A scam.  stop callling.

This number called and asked for me by name. When I asked who was calling the man stated he was from Direct Buy in Naperville (IL i'm assuming) When I asked him to please remove my number from their calling list, he told me " You need to go F*ck you self" and hung up.  I will be contacting Direct Buy regarding this. I'm going to guess they have no idea the telemarketing company they hired employs inconsiderate and rude people.

Here's the answer to all your prayers.  Telemarketers almost exclusively use "autodialers" to make their calls.  One out of a thousand will have the reps doing the dialing.  When these dialers connect (you answer the phone) they listen for any tones generated.  They then transfer the call to one of the reps in a call center.  "IF" the autodialer hears the 3 beeps from dialing a "DISCONNECTED" number, the number just dialed is automatically "REMOVED" from their list.  Below is a link that has this tone PLUS the verbal message.  You DO NOT need the verbal message.  Download or copy the "DISCONNECTED" MP3 or WAV file to your desktop.  Create or change the greeting you have when someone calls you and you're not available.  At the VERY BEGINNING of the message place the 3 tones (NOT THE VOICE MESSAGE).  The autodialer will hear the tones and BINGO, your number
will be removed since they think it's a disconnected number.  After you insert the 3 tones play your regular greeting.  DONE.  In a few weeks you will be off of all the lists.  Of course you may have to explain the tones to the callers you DO want to speak to but that's a small tradeoff.  Pass this info on
to people you know that get junk calls or even help post this on these websites.  GET RID OF JUNK CALLS.

You forget, even after he's OUT, he and his family will continue to collect a FAT amount of your tax dollars for the rest of their lives just like all the rest of the RICH politicians that need, so desperately need that retirement money.  It's the "SCREW YOU" process just carrying on.

I have an unlisted phone number and they STILL call me!  They also have called my cell phone.  I don't care about all this political crap, and I wish they'd leave me alone.

12APR2012 9:42pm got 'missed' call from 425-658-8994 on my cell phone. Did not answer unrecognised number. No message left in voice mail. Phone is registered with FTC "Do-Not-Call" list. So much for our 'efficient' government at work.

Got a call at my home phone AND my cell phone.  That's messed up.

Yes I have rewceived a call from this number on 4-12-12 at 930 am. I was at work so couldn't answer. They did not leave a message .

I keep getting calls from the number and want it to stop.

Called CELL phone, (on DNC list), on 2012-04-12.  Did not answer.

Added them as a contact titled, "425-658-8994," so that I don't pick up. Odd thing is, they almost never call back ... I have a list of "scam contacts" a mile long now. Are they using throwaway phones?

I know of only two ways to block them:

1. If your landline provider offers it, it's a "call block" feature (they can give you the particulars)

2. Instead of a landline (or phone through cable TV), get VOIP such as PhonePower.  My brother has had this service for at least 3 years and LOVES it! PhonePower offers many features including call block that you manage yourself online.  And PP costs WAY less than conventional landline service (another bonus!)

I got this message when I tried calling back: "The number you have called is temporarily out of service..."

The DNC list is usless for a LOT of calls now because most are spoofed calls from a predatory call center in Mumbai.  The FBI has tried for 12 years to shut them down but can't because they are considered a "legitimate" business in India. (Russia just opened up a dozen or so call centers, too, so it's only going to get WORSE.)

Despite the fact that Americans, particularly the elderly, are losing millions of dollars to these low-life dirtbags, our state reps and assorted Congresspeople aren't interested in doing anything about it, saying it's "not on their radar..."  Too bad we couldn't find a way to forward ALL of these annoying calls directly to them! It would sure get "on their radar" pretty quickly, don't you think?

For now, I will put on noise-cancelling headphones and blast an air horn into the phone in the hopes that the caller's head will simply explode (thus rendering him/her unable to ever call me - or you - again...)

Same here - Got a "Missed Call" 4/12/12 @ 4:32pm on my cell & I too am on all "Do Not Call" lists & have been (with updating them) for LONGGGG time!!! Sure would like to get back at them, but I found that they too get on (a telemarketers Do Not Call list and that's why they don't ans. when we call them back). So guess there's NOTHING we can do to get these calls STOPPED!!!! It's NOT right! We're almost 80 yrs old, not of good health, need phs. for Medical reasons, our sleep (in old age is hard to get anyway) is disrupted as well as everything else we neeed to do. WHY does our government let this go on & on?

I get called from this number at least three times a week and have texted them back stating that I don't want to be contacted yet they persist. I have even contacted the National Do Not Call number but they are still calling.

This is a scam.  DO NOT call that number.
