes they identify themselves as "Credit Card Services," or "Cardholder Services, " or "Account Management Assistance" but it is "Your Financial Ladder." When I ask to be removed from their list they hang up immediately. The Caller ID is faked about 2/3 of the time. This is one of the first times I have seen this phone # when they call and it finally appeared in your list.

If you get a call from this telemarketer, please file a complaint with the FCC and FTC: http://www.fcc.gov/complaints and https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx. If they receive enough complaints, they'll investigate. In addition, they send information on how to file a lawsuit. Recently, they shut down five of these scams.

If everyone who receives a call from this # would make a complaint on the National Do Not Call List regristry at https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx?panel=2 , the owner of this number would receive multiple large fines and this would stop.

i am so sick of these calls. When you ask them to remove your number, they hangup before you can finish. Is there anyway to stop them?

These calls are part of a large-scale robocall scam that's been going on for several years now, perpetrated by a company called Pacific Telecom Communications Group. Read all about it here:

No it doesn't. The registry is just a government waste of money and does nothing! I've filed complaints for several years and have NEVER seen anything done.

We get the "Card Services" calls sometimes 4-5 times a day. Have asked to stop calling. Doesn't work. Have yelled at them. Doesn't work. Have hung up. doesn't work. We now have call tracing, and the # that called today is 417-800-2319. Filing complaints with Do Not Call Registry is a joke, and has yielded no results at all. These scumbags need to get a real job! I can't believe this invasion of a person's time is allowed to continue.

I was so sick of getting these calls so I pressed 1 to get to a live person to ask them to take my name off the list. The person on the other end "Todd Hughes" asked me questions about my credit card debt. When I told him that I didn't want the services I just wanted my name off the list, he said he had no list. Then he proceeded to make sexually explicit remarks to me. I hung up then.

We have been getting calls from this number. I have asked them to put us on the No call list and they usually hang up on me before I can even get the words out. Frustrated immensely!!!

always fill a complaint. It is what gives them the records to go after these illegal callers. Yes, they are illegal. And every call you get, report. I am on the Do Not Call list. I log a complaint every time I get one of these calls. The fact of the matter is.. these callers are criminals. They dont follow the law.
"This is a very important message about your current credit card rate. This is your second and final..." Yeah, I wish.

They called my cell number today - it's a do-not-call registered number - and left a no-sound message. It cost me money to retrieve the empty message. If someone were to find these callers and blow up them up with a big bomb, and I were on the jury, I'd find the bomber "not guilty" and go shake his hand and thank him.
