They are still at it.   I received a similar call as described above from a person with a Indian accent today telling me he was from Microsoft Technical Support and that I had something wrong with my computer.    After drilling him for a bit he gave me his call back number of 424-256-3700.   He was coming up on caller ID as SAXTON LANK AGN.  I will not be calling him back since this is definitely a scam that needs to be shut down by the feds.

This gentleman with a foreign accent contacted me and said that my computer is at risk for a virus. He passed the phone around because I didn't believe him. Several foreign people tried to convince me that it was a legit call. I didn't believe them!!!!! This is a scam!!!!! They are claiming to be "Windows" and the number that they gave me was 424-256-3700. They told me that I had to enter the letters CMD which I didn't!!!! The guy said his name was John Parker!!! lol! ...yeah right!!!!!

I have been getting these calls all week, usually i just hang up, but this time I asked the person "Daniel Brown" what his number was, and he gave this number.   He wanted me to sit down at my computer and press the Windows button.  I pretended I didn't have a Windows button, and he got quite rude about it.  What the heck????  They are calling my landline, which I can't block.....

How's this for weird.

My wife got a call a 3 weeks ago on her cell phone, which is on the Do not call list, they gave her the whole story about her computer send out viruses. She went along with them, although she was suspicious, until they asked her to log on to a website. She then told them that they would need to speak to me just to blow them off and hung up.

Last week I got a call in work from the very same people about the very same thing. I told them that Microsoft would not be calling people directly about viruses on their computers (Don't we wish they where that customer oriented!). the lady told me that they where not from Microsoft but they where from Windows technical support. I then told them that Microsoft and Windows is the same company. (DUH, who don't know that!). After telling them that I thought it was strange that I had got a call the week at home about the very same thing the person on the phone said OOOOH! and hung up. (Busted!!!)

I just got another call from someone. I asked them what my IP address is and they said they don't have access to that private  information. I then questioned them about calling my work number (they called on an outgoing line only) and she said the numbers come up randomly on their computers.

I eventually told her not to call us again.

All this to say - IT'S A SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At least the 3rd phone call from these people, they are persistant! A woman with a thick middle eastern accent, "Annie Roger" was trying to tell me something was wrong with my microsoft computer. When I tried to get out of her where in the world did she get that onfo and my phone number, she tried to tell me that she was calling for Microsoft. It was very hard to understand her, with her heavy accent and all the shouting and loud voices behind her. She did give me the phone number 424-256-3700; which I am promptly reporting.

Also to note that she gave me an email address of technologsolutions @gmail.com.
What kind of legit Microsoft company would have a gmail account? They would love to get ahold of my email address! Don't fall for these crooks!

I have received multiple calls from 212-654-2312 every day for about 3 or 4 weeks.  It comes up as Viacom on my caller ID.  Any time I have answered it is a person with an Indian accent and a poor connection.  I have called them liars and theives and they still keep calling, every day.  Like every other complaint they claim to be with Windows.  212-654-2312 is a non-working number so today I decided to answer and ask for a number to call back, so that I may have a valid number to report.  They gave me 424-256-3700, and thats when I found this complaint page.  I wish I could shot them in the face through my phone.

I rec'vd numerous calls from out of area number 90-072-4469 - talked to a very suspicious sounding and heavy accented man who wanted to discuss my computer. He claims that my computer is sending out viruses to the Microsoft main server. Ummm. Sure. I asked him to verify his information, he put his "Supervisor" on the phone, who at least stopped yelling and interrupting me... when we got to the point where he wanted access to my computer, I asked him for a return phone number. He provided 424 256 3700, I called back and he answered. Meanwhile I Googled this information, as well as jumping right onto Microsoft's website, verifying this is a scam. These people have called my house SEVERAL times today... how can we make them stop?  Sheesh!

I have been getting these calls about my computer letting out personal information.  I don't have a computer, I only use the library computer for Facebook.  I have asked this person if he is calling from India, he laughed and told me no, he is calling from U.S.A. California, from U.S.A. Window Technical Department, he had an accent, similar to the ones from India.  He gave me his name as Brian Smith, which I knew it was fake.  He wanted my Email number, I wanted his telephone number.  I told him that when I will go to the library the next day, I will call him when I will get on the computer.  The phone number that he gave me to call him was 424-256-3700.  When I asked him what kind of information he was getting from "my computer", he told me personal and banking.  When he said banking I knew that it was a complete hoax, because I do not do banking on the computer, I don't know much about computers, only for me to go on Facebook, and I am still learning.  I know that he will call again, I would like him to stop calling, because he is a liar.

