They said is Century Credit and dont give any more info.
A man named Derrick Allen called my uncle's house teling them that i had given him their number as a contact number wouldnt say what company he was calling from and that it was urgent he get in contact with me. i called his a** back reamed him a new one and reported him to the FTC.
They call, at different times of the day and never leave a message.
Yup, good ole Taryn called my unpublished land line. She said that my brother gave my number as a way to get in touch with him. She gave me her number: 425-740-5540. Sounded like she was a friend of my brothers. I asked what she was calling in regards to and she immediately said "honey, he'll know what it's about". Now I will NOT answer any calls from Everett WA!
3rd party debt collection company
A lady named Teryn just called me on my cell phone, when I stated that the person she wanted to speak to wasn't around, she then told me that the person gave her this cell phone number (she asked for me by my first name which I NEVER use so I knew it wasn't legit, I also knew that I never gave her my number...I would remember such a name as Teryn) she wouldn't say what it was in regards to but gave me the number to have the person call back. Figured I'd google and see if this was something crazy or not or if anyone else had had this experience...now I know, thanks to all who have posted in regards to this, it really helps! Take care and beware!
Called looking to speak to my Mother. When she asked what it was about, they told her: "You know what this is about. This is about you not paying your bills." She was offended by this and hung up.
Come on, if you are a legit company, the least you can do is answer a question with a direct answer and not start insulting someone. If you are a stand up individual like my mother, having a debt collector call you, first time in her 61 years of life, you would ask why they were calling.
Isn't there any way to police these scumbags?
A lady named Teryn called me looking for someone that might live next door to me. She knew my first an last name even though I am only listed by my initials in the phone book. She also knew who my neighbors are an the business name they own. They are not listed in the phone book. Kinda scarey. Next time I will let my answering pick up.
They're calling cell phone numbers, where we have to pay for the call now.
Called back from a land line, and when I asked for a supervisor, the girl hung up on me.
TOTAL SCAM -- Century Credit. These people called and left a message "Hi Mike, it's Michele," implying this was a personal call from a personal friend. Turns out, it is a disreputable outfit operating under the name "Century Credit."
