New hobby - keeping track of all the scam calls I get & reporting them online.  Nine different companies have called in the last two weeks alone.

Please don't call.

Obviously they are calling a number that unsolicited calls are supposed to be blocked to telemarketers.  I would like them to remove my number from their list.

We received a "missed" call from this number.  Close to a relatives number so called back.  Got a message that this number is no longer in service, only a hour after we received the call.  This is happening more and more.  If you disconnect the number within an hour, what are you trying to hide?  Above references have stated both a security system and a telecommunications service.  So what kind of scam is going on this time?

I AGREE WITH EVERYONE WHO SAID " DON'T ANSWER UR PHONE" - I DON'T, IF I DON'T RECOGNIZE THE CALLER ID.  I HAD A STROKE AND MY MOBILITY IS NOT GREAT, BUT I HAVE KIDS AND A HUSBAND AND WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT IT'S NOT AN EMERGENCY CALL FROM EITHER OF THEM.

Received a call this morning.  Caller ID shows "Out of Area".  No message left.

they are just checking if they can rob your house..do not tell them you dont have an alarm...i told him I dont need an alarm when I have a shot gun..click.

Fed Up is right - these people are nothing but criminals and to respond in any way at all is dumb.  

You think they will respect your request to be taken off their list?  Why would they?  They're already ignoring Federal law.  

My advice is get caller ID and do not answer when these scammers call.  

I'm not sure if you should take the time to report to Donotcall.gov or not.  I do it all the time and nothing at all happens.  Also, I think when the Feds do go after someone, the fine and penalty is low.

Do not answer.  

Block the number if your phone has that capability.  

Add them to your phone's address book under SCAM (if you can).

Do not press any number to be removed from their list.  You are only confirming that yours is a real phone number.  

Do not press any number to speak to a representative because they will only hang up on you or, worse yet, they will curse at you.

Do not give them any of your personal information -- not your name, not your address, and especially not your credit cards.

These guys are all scammers.  They do not care about the do not call list because they are using a robo-dialer to harass as many people as they can.  Some people are gullible enough to fall for their illegal scheme.

Last, but certainly not least, REPORT THEM to www.donotcall.gov.  Immediately.  'They' cannot do anything about it unless they know how pervasive and widespread these calls are.

Keep a whistle handy by your phone, saves your blood pressure and is soooooo satisfying.

I tried to complain to both sites and neither could help - "We don't handle this, call the FTC" - so that was a big waste of my time.

I continue to get calls from different Phone Numbers same SCAM about installing a security System.
They want to install a Free GE system, you just pay monitoring fee,.

They say they are calling at the recomendation of a Friend or Neighbor - Yea what ever

They get Nasty when you push them for answers when you take them off script. - Opps To Bad.

Dialing the number back is fast busy - Yea SCAM alright!!

And when pressed they say they are from South FL - Ft. Myers - Now, to me, the guy on the phone did not appear to be speaking in a language that woud indicate a US citizen.

Report unwanted/illegal text messages to 7726 - I have found that to be very helpful in getting that stuff stopped.

Same as all of the above.  2nd call in past hour about "free security system" from 2 different numbers.  These people should go to jail.  I have an aunt who has Alzheimer's and they leave her scared for days with the "high crime in your area" spiel.  
I hope these people rot in H3LL for their actions.  Would someone add a Call Type of Scumbag to the list?

Yep  same number here in NC I didn't answer.  I never answer my phone unless I see that it is family.  You want to tell me something,  MAIL it to my address.

This number calls me all the time with the message "This is not a sales call. Crime in your area has been going up" then tells me I have been referred to them for a free home security evaluation.