My brother in rural Australia hung up on calls from 424 256 3700 many times over a period of about 12 months but in mid August 2013 he finally gave them a hearing. It was a male with an Indian accent who then passed the call over to his female accomplice.

My brother is a complete novice computer user but they convinced him to switch on his computer and follow instructions, supposedly to "fix the Windows problems" and make it "work faster".

He gave out his credit card details and later saw a debit of $144 on his card. They continued to call, but he would hang up each time. However a week ago he took another call where they offered him a refund. They talked him into giving them control over his computer. The next day a large amount of money was transferred from his bank accounts. Notification of a Western Union money transfer account and a auto-recharge Skype account suddenly appeared in his emails, along with emails from his Bank confirming changes to his accounts.

I've received call from these folks at least 5 times in the last month...More of the same - Windows technical support, thick Indian accent, could not understand him, he got his supervisor on the phone and wanted to fix my computer.  I told him the computer was not on and he said to turn it on and he'll call back.  When I asked for his telephone number he said it was 4242 536 700, an odd way for someone in the US to break up their phone number.  Is there anything that can be done to stop these scammers

Same pitch from Windows and my computer giving off signals this past week, etc. When  I asked when I should call back Jim William said 8 to 5; Said are you in the East Coast, He said California. I said thee is a 3 hour difference maybe should be from 11 .  OK ::::   Story the same as all of the above notices with some of the same scenario. My suspicions were that the was going to ask me questions about my computer that would enable him to HACK my computer and, I didn't want to go there.

Confirming the info of all the others. My 'scammer' was Richard Brown-same ph # as above but he finally told me after asking 4 times "where are you calling from" that he was in Washington. I asked Washington, DC? Yes. He was in Windows Tech Dept. India accent-told him I had trouble understanding him so he put his supervisor on-who I believe was him again pretending to be another person. There was lots of noise in the background-like a lot more people on the phone. Told him I'd call him back (NOT) when I'd talked this 'problem' over with a friend. He said he'd call my friend!  I'll warn my friends of this scam.

I  asked  the person that wanted to show me all the problems that I was having with my computer for his name and telephone number.  He said they did not give out the number.  After following his instructions for a period of time I was transferred to a senior technician. again asking for his name (Lou Thomas) and his telephone number (442.256.3700).  I then asked what it would cost me to fix the problems.  He said it would determined by the type and number of problems.  I asked to be removed from this calling list, and if I continued to receive these call daily or even more frequently that I would and report him. He asked me who I was going to report him to-the FBI, the local police etc.  I asked to be removed from this calling list and he said he would call me 5 times a day very day. I hung up and he immediately call back again asking to whom was i going to report him.  I hung up. He again called back and my wife answered the phone after a long pause  with no one answering someone or something hung up the phone.

My wife then called the number above and asked that the nuisance call be stopped and the person who answered said that we would be taken off the list.

This guy called my 85 year old father saying that his computer was giving error messages to Microsoft and he was calling to fix it.  I have coached my father to release zero information to anyone he was not familiar with regarding his computer.  He said he was nick and gave the number 424.256.3700.  I called it back and they said they could prove that the computer had issues.  He had a very strong Indian Accent.  Nick walked me through a process and had me go to the Windows event viewer.  Nick asked how many "events" occurred and I said 45 thousand (knowing that this is a normal amount of events items in the event log).  Nick indicated that this was extremely bad and that my computer could crash at any moment.  He said "do not click on an event or my machine would never run again".  He then instructed me to go to a website.  I asked what the website would do and he replied that it would give him control over my machine and he would fix the problem.  At that point I told him that I would just "fix" it myself.  He became very aggressive telling me that my machine was ready to crash and that I need his help.  Unbelievable scam.  I am going to dig up an old computer and let him take control just to see where he goes or what he does.  The fact that he used my event viewer log to "scare" me into using his services is hilarious.  Unfortunately, he may find some victims who are not computer savvy.

My call this morning was from - this tops 'em all - "Tom Cruise."

Same scam. When I questioned him (I could barely understand him) to verify he was calling from Microsoft, he said, "No! Windows Technical Support!" He has tried calling back again, but I am not answering the phone (comes up as "out of area").

I got his number (not that I was going to call him back, but was going to report him); it was 424-256-3700.

If only Tom Cruise knew his number was being given out...

My grandmother answered the phone from this number...a thick Indian accent...they told her that she had multiple viruses on her computer and that for 159 dollars they could go on her computer and fix it. She stupidly gave them her credit card number and full access to the computer. I got there to pick up my kids and she had told me what she did. I immediately called to cancel her credit card...and changed passwords from a different location to both our bank accounts, and called the police. Please watch out!
