hung up on recorder

They called my house today @ 9:18am, left no message. Caller ID shows:BLOUNTVILLE   TN. They are not BLOCKED!!!

Another new number in the long list of new numbers calling everyday. Of course no message. And DNC list will never work for scammers and thieves. Why is it some of us are constantly annoyed by these calls and others are never bothered? Never sign up for anything.

Called today and caller ID said Starnet. I did not answer and they did not leave a message. Been getting a lot of hooky calls lately and if the DNC list does not protect folks from pushy telemarketers and relentless annoying slugs then they need to be more clear about that. DNC advertises as "Stop annoying calls by going on the DNC".I will keep my airhorn handy and answer the bas**rds next time. "WE do not accept sales or solicitations at this number; please remove it from your list BLAM, click!!!

Got a call from 423-354-5055. A girl said it was a survey and asked questions like if i were looking for a business would I use a phone book or internet.  If I were more likely to buy a desktop or laptop pc. I don't think it was personal phishing, Go figure.

Read Tamianth's previous post.  Then go to the FTC/DNC  site and do some reading about what is covered and what is exempt under the DNC Registry.  Lots of good information for those who think that the DNC is a cure all and responsible for all of their unwanted calls.  Doesn't have a thing to do with responsibilities for 90 percent of the complaints made on this board.

THE DO NOT CALL LIST - DOES NOT WORK - WHY DO I EVEN SPEND THE TIME TO PUT OUR HOME NUMBER AND CELL NUMBERS ON A LIST - I KEEP NOTIFYING THE FCC ON THESE CALLS - THEY KEEP CALLING ANY WAY!!!!

Sounded like kids faking an accent saying my wife was beautiful and I was stupid for marrying her???  Ok, that proves it was kids...I'd have been stupid not too LOL.  I'm guessing they're using some spoofing agent but what is this, 1980?  Get a real handle on prank calls!

Numerous calls from them. I don't answer, they do not leave a message. Called number back , got a recording Wal-Mart or Target gift card redemptions. If you would like to redeem your gift card press 1. Well pressing 1 does nothing but put you on a super long hold pattern then disconnects. PLEASE STOP CALLING MY NUMBER! Also this is a spam caller.

I believe we have received a call more than once from this number 423-354-5055 over the past few months.  When you answer they just hang on the line, no sound in the back ground and say nothing after saying hello more than once.  

Called this number back, it's some kind of phishing scam.  "Hello, thank you for calling the $100 Walmart gift voucher hotline.  We have a $100 Walmart OR Target gift voucher for you now."  Goes on to say you can spend your $100 voucher at Walmart or Target or any of hundreds of major retailers.

I got a call from 4233545055. I didn't talk with them. I called the number back, and got what appeared to be a home phone, the guy then quickly hung up. I called back and got a non-specific company name selling Wal-Mart stuff.
I informed them that I am on the DoNotCall list.

Annoying!

The DNC does not protect you from illegal telemarketers, scammers,frauds and other law breakers. Charity's,political and some survey's are exempt.  The DNC only protects from the honest business's.  The DNC does do its job and works just fine! It does what it was meant to do. People tend to really misunderstand how it works and generally do not understand that the DNC does not protect you from the scams,frauds,extortionists and the unscrupulous nasty's that refuse to obey laws.

Also on DO NOT CALL LIST, but apparently that don't mean anything.  They have called 3 times today.  One time I made mistake of answering.   Did not give them time to say what they want.  Told them not interested and hung up.

Got three calls already today! These people are relentlus. Beware , they are rated 100% Scammers.

Why do they call and leave no message? Whatever they are selling I don't want it. What's happening with the Do Not Call List?
