caller ID TNS  hung up when machine picked up

This call was a company checking on Verizon Wireless customer service. They asked about 5 questions wanting me to grade on a scale of 1-10 the quality of service I received during a recent problem. I had some charges removed from my bill, but I had to REALLY complain to get it done.

(The problem was the damned Premium Txt Messaging charges. I suggest turning this off immediately when you get a new phone.)

Well, probably is from Verizon as I just modified my service with them.

Called about 8:30 pm about Customer Service for Verizon. Said I called and changed my plan on 9/23 which I did not do.  I haven't called Customer Service for over a year.  I asked to be removed from their list and was told that it could not be done because I was a Verizon customer. This is getting out of hand.

Received call at 6:15 PM on 11-9-09.  Left no message, when I tried to return call verizon said that the number was changed or disconnected??????

I'd be careful about providing ANY information to this number. A number of people have said they claim to be Verizon - but they called me and I'm not even a Verizon customer! Sounds like a scam waiting to happen.

Its not a scam its a market reaseach company calling onn BEHALF of businesses!!!!!

I just received a call from TNS on my office phone which is on the "do not call list."  No message was left.  What does it take to be left alone?  If I want to talk to you, I'll call you.

Me too, last night, and probably 6-8 times in the last month or two. same number. At least the no call registry has stopped the majority of my unwanted calls since I got on it. I wish there was a way to slap these kinds of people, even tho it's a slight annoyance for most of us, combined that's a lot of trouble coming from them. I think they  need a hard kick in the pants that I would love to give them.

Exact same thing has been happening to me -- first the PA number, now the Ohio one.

I made the mistake of picking up when the PA number called me a couple weeks ago. They said, "Hi, this is [dude's name I don't remember]. Is this Christopher?" I mistakenly said, "This is Chris." Then they hung up.

Since then, I get calls from either that number or, now, Ohio that I just don't bother with. They never leave a message, as seems to be a running theme.

By the way -- I love that this site exists to discuss such thing...

called my cell phone yesterday and today. i didn't recognize area code so i didn't pick up.  they did not leave a message.

These people called our hse @ 6:15 pm. They ask if we had contacted Progress Energy.  They were calling on their behalf.   We of course had not.

Some one at this number 419-725-9037 said they had a credit for me from!!
Sure, and pigs fly too!!!

Received a call last night just before five.  Woman claiming to be representing Verizon Wireless customer service, asking for a person I didn't know.  When I said she had the wrong number she asked if I had placed a call recently about a problem with my Verizon account.  I said no, I'm sorry, you have the wrong number, and hung up.  First of all, I don't have a Verizon account.  Second, Verizon would know they're not calling a Verizon number.  The scary thing is, I didn't even think of it as a possible scam until afterwards!  I'm lucky I don't have a Verizon account, otherwise, who knows what info they could have got from me.  We need to spread the word about these people.

Interesting post. Same behaviour here. Got calls first by (215) 442-7490 and then a couple of days later by (419) 725-9037. Did not answered, no messages left either.

How do we stop these guys?  We are on both the State and Ferderal DO NOT CAll list!  This is so annoying, we drop what we are doing to answer the phone and it either stops on ring #3 or there is no answer when we pick up.  This is harassment!

Just received a call from this number. Caller ID shows TNS. They didn't leave a message when the machine picked up. We, too, are on the DO NOT CALL list but, as so many others, are finding that means nothing.

PLEASE STOP THESE FREAKS!

Got a call from them tonight didnt answer.. number says disconnected when i trie to call back

I am receiving calls from (419) 725-9037 and (215) 442-7094 at all hours. I am calling the FBI to investigate them immediately. I feel like I am being stalked. If you receive a call from TNS do not answer. I am going to sue them in Federal Court with the help of my father who is a federal judge.

called every evening at dinner time this week.  asked them to stop calling.  sounds like a scam to me!

the DO NOT CALL list is a farce, it means nothing. the politicians will not enforce it because it will cost them tax revenue and jobs. don't waste your time complaning. if you don't know the phone number do not answere. if you can, block it. if you can't theres nothing you can do. the F.T.C. "federal trade commician". deamed it is ok to call anyone at anytine if they are a active customer of the business in question OR ANY of its entities. and since most business's are part of a muti-corp. set up you ARE a active customer.

TNS called 419-725-9037, immediately disconnected the call when the answering machine picked up.  Go away people...........  Don't call me unless I call you!

Received a call from this number Sunday 9/27 10:50 a.m. they didn't leave a message.  Looked up and found it's an unpublished number from Ohio.  Better not bother us anymore.  We're on the National do not call list.  I will report them if they don't stop.  We have an unpublished number also.  I am keeping a log of calls to report them if they persist to call.

I tried calling back with my number blocked and the recording said the number was not in service.  This sounds like a scam to me.

Same thing. Received a phone call. No message left.
