They have entered into revenue sharing agreements with telemarketers who make illegal unsolicited telephone calls. They profit directly from these outbound unsolicited telephone calls.
This appears to be a clear violation of a number of laws, including 16 C.F.R. §310.3(b) of the Federal Telemarketing Sales Rule.

The pleasant recorded female voice said "Hello seniors...." at this point, I hung up.

Could be phreakers trying to access information, contact lists, personal info, passwords, account data, etc??
**Change passwords often** It just takes a few of the correctly dropped tones and phreakers could access your administrative controls or worse install tracking packets, malware, trojans; especially with all of the social media crazed smart phones we have at our fingertips.

Several calls to report over the last week, a few numbers are new to my rotation of annoyance, although I've gotten "NOVATEL" from 269-768-2550 before (a lot). It's been a pretty tasty Saturday so far, and I'm hoping that all people who have been subjecting me to this annoyance, and all their families, die painfully in a car fire. Just my special wish for them during this holiday season. Here are the calls I've gotten this week:
602-459-7170 @ 2012-12-26 09:56am - No Caller ID Name (new for me, missed it previously)
415-363-9574 @ 2013-01-03 09:50am - NOVATEL (new #, familiar name)
425-320-5068 @ 2013-01-03 12:30pm - WIN MILLIONS (new for me)
480-214-2884 @ 2013-01-05 09:23am - HIGHLANDS
480-442-2429 @ 2013-01-05 03:03pm - No Caller ID Name
602-357-1866 @ 2013-01-05 03:47pm - No Caller ID Name (new for me)
I suspect these may be part of the same scam organization that stuck my number in their auto-dialer over nine months ago and has been harassing me ever since. More detail and numbers that have been bombarding me with calls are listed in my posts here:

My number is registered on the "Do Not Call" list, and these dumb a** calls just keep coming! I don't know what else to do!

So is it a sweepstakes offer or a debt collector? Or a debt collector posing as a sweepstakes offer?
There doesn't seem to be much consensus on who is using this number.

Or lets focus on the scammers and put it in another way. Scammers will call people to rip them off, but they refuse to give out their personal numbers cause they can't take what they dish out. Real cowards.

Facebook and social networking sites reminds me of such people.
As long as I and my company sells your information for a profit, it's all good but if somebody leaks or sells my information for a profit, I'll make a hissy fit. Rings any bell?

And if they are Turd Service in disguise, you can't opt out by pressing any number.
Opt-Out and be FREE 2012-12-27 19:25:44 Telemarketer
Call them back and you get an automated "sales pitch" that you won something, however, there is an OPT-OUT Option (Press 5 - Then Press 1) All telemarketers must require an OPT-OUT option from their calling list and to do so just call them back, listen to the quick "you won" message and then press 5 to OPT-OUT.
Same for the # 701-248-1216 (its the same exact stupid telemarketer message)

Bogus "million dollar sweepstakes entry" call. Illegal telemarketing call to a cell phone.
SFCHIPPSLB 2012-12-19 17:30:09 Unknown
Received a call with "Win Millions" in the caller id spot. Left no message. I called back-telemarketers.

This number is a collector and should be saved as such in your phone. The unfortunate thing is that they leave voicemails that eat up time that could be better utilized by people that I actually have my permission to leave a message. I would LOVE if cell phone service providers allowed users to BLOCK certain numbers from leaving a message. Would be a God-send for collections calls as well as harrassing calls from known parties. Voting season would be a lot more bearable as well.
This number did not leave a message but when I called back I listened to an "offer" for a million dollar sweepsteaks.
The caller needs to complete a brief survey. Odds of winnin are 1 in 100 million.
They ask name and address and move on to the survey (Seems a little weird)
They ask for your address ( Seems creepier, they cannot even offer a lower level phone operator)
Sergey 2012-12-18 03:19:58 Unknown
They left no any message. Fake sweepstakes.

When I had answered they hung up. When I called back it was some kind of free offer for a $1,000,000 sweepstakes entry

If that's the case how some Trungpa Rinpoche's post show that they are fake debt collectors? Do fake debt collectors offer fake telemarketing sweepstakes deals as well?

A message to all those who write nonsense and overreact to the call without knowing who it is. I called it and it is a telemarking sweapstakes offer-no big deal.
