Someone stole my SS last year & opened a CC account to buy a new computer. So I received a call from this collection agency as well (Miss Owens).  She is a very nice and helpful lady. The call was regarding a charge for a sex/chat line membership that went unpaid. As it turns out, someone is at it again & opened a membership using my name & SS but with two phone numbers in Michigan & Illinois. Miss Owens even let me listen to the voice recording of the membership call, at the off chance this would be someone I know. I'd suggest you check your accounts if you receive a call from them.

this lady attempted to collect a debt. I checked my phone records and no such call was made. I contacted police and calls are being made from outside the country. Nothing can be done at time because they haven't broken any laws. DO NOT GIVE ANY PRTSONAL INFO!!!!!!! They are attempting to steal identy's. I called back unfortuanatly! this gives them chance to forward your call to a number that will charge you. DO NOT CALL BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!

That address is for "The Mail Vault", so she or they rented a box. So they are calling from another address. I wonder why?

She says my check card did not go through on some adult chat line.

First off, I'm much more visually inspired. Have not called called an adult chat line in over 25 years, and when I did, it was actully my friend who did it. We were like 13 and never got to talk to the lady in the picture. We were at his parents.

I new this would come back to haunt me!!!!

A Mrs. Owens keep calling saying that I owe money for some Internet charges. I'm not sure how she got my name but I have never used the internet to purchase anything or use my cc for internet purchases. She says that she will be taking me to court and then she hung up on me. I'm  think this is fraud because when I ask for more detail about these internet charges she changes the subject and keeps demanding a payment.

Is this a scam calls??cuz i just have call from miss owen...she was telling me that i owed some company couple hundreds dollars.. Please somebody help me..

Ms. Owens called saying I owed over $300 in sex calls that were supposibly made on a Visa.  I don't even have a Visa.  When I told her I refused to pay as these were not my charges she said she would have to take this further and hung up on me.  This is nothing but a scam!!!

what happened with this situation?were the police actually contacted?and how is a collection agency doing investigations?

Ahhh... I saw 2 charges from LALIBCO.COM,  a web hosting company in Portugal, on my card statement.  I thought it HAD to be fake, so I called my bank and after a few weeks, the bank refunded my money.  Today my parents got a call from Ms Owens from this phone number (how "she" got their number, I don't know)  She said for me to call regarding acct #--------.  After looking more, I see now that the LALIBCO.COM hosts JasmineLIve - a sex webcam site - and I really DID pay 2 times for it - but I completely forgot their billing details.  
So, actually, in my case it IS a legitimate call to collect a legitimate debt.

I found them on my credit report and called and spoke with someone there. They said my $199 debt was for an "adult entertainment site" and informed me they had investigated me and had my myspace page. Are you serious? Since when does a debt company look up myspace pages for people who owe money. This is insane. I have not signed up for any adult entertainment site and will not be paying them anything. This is a huge scam!

Ms. Owens called and threaten criminal charges for cc fraud due to the reversal of a charge made by Lalibco (Portugal) which turns out is a billing agent for multiple adult web sites. She is very threatening and said I had two choices pay or call the police, so I filed a police report.

My finace has been receiving calls from Ms. Oens for a month now. She says he owes $71.63 for a call he made. We argued for a while over this. Now after reading this I feel that MAYBE he was telling the truth but still unsure of why she would choose random people and say they were calling sex lines when they hadnt.

Yeah Mrs Owens has been calling me saying that i am a repeat offender and that i am going to go to jail if i don't pay the 168.00 they said i used live links and i have never used live links in my entire life  and not she said she is going to turn this over to Shasta lake police department and have me arrested well i called the cop's myself and the only way they can get me incarcerated is if i wrote a 400.00 dollar or over check and i have never wrote a four hundred dollar check and she is saying that i am going to go to jail well i have a fiance and i don't cheat and she is saying that i was on this dating chatline and i was never on there and there is people that can get identity theft happen to them and yes i am a victim of identity theft and i explained that and then she said that she has my voice recorded and i asked to hear it and she would not let me hear it then my fiance got on the phone and she said she would have to request for my voice file from live links my fiance said that if she was a real collection agency then she should have all my file right there with her the police department told me now to worry about it they said that this sounded like a scam collection agency CRV COLLECTIONS HMMMM

THIS NUMBER KEEPS CALLING MY CELL PHONE, MS. OWEN STATED THE FIRST MESSAGE THAT I NEEDED TO CALL HER BACK  IN ORDER TO AVOID OTHER CHARGES. I DIDNT. THEN THE SECOND MESSAGE STATED THAT SHE HAD LEFT SEVERAL MESSAGES AND DIDNT HAVE ANY OTHER OPTION THAT TO TAKE FURTHER ACTION AND TURN ME INTO A COLLECTION AGENCY!?!?! THIS IS A STUPID PLOY FOR MONEY AND I WILL NOT BE CALLING HER BACK!

They are calling wanting money for their sex lines.  They use an 800 and
900 numbers to lure people in. Luring people in and befor they know it they have added up hundreds of dollars in phone bills. Our son is considered mildly mental retarded and before we knew it they pulled him in.  Now they are trying to us threats of him going to jail to get their money.  We need to shut this and all companies like them down.
