You CAN be sure it is a scam when the scummy card service scammers call you!  And you are correct---they're out to get our credit card numbers, so they can rip us off. A really disgusting group of creatures!

The screen on my phone said RX Assistance but the recording (female voice, American) went on about it being my final opportunity to get a better interest rate and something about taking advantage of a government program.  Most legit robocalls (if there is such a thing) give an option such as "press 2 if you don't want more calls" but this did not.  I'm not sure if it was a telemarketer or a scam to collect credit card numbers.

The caller ID says "RX Assistance" (it's a spoofed number) but, this company says they are calling from your credit card company to "lower your interest rate" they call EVERYDAY! I've asked to be taken off their list MANY times! So now I just play along.I give a fake name, fake info...and then we they are getting really excited, thinking that they have found another sucker I kindly ( or not so kindly) tell them to that they waste my time calling me daily, so I just wasted theirs! It drives them crazy, just like their calls drive me crazy. Ha!

The RX Assistance scammers and the "card service" scammers are one in the same. They're not offering credit cards, they're trying to fool people into giving them their credit card numbers so they can rip them off. Beware of these drug addicted lowlifes, and warn others before they are cheated!

You're right. There's nothing to be gained by answering a call from the card service scammers, who are drug addicts, trying to fool us into giving them our credit card numbers so they can rip us off! You certainly know who these lowlifes are, so let others know also, so they are not cheated.

Seeing we receive hardly any calls since I started my program of playing with the "card services" scammers last August, I rely on the 800Notes phone number comments-phone number look up, to keep in touch with the latest numbers they are using (as you know they change their spoofed numbers constantly) and make a post or two, alerting folks to the scam . If you haven't done so already, and have the time to do the same, your valuable information of how to deal with these lowlife scum could help many folks from being taken advantage of. Some people want to rely on the technology issue of locating them, and that is fine, but hitting them from two angles is better.

Your right. Its useless to request they remove your number from their call list.  As you may have picked up on, I was asking the idiot if he had an official company web site and to speak to his supervisor. That led to all the ranting and raving. I do enjoy trying to get them to start foaming at the mouth. Makes for more funny material. I have dozens of taped recordings of these clowns, from hundreds of phone calls. The calls fell off for a while, but are probably on the way back, since answering that lastest new robo-call. Also, If you do any FaceBooking, check out these blogs fighting back against the belly-crawlers.

I can see anyone would get upset if they had the experience you had with them. I never had them get irritated with me because, knowing it would never happen, I never requested to have my number removed from their list. After receiving numerous calls where I simply didn't answer I started "playing the game" and pretending to be receptive to their offers and playing the "gullible old man."I guess they had no reason to threaten me because I agreed to everything they said, but providing false information and acting sincere. You might have read what myself and others have posted regarding an article in the AARP bulletin, which stated the majority of the scamming telemarketers are felon drug addicts. This can explain the erratic behavior and language of these lowlifes all of us must deal with on almost a daily basis.Good videos--got a good laugh out of them. I hope that the ones trying to alert others of these scum helps somewhat,so they are not verbally abused or financially taken advantage of.

I do understand how upsetting the calls can be. The "straw that broke the camels back" for us was this psychotic east indian "rep" that threatens rape of our family, while other boiler-room jerk-**fs laugh in the back ground. This began the war on "card services" and other scum-ball telemarketers, but turned a "would be terrifying" robo-call into fun!  We put him on youtube as a robo-call to Gunnery Sgt. Hartman from Full Metal Jacket dubbed in. While doing that another idiot be-ach "live operator" robo-calls and gets included. It's a little rough, with adult language, but proves a point- these criminals have no morals, or conscience in what THEY do.

As the new scams turn up I get a chance to use my "script" occasionally. It's been a while,so I'll need to rehearse to get it just right. Thanks for the heads up--I've never gotten a call from this new group of scammers. I'm glad some of us can make the best of what happens when these lowlifes call! There are some folks that sound so upset that you think they're going to have a stroke, and they don't apparently read others' advice. The people I can see becoming truly upset are those that have cheated by these scummy scammers.

Actually the "V" indicates the call was placed using a V dialer (a type of robodialer) and judging by when you posted your comment you must be in the Eastern time zone as the first four digits indicate the date, the next four the time, (in military style) the next two,the seconds and the last four the sequence of the call, indicating you were the 93rd person this scammer tried to cheat during this session of scamming. The do not call list means nothing to the RX Assistance--card services scammers as they are simply drug- addicted criminals who do not obey laws.

v05041241320093/417-800-2330. Someone once told me the number after v indicates an out of country call? Not sure how accurate that is.  If I don't know the number, I don't answer. I am however on the do not call list so if the so called Rx Assistance company (as it is called in other reports here) ever looks at this log, DO NOT CALL ME!

My friend just got a call, same number they said they could lower her her interest on her credit card to 0% and said they wanted her credit card number, she gave one credit number and he put her on hold and then came back on the line and told her that card was over the limit and he wanted another card number... I googled the number while she was on the phone with him... When I read the things I found he got angry... We are on the phone with the bank cancelling the card now!

Other New Information;
This new robo-call may or may not have anything with the number (417-800-2330) reported on this thread.

Here is a new shill robo-call from public enemy No. 1- ?card services?.
Notice how many times ?free?, and ?completely out of debt? are used!

