Received three calls from this #. 2 before Christmas and one yesterday. Caller had heavy accent and sounded either Indian or Pakistani. He claimed to be from the Windows Technical Department and that my computer was 90% corrupt. I asked where he was currently located and he said Kentucky. I'm very familiar with KY and when I asked what town another guy with an even thicker accent got on the phone. I kept asking what company and where they are located. He said that his personal information was none of my business. I kept pressing and he became belligerent utilizing foul language. I asked one final time where he was located and he said "in your house, figure it out" and hung up the phone. He gave a very generic American name and a false phone # that wasn't even the correct number of digits to be valid. 100% scam/phishing scandal.
Annoyed in montreal
This number keeps calling. Never leaves a message. I have tried answering - last time I said "do Not call here again" and the response was "ok, I'll call you tomorrow." Indian accent and can hear what sounds like a call centre in the background. I tried phoning the number but it won't work.
I am on the Do not call list but it doesn't help.
How can this be stopped? Last night they phoned at 10pm.
TOTAL SCAM TRYING TO GAIN ACCESS TO YOUR COMPUTER AND DATA. HANGUP IMMEDIATELY!
Man with Asian Indian accent called at 8AM EDT claiming to be Dale from Microsoft. They were receiving reports of Malware on my computer and it was at risk. He was going to help me by telling how to get rid of it and protect my computer. I told him it wasn't on and I wasn't going to turn it on; he hung up. I'm a Software Engineer and have Antivrus/Malware/Firewall software and hardware up the wazoo and run multiple programs regularly that protect my computers from such events. Sorry I didn't get the chance to screw with him and ruin the start of his day like he did mine.
Hopefully you can track this number.
VoIP number as the display name and (425) 668-9265 as the calling number. We never answer VoIP calls - we know no one using it. Some advice: simply don't answer the call if you DON'T KNOW who it is! Even by answering you're letting the robodailer confirm it got a legit number. Anyone can obtain software from the 'net to run a virtual PBX and from there spoof (fake) any other number.
woke us up before sunrise
after a long silence, a monotone voice said "goodbye"
can't the phone company block such calls?
two calls from this number on consecutive nights. the first time, no one said anything after about a minute a computerized voice said, "goodbye". the second night a man was speaking in broken english something about maintenance, my friend could not understand what the man was saying, other than maintenance.
I have received calls from this individual on my home and cell phone and he has called my wife's cell phone. He sounds middle eastern Indian, has a British accent and hangs up when asked to place our number on the companies do not call registry. He has asked my wife for details relating to our computer and I believe he is a punk hacker and hustler near Seattle Washington.
Windows maintenance scam
This person is very aggressive. When he started asking me for info about my computer I refused to give info out. I give no info out about anything to any body. He has an African accent.
Received a call from this number and answered and hung up immediately, then I blocked the number. About an hour later I received another call which was blocked, but the number was the same. Recommend blocking.
Just had a call from same number. Strong accent also. Said he was calling from Windows(?) and said my computer downloaded corrupt files without me knowing. I said I have a security feature on computer and thanked him and hung up. He called right back and it went to voice mail and he said I was going to lose computer. It's a scam...don't fall for it.
no answer...empty call
I saw this call on my phone display and didn't answer it. When I googled it, I found out it could have potentially been a hacker. Thank you for posting this information
Individual has strong accent and claims to be representing computer maintenance...I had the experience of falling for such a call and found out.....fortunately in time, that it was a hacker.
