I got in Kansas saying I owed a bill in Michigan. I called who they said I owed not so. They don't even collect through them. Glad I didn't send them my visa# or a check! It's a scam'!!!!!!!!! I've never been to Springfield MO

So why aren't they leaving a message?  I get many calls a day from numbers I don't know (right now its political ads and I have no intention of answering those) and if its important, they will leave a message.  Mercy is the most amateurish hospital I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with and this is just one more example.  Does this mean they will not tell you if you need to call for something important?  I wasn't told by anyone at the hospital to look for this number so of course I ignored it.  I hate this hospital.

I think it's just the preadmission office at st. Johns.

Every call originating from St. John's will display this number regardless of who makes the call. It could be from anyone inside of St. John's PBX.

Mine was the actual doctor's office at St. Johns trying to inform me on something regarding a prescription refill.  If you don't owe them money and aren't trying to avoid a collection call, I'd probably answer.  It might be important.

Not necessarily a collection call.  Calls from patient rooms and doctors offices in the hospital dial out using the same phone number, as do St. John's Behavioral Health and St. John's Mercy Villa (nursing home).  I just received two calls that turned out to be my cousin trying to reach my mother through me because my uncle is in the hospital.  The same phone number shows on caller ID.

More than likely someone was trying to reach you about something other than a bill collection.

This call was first received at 6:30am MST. Calls continued every 3 - 5 minutes.
