when the calls come in, i answer and hit the end button right away. to their robo system it seems like the call went through and i usually don't get anymore calls from them.

I know that caller ID spoofing is illegal.  I wish I new how to compat or stop it.
Any ideas?

Tried to sell a home security system to my elderly mom who has cognitive problems. I intervened and ended the conversation. She's on the "do not call" list which I thought would protect her from these predators, but it doesn't stop the harassment at all. What a joke!

The caller ID said "Phone Call" -- geez, I thought it was the door bell! Didn't answer.

ID was Phone Call. I  did not answer. From the other comments, I guess it's the same company I get on spam which warns me about criminals who have moved close to me. This company is a criminal in my book.,

I finally got this call!  "The FBI reports that, bla, bla,bla...home security.  Press 1 to be connected"

I pressed 1 and effed with the caller for a little while - sounded like India.

Have now blocked their calls.

Buy a call blocking phone.

Panasonic & Uniden make great call blocking phones.  They're cheap, they work flawlessly and they come with at least 1 wireless handset.

Got call from this number about 9:30 our time, this morning.  No one there.  I suspect scam too.

Called at 1:51 PM.  Caller ID said PHONE CALL.  Did not answer and caller did not leave message.

Got the same phone call at 9:31 am, caller ID shows Phone Call only and the phone number. FTC really needs to crack down on these Scamming phone calls.

I had to look this one up because my caller ID said PHONE CALL, too.  What a hoot!  They left no message.

Same deal as Ron Konkoma above - called at 12:07 and caller ID says PHONE CALL.  Yeah, no kidding.

This number called 8/24/12. Caller ID said " Phone Call" Did not pick up. No message on ans. machine. Now that I see it's a scam, will not pick up if called again.

I am on the DNC list.  What a joke!!!  Frequet telemarketer calls. I am keeping track of #'s & dates & time of calls.

I got the "free" home security scam robocall again.  Been getting it for a couple months now and always from a different number.  3 days ago they used the number (802) 488-3051.  I always press 9 to be removed from their call list, even though I know they are not a reputable company, and therefore do not follow that list,  Then I report them to the FTC at ftc.gov.  I suggest everyone report them every time they call.  If you bother federal workers long enough they might actually do something besides collect a big fat pension.

Caller ID says "PhoneCall".  Based on other's messages about FBI scam, ignored.  No repeats.

Just received a call from this number. Dead silence on the other end. I hung up. Called ID said PHONE CALL when I checked it.

Home security system scam. Claims to offer "free" home security system provided you allow a small sign to be placed in your yard.  Do not give these scam artists your personal or financial information and certainly not your credit card number.  I hung up because I suspected fraud.

freaking recorded message scam/robo calls.  my poor child answered the phone and was upset because the message was "from the fbi about break ins!!"  really sad that people really get sucked into this crap.

Just got a call from this number even though I have  privacy screening and call blocking.  If they aren't going to call me from their "real" phone # I sure as heck have no need to speak with them. I agree with JHM it has SCAM written all over it.

On call back this number comes up as disconnected or no longer in service.

According to the recorded message that played to my voice mail this was an offer for mortgage assistance (loan mod. or similar)

Reading between the lines it says "SCAM"!

How many legitimate businesses do you know call from FAKED or BLOCKED numbers??

I'm receiving calls from this number today, and they leave no message. The caller ID says "Kirkland"  I am wondering if this is related to the scam phone # 425-998-1533 (Bellvue,Wa.) which was making unrelenting calls back in January (up to 10 call/hang-ups a day). I am on the Do Not Call registry, but still get these garbage calls from parties I've never had any even remotely related business affiliation with.  I don't answer, but keep track of the numbers. They never leave messages, so I figure it is a telemarketer or some scam.