?Hi. This is a pubic service announcement  [Public nuisance announcement] letting you know that you can be completely debt free for free. [Yeah, right] Were giving individuals free information on how we can go in and completely wipe out your debt. [wipe out your bank account] The laws have changed allowing us to go in and eliminate your debt completely. [What Laws allow these criminals to illegally robo-abuse American Consumers?] So press ?1? now to speak to a representative [Drug addicted loser boiler-room shill] to get free information, or press ?2? to get off our calling list. [Will get your number on more illegal telemarketing criminals lists!] Thank You.?

That sounds like you had plenty of fun with them too!  When I used the on the phone option only, I, could keep from laughing for the duration of the 20-30 minute conversation, but my wife and others laughed so loud I had to mute the phone, so the "card services" scammers wouldn't know they were 'being had", so I could keep them on to the ultimate. Playing the "old man" (which isn't far from the truth) worked for me, and got them off my back! Spread the word of these lowlifes, so others won't be taken advantage of.

Thanks, The more enraged you can make them the more enjoyable. Some time ago, I invited one of the clowns to join in the on the FTC facebook conversation. They cursed profusely and hung up. They never had the guts to post anything there. Im sure they were watching as I reported the illegal call and humiliated them in front eveyone reading that day.

Yes, and record the conversation for youtube. The drug addicted loser boiler-room scum really hate that. And it has indirectly lead to some of them getting busted, since one of the belly-crawling "reps" started talking trash to Consumers on a few youtube posts.

If more people used the method of wasting the "card services" scammer's time, that you and I have suggested, the scammer's calls to their phones would slow down and then stop, and the scammers would have less time to cheat others.

Yes, this is a credit card scam - and yes, they refuse to give you any information about their company, as required under the Do Not Call Act.  When asked for that information, they always hang up - at least everytime I did, they hung up on me.

Now, what I do, if I'm in the mood, is that I play with them.  I waste their time, and like one member said above, if you do it enough, you might be taken off their calling list (especially since asking them doesn't work, nor pressing the number they tell you to (to be taken off their calling list), doesn't work either.

I waste their time with either one of three scripts -

1. They begin their Credit Card scam by asking you what is your current interest rate.  I tell them I'm not sure, I have to ask my wife, and I tell them to hold on.  I put the phone down and yell "Gladys, Gladys, where are you?"  Then I make a muffled response.  "Where?  Oh, the basement.  I have a question for you."  I get back on the phone"  "You still there?  I'll be a minute, my wife is downstairs, she knows our interest rate, okay?"  I put the phone down.  Then go back to what I was doing before they called.  Sooner or later they'll finally hang up and I'll hear the BEEP, BEEP from my phone telling me that they did so.

2. They begin their CC scam by asking you what is your current interest rate.  I tell them a high one, like 25%.  Then I make out that I'm seriously into debt, owe about $90,000 on my credit cards.  Sometimes this gets their juices flowing.  You see I think they get a percentage of what debt they can transfer onto their card.  Sooner, rather than later, they will ask you for your Credit Card number.  Why, I'm not sure, but they always do.  So I use one of my old Visa Gift Cards that don't have any balance on it.  Of course when they key it in, they won't get the data they expect.  They'll either ask you for a different card's number or your Social.  If they ask for your Social - tell them you never give it out!  Instead, tell them because of all your credit card debt, you cut all your cards up, put them through my paper shredder, but you can look for a Bill to get the number.

Now here is where I try to get their Company's name and number - how?  By doing this - at this point, they really want a valid credit card number, that's when I tell them I have paperless, and I have to go online to get a number for them.  They ask me to do so, but I tell them that I have a Dial-up connection - so I'll need to get their name and phone number to call them back, (once I get the credit card number).  This has worked when I've used it. If it doesn't, you have wasted a heck of a lot of their time, and perhaps they'll flag you account to not receive any more calls.

3.   I make myself out to be an old man, an old man who cannot hear to well.  For every sentence they say, I get them to repeat by saying:
"Eh?"
"I can't hear you"
"What did you say?"
"I don't understand"
"could you repeat that please?"
"Huh?"
"What?"

Or you can slur their words right back at them, that is sure to get them flustered!

For "Credit Card":   "Cruddy Car?  I don't have a cruddy car, I don't drive anymore."
For "Your Rate":     "I know I'm right, you said it too, you said "your right" to me, didn't you?"

I'm sure there are others that would like to beat and torture the card service scammers if they could get their hand on them. Even without doing that we can get satisfaction knowing the miserable life they live as lowly drug addicted felon telemarketers sitting in their rows of phonebanks, sweating profusely and shaking uncontrollably as they make their next attempt to rip someone off in order to support their disgusting habits.

Robo calls are required by law to have an opt out option. The only choice given was to press 1 to talk to someone. The "representative" did not identify herself or her "employer". I informed her that what she was doing is illegal.  She said, "No it isn't." and hung up on me.  So obviously a scam.  I will use an air horn on the next such caller.

Got a fraudulent call today (Fri., May 3, 2013, 9:52 a.m. PST) from this number (Caller ID: "RX ASSISTANCE"). It was a recording stating that it's my "last chance" to solve some credit-card issue. Pure bull defecation that I didn't listen to for more than two seconds. If I could visit the person who makes these sorts of spam-like calls, I'd want to pound them in the face as hard as I could. I hope these a-holes eventually all get arrested and hung by their private parts to rot in jail for the rest of their pathetic lives. And if you're one of the frauds who makes this sort of call, you better not get caught because you have an awful lot of angry people who'd love nothing more than to kick your sorry a**.
