This number called me at 6a. I did not answer the phone. They left me a message stating they were from quickcashday.com and that I was recently approved for a pay day loan that I had recently applied for. I have never nor will ever apply for a pay day loan. I looked up quickcashday.com, and they do have a site where you can apply for a pay day loan. I called them at the number they called me from. I get a recording stating that they are quick cash day pay day loans and asking me to press 1 for a customer rep or 2 to have my number taken off the list. Out of curiosity, I pressed 1 and recieved a recording stating no one was available to take my call.

Complaints to the feds regarding illegal calls are noted in the Consumer Sentinel database. They do not trigger any immediate response but are helpful in defining a nuisance call problem and for punishing violators. The FTC never promised you a bullet shield from every unwanted and illegal caller. You were given a means to revoke a sales caller's permission to ring your phone. The DNC registry aids voluntary compliance with the Telemarketing Sales Rule with fines available for violators. Just as one parallel, how often are you in strict compliance with a posted highway speed limit?
None of the above was a secret when you registered. You were supposed to read about what registration does for you when you submitted your numbers.
National Do Not Call Registry Q&A
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0108-national-do-not-call-registry
Now as to taking action, I note in this long thread that no one has described what the late night caller wants. Some business might be a spoof victim is all we're told. Different categories of caller need different approaches. Options may be limited by the nature of the calls and where they originate. Very likely the caller will have to be sued before s/he quits, and right now there is bupkiss to put into a civil complaint.

2:59 am these suckers called. Bar stewards. Checked my carrier, Comcast, and they have a service that has allowed me to block this number. http://forums.comcast.com/t5/Voice-Service-an ... /1477961#M13360
If you're not with Comcast, check out your local carriers web site - they'll probably have something similar.

If so many complaints have been made, why has the FCC not done something about this long before now, if ever?
TS 2013-07-16 18:09:51 Unknown
Thanks for the info. I got a call from them last night but during the time I have my phone on sleep mode so I didn't hear it ring. I hope they find resolution to this. Getting a call early in the AM sucks but someone emulating your business sucks more!

Dear people who think they know everything:
I have filled numerous complaints with the DO NOT CALL registry, the FCC, and the State AG's office in whatever state the company resides - NOT A DAMN THING WAS DONE. So, what now, geniuses?

Robo call @ 1:30 am - filed complaint. Woke us up for nothing..
Kitten Mew 2013-07-14 01:36:56 Unknown
I agree. Putting something on your site is probably the best thing to do. Many of the people who post here seem to believe that there are not scam artists out there who will do anything! All they do is complain about being on the DNC list, but most legitimate businesses abide by that list. The scammers change numbers so often that they know that the possibility of being caught is next to nothing, so they have nothing to lose!
Kitten Mew 2013-07-14 01:32:05 Unknown
I haven't signed up for anything free for ages, and my call came in close to 2:30 a.m. I think that it's an off-shore scam call center.
Kitten Mew 2013-07-14 01:28:43 Unknown
Received a call from "Vic Insurance" very early this morning - 2:27 a.m. Clearly not a legitimate business call! I remember reading on this site about some other middle-of-the-night calls which apparently were from scam call centers outside of the U.S., who were using spoofed numbers and made up business names. This sounds like the same thing.
Kitten Mew 2013-07-14 01:25:45 Unknown
NOTHING could make calling in the middle of the night "acceptable!" Unless it was a relative with an emergency, which these calls clearly were not.
Kitten Mew 2013-07-14 01:24:25 Unknown
Saying that it was "unacceptable" doesn't mean that the complainer didn't actually do something about it. Sometimes people just need to vent.
Kitten Mew 2013-07-14 01:23:12 Unknown
Because these are scam artists, not legitimate businesses.
Teresa 2013-07-13 17:51:54 Unknown
We received called from this number at 4:41 AM and file complaints with DO NOT CALL CENTER. Why don't you file a complaint?

Received a call from 417-800-2320 at 04:41 AM on 07/13/2013, Saturday morning. Not only they should have called us at that time, all telemarketer should not call us. Called ID is VIC INSURANCE. This has to be a telemarketer. Already file a complaint with "DO NOT CALL CENTER."

2:30 and 4:47. Tried to answer thinking someone in my family was in trouble. Message that was left was annoying.
Bob Fontana 2013-07-13 12:53:02 Prank Call
Same as above-One time called at 3:31 A.M.
I will file even though my optimism has waned over this craziness over time! Thank's to Vic Insurance for posting their data. Thanks to Ken for what appears to be encouragement to action.
