I also got the call, but I didn't mind the call, Why, because I bought a Digitone Call Blocker.  www.digitone.com The first time they call, it rings my phone and the call comes through. I then block the number and the next time they call, my phone doesn't even ring and the blocker hangs up on them. You can even block entire area codes. I have it setup to block any incoming calls with the 855 area code. The blocker keeps track of all calls, good and bad ones. Then I like to check to see who got hung up on just for fun like I am now.

You need to buy one of these, you?ll like it. No monthly fees either

Criminals can't sue you for threatening them. These crooks call people names, harass them on a constant basis, and even threaten them so giving them their own medicine is one way to deal with them. The wimps are tough behind their computers but are scared to give their own phone numbers for a reverse robocall. Cowards.

It's the "Rachel from Card Services" scammers.

I find that when I call them horrid names (and I mean the worst, foulest, most bigoted and insulting names imaginable) they don't call back for weeks.
\
Threatening them works as well, and there isn't squat they can do because they would have to admit they are working for scammers to file a police complaint! As the DOJ would love to get their hands on some of the lower-level minions, I am hopeful one will complain.

No luck yet, but I'll keep trying. Just this morning the call came form them and I said, "Hey, it's you again!" The guy hung right up.

This company has been calling for over a year offering lower interest rates and stating it is their last call for the evonomic stimulis. They keep changing their phone number so you can't block them.  The calls may seem to originate from all over the country.  I have reported them to FCC numerous times

Received call yesterday from this number at dinnertime.  Did not answer phone and no message left in voicemail.  The call came from Los Angeles area.  Do not know who they are but assume it's just another scammer looking for another victim.  I hate these people.

I received a call today from (424) 273-2012 but did not answer.   No message.  Typically, if I receive a call from an unrecognized number, I don?t answer, but Google it.  If there is a history of abuse, this is what I do.

I file a complaint with the FCC against this caller at http://www.fcc.gov/complaints.  I get an acknowledgement after I submit the complaint, and, after a while, the FCC will send me a formal email acknowledging my complaint, assign a complaint number, and advise that it is investigating the complaint.

At a minimum, a complaint should be filed with the FCC at http://www.fcc.gov/complaints.  The form only takes a few minutes to fill out and you can file a complaint against three different numbers.  I think this is the most effective way to deal with this problem.  If you file a complaint with the FCC, be sure to submit the link to this thread in the complaint form.  That way, the FCC will be aware that the caller has done this repeatedly.

This is a copy of an email I received from the FCC acknowledging each of my prior complaints.  It might take a few weeks to receive the acknowledgment, but you should get one:

?Dear Consumer:
Re: Case # 12- XXXXXXXX
Thank you for contacting the FCC regarding possible violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (?TCPA?) and the Commission?s telemarketing and junk fax rules.  Information provided in consumer complaints like yours helps the Commission to combat abusive or unlawful practices in these areas, including taking enforcement actions against individuals or companies.  In this regard, the Communications Act authorizes the Commission to issue citations and, in some cases, impose substantial fines upon entities that violate telemarketing and junk fax rules.
Although the Commission does not resolve individual complaints, each complaint is individually analyzed and assists us in enforcement actions to protect consumers like yourself.  You should be aware that the TCPA also provides for enforcement of the telemarketing and junk fax rules by state attorneys general and by individual consumers.  With respect to the latter, the TCPA permits individuals who have received certain unlawful telemarketing, such as junk faxes or telemarketing calls, to sue the violator in state courts where they may be awarded up to $1500 for each violation.
We invite you to visit the FCC?s Consumer & Governmental Affairs Bureau?s Internet web site at http://www.fcc.gov/cgb for more information.  You may also call the FCC?s Consumer Center toll free at 1-888-CALL-FCC [1-888-225-5322], TTY: 1-888-TELL-FCC [1-888-835-5322].
Sincerely,
Sharon C. Bowers, Division Chief
Consumer Inquiries & Complaints Division
Consumer & Governmental Affairs Bureau?

Please invest the small amount of time necessary to file the complaint, particularly if you are irritated by these obtrusive and incessant calls.  Good luck!

I am also on the DO NoT Call List. That doesnt seem to have an effect on these callers. If I dont recognize the number or area code, I just reject the call. The problem arises when they call at midnight or 6:00am in the morning. I report all of these numbers to the DNC number.

This call number started with a "V," so I didn't bother to answer it, and I doubt the number means anything, but here it is: V12121254350062, and then it had the following number: 424-273-2012. It appears to be a company offering low refinancing rates, judging from the messages above, but is probably just a company scamming for personal information. I am also on the DNC list.

Does no good to block their calls, they just keep changing the spoofed number. Our only hope is that the FTC does their job and shuts them down. Seem with the fine this group should get it could pay down our National Debt

These idiots just don't give up with their credit card scam. I've pushed the number asking them to stop calling and they still call. Reported it to the National Do Not Call List and the Kansas attorney general. I'm so fed up now that I push 1 and blow a whistle into the phone whenever this idiot answers it. Serves them right!!!!!!

We are but it is not enforced and telemarketers and of course scam artists out to steal your money or get you to give up personal information simply ignore the list now.  DON'T rely on it protecting you, it has no teeth.

Get that Panasonic DECT 6.0 phone system I wrote about earlier, it will block up to 20 calls that you program in.  Very easy to do!

Good luck.  Don't get taken like my next-door neighbor.  Someone selling magazines called them and simply asked if they 'Might be interested' in some magazines?  When they replied 'Yes' they started receiving over 40 useless magazines every month on multiple-year subscriptions, with following bills.  It took a lawyer's letter to get the seller to back off and cancel.

Hi Charli,

I highly recommend you consider purchasing a Panasonic-brand DECT 6.0 telephone system for your home.  They make several sets, most of which have from three to five phones and a main console.  I think Costco and Sam's Club and Wal-mart all have them, Best Buy and Staples also.  They are surprisingly reasonable in cost.

It features 'CALL BLOCKING' which allows you to program in up to 20 numbers that you want to block.  Easy to do this (even I can!).  When a number is on the 'blocked' list, you will only hear one and a half rings, then it goes directly to a busy signal or an annoying FAX-type tone signal for the caller.  You can delete and add the 20 programmed numbers in and out as you need to.

We got this Panasonic phone system and now just 'block' those annoying calls.  You can too!

Recorded message--This is your second and final call to lower your credit card interest rates.  Press 1 to take with a representative.  I did so to tell them to quit calling and when I talked with the representative and told her I was on the no call list she terminated the call.  Why are these people allowed to do this? I'm reporting them.  This is the 2nd call in less then 2 hours. Apparently they buy our numbers from the credit bureaus (seems a bit unethical that they Credit bureaus are allowed to sell our info.  Want this to stop. Call your federal and local elected Representative and start complaining. If we let them know that we will vote depending on their actions about this they'll do something. Personally I'm for getting rid of both parties as they are both high priced w***es (and at least prostitutes provide a valuable service).

Get these people pretty frequently.  Obnoxious recorded message.  I can't believe anyone is so stupid that they would do business with them.  I will probably go thru the hassle of having it blocked.  Does anybody else feel like the Do Not Call List is too ineffective?
