DNC is useless...computers are calling your phone.  How is DNC suppose to work?

It rang twice and then nothing. I have heard that these callers just want to see when you pick up the phone so they can contact solicitors to let them what time during a particular day you are available

Thats  BS Cal;ling back only confirms they have an Active number and a sucker willing to do as thje recording says. Do Not make call backs to any number theinking they will remove you from robo-dial. If they are going to VIOLATE the LAW  by calling you even with a recorded call .They are not taking the time to remove callers. Take a look at any of the litigation against these callers and you will see that they do NOT remove numbers from their Data bases unless FINED and the RECORDS turned over to the DOJ. Only then will the number be removed when the DOJ has their databases..they don't delete numbers because they sell and rent out these databases to other  telemarketing companies...

I just got a call from this #. I don't answer the phone to any # I don't recognize. I have an answering machine to screen calls. Everyone I know knows to start talking & if I'm home I will pickup. Sometimes I answer & say F~~~Off & hang up. LOL!!!  It's too bad a lot of people out there fall for these scams.

The way the these scams work is there are companies that manage the Caller ID database. Whenever a call is placed your phone company uses one of these databases in order to display the incoming call on your phone (Caller ID). Your phone company pays these companies for the use of their caller ID database. It's cheaper for them to pay another company than maintain the caller ID database themselves. Your phone company is billed, a fraction of a penny per access to the database, each month by these companies based on how many times they accessed the caller ID database. You pay a fee each month to cover the cost for the phone company but you pay much more to the phone company then the phone company pays to the caller ID database companies.

So, the caller ID company makes millions by using telemarketing companies to auto-dial as many numbers as they can in a day. Each time the auto-dialer finds a match in the caller ID database it charges the phone company for the use of their database. The phone company makes millions by adding an additional fee to your phone bill and consumers lose millions because we are paying the added fee. It's a scam. This is why the Do Not Call list is useless. The phone companies have bought off the politicians to not enforce the laws. Think about it. If the NSA can track every phone call made and find a terrorist in the haystack don't you think they can track down a company that makes millions of calls a day in violation of the Do Not Call list?

The only way to stop this is to cancel your caller ID subscription. Once the phone company realizes that consumers have figured out the game they will put a stop to it.

Also, when the auto-dialer calls your number and your number is not in the caller ID database they do not bill the phone company for that transaction so it's a waste of their time and resources to continue to call you. Now that does not mean they will stop calling you but I suspect that after a couple of months the fact that your number does not have caller ID will work its way through their system and eventually your number will be removed.

As far as the free vacation or lower interest on your credit cards, if they get a sucker on the line to bite that's just a bonus. The real money is in the caller ID database fees.

I personally have a fax machine connected to my line that picks up on the 4th ring. It has reduced the number of calls I receive considerably.

When you get calls from numbers like this that you don't recognize, lift the receiver for a fraction of a second to trip the ringing, and HANG UP! The central office will return a ?fast busy? to the caller. This works almost as well as a ?SIT Disconnected? recording to get you off of the telescammer?s call list.

Never EVER say anything, or push any buttons on your phone! The caller WILL know they have a ?live? person, and they will KEEP CALLING!

This is a telemarketer for home security systems, "let us place a sign in your yard and we will give you a free home security system." These are just more telescabs trying to part you from your money.

Called today at noon and left message about home improvement. As phone numbers are now portable DNC registry is no help as calls originate outside USA. Even though it says Washington State. My land line provider has a free service to block calls. I just dial a # after the annoying call and it gets blocked. Annoying scam calls have lessened. I had to call provider and ask about service, they did not publicize it.

I heard the do not call list doesn't work.  They'll just keep calling :(.

This number just called here and the ID came up the phone number instead of "unknown" or "unavailable". first time for that. Left no message. We are on the do Not Call list. Doesn't seem to matter does it?

I just got a call which I will add to my block list.  I will now get no ring but will get a list of blocked calls on my phone.

You can block 250 numbers plus kill the one ring that existed on earlier models that only allowed 30 blocked numbers.
The one handset model sells for $70 at Amazon.

Just a quickie on this and other annoying numbers.  I have no vm on my phone - BY CHOICE!  I look up the number when it comes in from the caller ID and do not answer it.  I also have Privacy Directory - if I pick up and do not know who it is, I do not have to answer --- only hang up.  They get the message and call back only once or twice.  Since they cannot leave a message, they soon quit.  People who know me and the set up call back immediately and if I answer, then they know that I know it is they and not some idiot or robo call.  Easy fix to a problem that seems to defy the knowledge or effort of the 1-800-donotcall folks.  They do not seem to want to handle any of these calls and continue to not stop them,,,,,,even though thousands of us report them every day, all day.  Take the solution to yourself!  Save your energy and put it to better use.

No name, just the number in the caller ID.......robocall left a voicemail about a "no-cost security system". Sure...........

I didn't recognize the number and didn't answer. When I did a reverse look up it said it was from Bellevue CA.  There was no company name just the phone number showed up twice in my caller ID window. I am registered on the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY, how do these callers get my number?

I received a call from this number at 12:57 pm.   do not know anyone from this number and have checked and good job I didn't answer if its a scam.  I have caller ID and there was no name listed just the number and no city?
