I got a call from this #425-320-3320 and it did leave a message stating it was from verizon in a very urgent tone stating they had tired to reach me on numerous attempts.  Asking me to call 877-580-3934 I have never gotten a call from this # thats why i looked it up. It really did have a scam fell about it.
I am not past due with verizon. I also got a letter in the mail stating that my discount with verison is no longer valid and asked me to call some #. When i look online at my account everything is fine. I think this is some type of scam artist that is gleaming on to the verizon name and logo...... Hopefully these people will be caught.

The calls are from Verizon Wireless. The calls are either from their ?FINANCIAL SERVICES" department or they have subcontracted to a debt collection agency to collect on a past bill. They are probably using a credit report to look up old contact phone numbers or the old home phone number that was listed on the former or current Verizon Wireless customer?s application.

They also use phone numbers 714-422-0590 and 949-286-3311.

If you have a Verizon Wireless account, and you are currently past due on your bill(s) then it is a legit call. If you have a child and they listed your phone number as a contact number, then it?s a legit call. Not legit for them to harass you.

If you call Verizon Wireless to check on this stuff, ask to speak to their ?FINANCIAL SERVICES? department, because they will probably have more info than the regular customer service rep.

Is it possible that some scammer could be spoofing these numbers to get money? Yes, it would be possible

Received voicemail from 425-320-3320 that referred call back to 877-389-4861 about "companyname_account." It had no description of what "account" and included a "thank you Verizon customer" but clearly did not claim to be Verizon calling.

Another similar voicemail later in the day from 916-226-5776 that referred call back to 877-580-3934 with urgent tone "made several attempts to reach company_name." Still no description of what "account" and this time, no reference to Verizon.

Clearly phishing.

Yes, this is a scam. No, do not give out any info. Either contact Verizon Wireless (as others have suggested) to report, or ignore it. Thank you, Reg, for pointing out that Lou is clueless when it comes to those numbers. He did, however, make a valid suggestion when it came to contacting Verizon in a legit manner. I don't blame your tone with him, however, as he did come off as being a bit pompous and condescending.

I have had at least 20 calls from 4243203320 - verizon wireless - looking for a person I do not know.  I assume this is collections.   I have never been a verizon customer.

I called the number in the message but that did no good.   I called verizon customer service and they could not help.   I registered a complaint with the FTC.

I went to the verizon website and sent them an email with my complaint.  I got a response back from them so hopefully this will end this annoyance.

I will NEVER EVER be a verizon customer.

Lou is wrong. The number that has been calling my wife's phone as well as mine is 425-320-3320, and Verizon states that this number has NO CONNECTION to Verizon. Nor does the 877-580-3934 number that the voice mail directs you to call. I just got off the phone with Verizon, and they are blocking both of those numers for me.

I am not "past due" don't have any issues with my account. This is phishing, plain and simple. Nothing to do with "Financial Services" or credit or debt collection. Sorry, Lou, but you don't know what the hell you are talking about, and you are doing a disservice to those trying to sort this out..

recording ask for a person named rick strucy (something like that) and gave a phone number to call, recorded message said from verizon.  My name is not "Rick", I'm female.  Some Idiot at verizon must have punched in wrong phone number.  I'm so done with verizon!  There is no benefit to a two year contract, no rebates, no discounts, I pay a large amount even if I'm not using it, and I have to pay more if I use more minutes one month and lose minutes I don't.

I would never give credit card information to an inbound call.  Make sure YOU make the call so you know that it is not a scam.  Contact Verizon yourself.

They call our house and leave a message for my husband and say that they have been trying to contact us about our Verizon Wireless Account.  We do not have, nor have we ever had, a Verizon wireless account.  We don't even have a Verizon land line.

Scammers.

I keep getting a call on my cell from 424-320-3320, it's a recording saying that I need to call Verizon messaging center and to reference my cell phone number.  I contacted Verizon who is my carrier and they stated that they do not contact anyone in this mannor and they took the numbers and they stated that they will investigate.  Verizon also advised me not to call and reference my number.  I don't know why they are so insistant and there are other numbers that call also, such as 480-648-0136, 480-648-0124 and 877-580-3934. This is some sort of scam.

If you think it's a scam hangup and call Verizon Wireless via your Verizon Wireless cellphone by dialing 611 or by calling their customer service department via their 800 number, which is available on http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/contact/index.jsp
