425-636-2001 called me at 5:50 tonight and claimed to be from Verizon Wireless. They called me by my last name so I told them they had the wrong number. They persisted and again asked if this was "my last name". I said no and hung up.

This # has called my cell 3 times. Two of the times I answered there was only silence so I hung up. The third time, still only silence, but this time I waited. After about 30 seconds they hung up.This is deffenetly sketchy. I would highly suggest not calling the # back. With all the scams out there you don't know what could happen.

Several missed calls from this number- no messages left, just like everyone else

It was Verizon Wireless. They called me twice in a row without leaving messages. I did a quick google search of the number and found this site, then answered. When I answered the call, they were calling to ask me about my service and to try to upgrade me to use VCast. I told them that I wasn't interested, and that I had looked up their number on google and found that others have received these calls from her phone number. She asked if she was calling my cell phone. I told her yes. She said, "oh, it is listed as your home number. We're not supposed to call your cell." Which in my case, my cell is my home number. So she was accurate about that.

I don't usually answer calls from numbers I don't recognize and I've been receiving calls from this number for the past few days. It never left a voice mail, so I never worried about it.
However, today was different. It left a voice mail which appeared to be the end of a recording saying: "...still waiting. Hold Please."

I called back and it said that the number had been disconnected.

Very odd.

Like the other posts, I've received numerous (8 according to my cell ... possibly more) calls over the past 7 days.  Never leave a message.  Interestingly, when I tried to call the number tonight, I got the message the the number has been disconnected and/or is no longer in service!

I never answer this number - it calls my cell 4 times in a row and doesn't leave a message.

The first time it happened I was at the gym and luckily missed all the calls. I figured any number I couldn't get info on through Google and who called me 4 times in a row was shady. Sounds like I'm right if they're now bugging other people!

they called me and hung up when I called back the number wouldn't go through but when I called it just adding 2000 to the end it was a Fred Meyer store. The woman told me that there is a fraud going on so dont give anyone any information that calls with the 2001 number. They are still trying to figure out who is using it.
