Jennifer from "Account Services" recording. Pressed 1 and the woman said she would like to lower my interest rates. I do not have any credit cards or debt so knew it was a scam. I told her I knew she needed a job and could sympathize -- but getting people to give out their credit card numbers is a very very bad thing to do, and she would be doing much better for herself and other people if she didn't steal credit cards for a living. Then I hung up. Why does the govt not go after these people?

FIRSTLY, I AM ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST SO I WAS VERY SUSPICIOUS OF THIS CALL.
I ANSWERED AND PRESSED 1 TO BE CONNECTED TO AN OPERATOR TO DISCUSS MY CREDIT CARD ACCOUNT. THEN, THIS GUY GOT ON THE LINE WITH AN ACCENT AND WANTED ME TO GIVE HIM ALL OF MY CREDIT CARD NUMBERS AND EXPIRATION DATES SO THAT HE COULD VERIFY MY ACCOUNTS AND LOWER ALL OF THE APR % RATES ON ALL OF THE CARDS...
WHEN I QUESTIONED HIM, HE GOT RUDE AND TRIED TO MAKE ME FEEL LIKE HE WAS TRYING TO HELP ME AND THAT I WAS MAKING IT DIFFICULT. WHEN I ASKED HIM HOW HE WAS ABLE TO ACCESS MY MULTIPLE CREDIT CARDS FROM MULTIPLE COMPANIES, HE SAID THAT HIS COMPUTER SYSTEM ALLOWED HIM EASILY BECAUSE HE WAS FROM VISA AND MASTERCARD.  THIS SOUNDS SCARY AND NOW I WONDER HOW I GOT ON HIS LIST. I TOLD HIM I HAVE NO CREDIT CARDS AND WONDERED HOW HIS 'COMPUTER' TOLD HIM THAT I DO. HE SAID THAT SINCE I HAVE NO CARDS, HE DIDN'T HAVE ANYTHING FURTHER TO OFFER ME AND THEN HE HUNG UP.
REPORT THIS NUMBER!!!

Mark - actually a lot of times retailers want your phone number for coupons, or demographics reasons too.  I'm not saying they didn't sell your number, but more than likely they didn't.  When I go to a retailer that asks for my number, I tell them I don't want to give it out.  I really am betting this happens to be a coincidence.

went to Burlington Coat Factory in Oak Creek, WI and the girl asked for my phone number. I thought it was weird, but didn't think anything about it. Some places ask for a Zip code for demographic reasons, like when scouting for a new store location, I thought they would use my area code. That night I got a call from this number and missed it. Left a message about an offer. And have on and off for the last few weeks. It's my cell phone and those numbers are usually blocked. Whoever Burlington Coat Factory sold my number to is behind it. It's WAY to coincidental.

Just got a robocall saying it was in regard to my credit card account. I pressed 0 to try to speak to a person and got someone in India that spoke very fast and mumbled and I couldn't hear a word he said, even after repeatedly asking him to slow down and speak clearly. I tried to ask what company it was calling me and the only thing I heard was "credit card company". The caller ID says the call came from Everett Washington.

LOL  I received a call from this number but did not answer.  When I called them back, I got a recording saying that the number could not be connected.  I believe the reason is that I work for another credit card company (think Don't Leave Home Without It) and they were calling my work number.  Think that made their heart skip a beat?  I really would have enjoyed having a conversation with them.

Got a call today 7/20, at 5pm.  I pressed !, asked the person which credit card they represented, and they only said "Visa and Mastercard."  I asked again which company, and they hung up.  I redialed the number, and a person from an industrial supply co answered -- and said they received other calls like this.  They had no idea why their number was being used.   I will be reporting this to my credit caed company -- and phone provider.

These people are Indian criminals who have people in America hacking the phone systems and databases trying to steal your information. Keep flooding the FBI and IC3 with complaints. Next time these people call, have them call you back at your "new number". Proceed to give them the number to your local FBI field office. If the FBI gets enough of these callbacks, they will do something about the con artists.

I am angry and mystified by the fact that these types of calls are made to so many people and nothing is done about it.  Police and government officials can track down people but do not track down these people.    A thousand wammies on the phone company who gave us caller ID and then issued unknown/private, etc. to businesses and people like this.

I had two messages on my answering machine from this company.  How do they choose who to call?  It makes me wonder if they have some knowledge of those who have credit cards and if they know that what else do they know?

I got a call from this number today (07/14/2010), but was not home to answer it. I probably would not have answered it anyway because I don't recognize the number. They did not leave a message. I am on the do-not-call list as well, but somehow some companies still have my phone number.

Just use a good whistle. When you get a live person, then use the whistle on them. Do you think they care if you want them to call or not. Try filing a complaint with the FTC and see what answer you get back from them so using a whistle does a better job. And no, I don’t care about the person that bothers me! If they want to pay for my phone bill then they can call me all they want.  Oh, I’m getting my money’s worth with my whistle.

9:09 AM Jul 14, 2010

I received this call from Credit Services 435-645-9767 with a recording that sounded like it was my bank calling about my credit card security. Then they made the pitch about lowering my interest rate. I hit 1 and told the person answering that I am on the national do-not-call list. He muttered with a heavy foreign accent and hung up.

I reported it to FTC 1-877-382-4357.

Just got a call here at 1:43 PM PST and they hung up on my answering machine. Glad I did not tangle with any of them. The Do Not Call List seems worthless to me. I'm reporting it to the FTC anyways.

Just received a call from 425-645-9767.  Same story........man w/ accent wanted my credit card expiration dates so he could lower my interest rates.  I told him I was not comfortable giving him the info he said "I am not allowed to ask for secure information like the security code on the back of the card".  I said what is my credit card number?  He proceeded to tell me he represents all credit card companies and even mentioned Sears as well a Visa & Mastercard.  I finallly said "I'm sorry......I'm not comfortable with this and hung up.

Sorry, but I am puzzled.   Are Visa and Mastercard not competitors in the Credit Card market?   No one would phone on behalf of both, or would they?

I received  a call from this fellow with a heavy foreign accent who purported to be working for Visa/MasterCard and wanted to know if I was interested in locking in a low interest rate on my credit card.  He indicated the rates were in the process of increasing.  The call sounded suspicious and I hung up before I made the mistake of answering a question that could be damaging.

Received a caller id Credit Services, 1 425 645 9767 call at 9:51 am est, July 13, 2010, Central Florida, I answered because we are investigating some suspicious credit card charges on our last month’s statement and I had changed all online passwords, run virus scans on all computers and had a lock put on my credit information.  The message went something like this.  This is Visa and MasterCard Services calling to inform you that your introductory rate on your card is about to expire, and if you wish to continue at the low six percent introductory rate you must contact our offices immediately.  Well, I only have one card and I have had it for some time, so I am thinking well someone has taken our information and opened a new account so I press one for the operator.  I proceed to ask her which credit card the introductory rate is on, she says Chase, I don't have a Chase card so then I asked her when the account was opened and if I could get the number because there was an investigation going on and I thought my identity may have been taken and she hung up on me.   I then called the identity guard people who are supposed to be monitoring our credit, and I am now sure this was a phishing con so beware, also b sure to REPORT IT TO BBB Scams division and FCT Fraud.
