I recieved this call last night and I did'nt answer it. Then I saw the comments on this site. I did'nt know if it was legit or not, so I called them. It is a good number and all they wanted to know was the address I had given on a credit card order was correct. I had placed an order that morning that was being shipped to a different address. They just wanted to verify to be sureit was correct. It is a good phone number from a good auto parts distributor who works with (in my case) J.C Whitney. so do trust them, they're OK.

Just got a call from same number. Had ordered parts from Auto Warehouse but told they were out of stock. The woman I talked to was clearly not from this country. Also got confirmation email from Auto Warehouse. Then following day got one VM from this number that shows up as Inglewood and answered second call. They had my address and telephone number but wanted my debit card. I said I would call back. Automated answering service says something like Parts Train. The guy was not at extension he gave me so I hung up. Fishy.

something fishy going on with this number. asian lady asking me about an auto part order that i had placed. She acted surprised when i said i'd already taken care of it, and hung up suddenly.

Add 424-702-2650 to this list of scams. The voicemail said he was following up on some form I had filled out. Judging between the above responses and my own experience, they are rotating scams through the same, and similar, number(s).

This makes sense now to me, too. I'm also currently dealing with AutoPartsWarehouse.

Got a all from here, turned out to be a question about some parts that I ordered from J.C. Whitney. It was all legit and didn't ask for any credit card numbers or anything like that, just letting me know that a part was out of stock and I just went and cancelled that part of my order. Was not a U.S. area, sounded like overseas somewhere and nosiy in the background. NEVER give any personal info to anyone over the phone!!

I had ordered some fog lights from JC Whitney. About 4 hours after I did, I got an email from them saying they are no longer in stock, so I ordered from another company, got a call today from this number saying they are from JC Whitney and that this part is now in stock and they will hold it for me. I emailed JC Whitney to check on this and am still waiting to hear back. If this is how JC Whitney does business, I will not order from them anymore.

This is the internet auto parts retailer "Parts Train." I returned a part and they were verifying my order.

This is a serious scam and it seems nobody is wise to it. I have been following these scammers and others for quite some time. They take your money with no intention of selling you a part, then they hold your money for as long as they can bs you, 2 weeks to a month. I think they have figured a way to draw short term interest off it. It makes sense if you do it continuously on a large scale like 20 to 50 thousand sales a month. If you added huge numbers like this up and drew interest or some used those numbers on paper I bet it would be alot of money. I reported these and others to ebay but ebay has their own agenda, money!

call me and ask for my credit card numbers......

This number is legit for carpartswholesale.com. I did place an order with them on 7/29 and they mysteriously forgot my order but charged my card the second I placed the order. The confirmation email they send you clearly states they will not charge your card until the order is shipped. After a few minutes of waiting the "manager" said they would cancel the order and refund the money.
I don't think this is a scam, just an example of outsourced labor by a crappy American company. I'll probably cancel my credit card after the refund shows up just to be safe.

Called and wanted to confirm our address (we recently changed our name) and then asked for my name. I asked who he was calling with and he replied he was looking for a shop to take his car. When I asked him if he would like to be transferred to our service department to make an appointment he said no and hung up.

Asked if I was a shop and wanted to know my shop rate. Also wanted to know if I would let my customer bring his own pads for a brake job. I asked who they were and she said automd... however, I heard a lot of telemarketer type of chatter in the background.
biker 2011-06-06 20:49:09 Unknown
Called and asked a few questions and I told them I was not a shop. Wrong number here. do not call again. That was last week. They called again today and I told them the same thing.
rob 2011-06-06 20:49:09 Unknown
several hangup calls from this number, but i HAVE gotten a few of the will you pay for a towtruck bill and cover parts scam calls as well from them.
Adam 2011-06-06 20:49:09 Unknown
Definitely Auto Parts Network. Answer the phone for if you've ordered something they're fulfilling (like from partstrain), they may be calling to let you know an item on your order is not available.
