Do not join! I just went on an interview today and was completely belittled by the sales rep. She tried to make me feel bad about myself and my previous relationships to get me to join...I didn't.

Wow. And I just had a first phone call. They want to meet me to check my background but after all I've just read I start to thinking that its just not worth it. Did u have more experience with them ? I'm new in town so I thought it might be a great opportunity to meet some friends but seriously... Now I'm worry ;)

FML what have I signed up for. The sales pitch is catchy 70% of there members are under the age of 35 ha yeah right. back round checks really.... I played whirly ball with a couple fat girls, a ton of old people and 3 crack heads. They have a very stringent interview process to ensure members are up to there high expetations LMAO more like low un-educated social rejects. They charge a small fee to ensure people of a higher caliber are the only ones able to join and lower class people wont be able to afford it. If i wasnt stupified by how pretty the sales rep was I would have seen it as the scam it was. maybe I can fake my death thatll get me out of it, any one know where I can get a death certificate????

Hello,  I just came from a sales presentation. I was very excited about the concept. However, I thought it was REALLY expensive. I didnt like the way they tried to CLOSE on the spot either. After thinking about it all night, and reading more "negative" than "positive" reviews, I believe I should be able to attend or at the very least "take a peak" at a few of the events.  Afterall, they are asking a lot of money for their services. In this economy especially, there should be a trial period.

I am extremely sick of this number coming up on my phone I would like to stop getting calls from this number.

Asked for info online and now they WILL NOT stop calling.

I didn't answer as I didn't recognize the number.

after hearing about this business on the radio i hit up their site and reluctantly dropped my number (loathe putting personal info on the interwebs) for them to contact me. got called back within the hour. luckily i screen my calls and didnt answer. i find this thread and everyone giving warnings.... and then e and a actually put in a plug on here for themselves.

has anyone noticed or had issues with them selling phone numbers or personal info like email address?

yeah, me and 2 other of my girlfriends were getting tired of meeting ppl at bars, since it can be risky, i heard of E & A from a radio ad, so I thought if the 3 of us go, maybe have some fun, besides they market that they do back ground checks...well after all these posts, and then talking to some other ppl I know who did it,  they said its a waste of money...and that the ppl in the club are not the age I am wanting.  Maybe in certain markets they are a good idea,  but in my area, doesnt seem that great idea.

Called for info and received 2 calls about a week apart.  I returned call and they wouldn't answer the only question I had - how much?  She would only say it's about $100-200 per month.  Then she asked if that is what I usually spend on recreation per month.  I said, "No, way".  She said, "then this is probably not for you".  Snobby company!  Just tell them they're way too expensive!  NO THANKS!  And, who the hell needs a contract for "just fun"!!???

It's a recording saying "to accept press one, to leave a message press two" and it WON'T STOP.  Arrrrgh.

Thanks for all your tips. I do made the mistake of filling out form for information. They do not use the email option which they should. I am not answering call as I am on a cell phone with an eastern number.

HINT - ANYTIME YOU DO NOT WANT TO RECEIVE PHONE CALLS PUT IN YOUR NUMBER AS ALL ZERO'S.  

You do have to enter a valid area code but enter the rest as 000-0000.  Worked for me!

I emailed Events and Adventurers to get some general info and/or a brochure and they have been trying to call me for about 2 months now. They use different numbers also.

Yep, it's Events and Adventures! All I can say is RUN FOREST RUN!!! And don't look back!! E and A has a BBB rating of F,I repeat F, across three states and several pending lawsuits. There are numerous pages where everyone has the same story -- people have been ripped off from over 2,100 to over 3,000 dollars! They can't cancel even if they only went to two events, they're rude and the so called events are nothing but places you could go to on your own like a bar--for a lot cheaper. So unless you want to pay over 2 grand to go somewhere AND pay monthly fees AND pay for your meal (yeah still not getting that one---and what's the monthly fee for?) then stay away. Please get sucked in. If you still need more proof go to google and type in "events and adventures scam"

The concept of Events and Adventures is awesome, but I wonder the veracity of their sales presentation.  Has anyone been in their events in South Florida?  How old are the participants?  How in shape are the participants?  How much fun is it? What about the participants looks? Are the participants professionals? Friendly?  What type of people are those members that participate in the social events?

All I have read so far is that they are a scam with pushy marketing strategies & rude sales reps, that they do not deliver what they offer during the sales/screening appointment and get angry if you do not buy their memberships.  Why are so many people trying to get rid of their memberships?  They claim to have been in business for so many, many years.  How have they managed to do so with such a poor professionalism and deceiving potential successful members?

I was tempted to join, but after reading all the reviews, I am skeptical.

I just had a phone call from E &A ... and thank you all for your insight ... helped me make my descion .... Company is a great idea but what average person is going to pay $1500 to meet pple???  not me .. not that desperate  LOL

They keep calling me everyday 2-3 times. It wont stop.

they call and call and call everyday of the week and using a couple of different numbers.  I too only wanted some brief info.  Now I can't get rid of them!  Any suggestions?

Becky, have you filed a complaint with the BBB? I am in the process of doing that as they refuse to refund my money for the same reason you have. I wish we could get in contact but I do not want to post my personal info here...
