keep getting phone calls at work

I got a messae from someone with an Indian dialect named Albert.  He said, in broken English it is important that you call me back, if I do not hear from your lawyer or you I can only wish you luck.  I do not have anything outstanding.  I am not returning this call.  This sounds fraudulent to me.

I have also been getting harassing phone calls at work for past two weeks on and off attempting to get to go to court regarding supposedly a debt I owe to a payday loan company. I have gotten several representing different companys, such as federal legistlative, Federal Law & Hargett Law. All have been of Indian descent!

I just got a call from a Mack Laubricant with Federal Law Office he said he was from Washington DC. Regarding an loan I had via email. I told the guy I did not even have an checking account and I would call my lawyer. He said then I would be picked up tomorrow by an Restitution Team. I said ok where am I at then if I am going to be picked up? He wouldn't answer me.

I also got a call from a guy with a very badly broken English speech. He had an Indian accent. He called me 11/10/09 @ 5:501 pm. He told me it was very important, blah, blah, blah. Wanted to speak to me or my attorney. Oh, and my caller ID said it was a call from 05261450. It was blocked. hehehe. Stupid collectors. I don't owe anyone anything and the guy said I had to call him back at 425-998-0479. Right, like that's going to happen. The idiot left a voice message too. I am keeping the recordings for future use.

Some guy with an accent sounded Indian supposedly Mike called me from 4259980479 and said all the same stuff to me too, have me or my attorney call them back and if I don't he wishes me luck in the future because I will need it, then he called again about a month later and started saying the same thing but then started speaking in his own language, but in the midst of it I heard I want to f*ck you and weird stuff like that. What do I do, I feel threatened and do not like this at all. This all happened within the past month of October 2009.

Left a message in a broken English.

They. Threatened. My telling me they were going to rape me in front of my kids! Going to break my husbands c***" what ever that means. All kinds of messages left on answern machine. Saying that!

I received a call from the same people threatening to take me to jail if I didn't pay on a defaulted payday loan. Problem is, I don't have a defaulted loan!!  I work for the District Attorney's office, so I discussed this with a few people in the office. This is definitly a SCAM!!  I am filing a report with the FBI. What's funny is when I called these people back and told them that I was reporting their scam to the FBI, they immediately hung up .... I don't think they will be calling me again!!

I keep getting calls at work and on my cell and they are calling my friends as well.  They threaten to talk to my boss and higher authorities at my work if I don't call back.  I had all of my credit cleared and have no more debt.  How can this stop?  This is ridiculous and has to stop!

I also got this caller. He spoke with an Indian accent. He also said I was in trouble, blah, blah blah. A bunch of nonsense. I don't owe anyone anything. He left me a message to call back which I am not going to do. I am keeping the recordings for my records. It is obviously a scam. The caller ID read 052261450. Do not fall for this scam. The idiot called me at work.

I recieved a call today from alex watson at the federal lawfirm out of washington d.c. He claimed I was in major legal trouble and had a copy of the affidavit and case number from the creditor, payday loans, who is taking me to court. I was very worried and concerned, even called the local authorities but I now realize it's a scam and they have already continued to call me but I refuse to pick up the phone. Thank you to everyone on here who has shared their story about this stupid scam.

Okay, I just got this same phone that everyone has been getting, what the hell is that. They are telling me that they are going to send out someone to pick me up from my job, and that I should be ready to pay over 5k to the courts for some payday loan back in 2008, which I don't even do payday loans....

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AT WORK LATELY. 2 WEEKS A AGO I WAS GETTING PHONE CALLS FROM A CATHY WOODS FROM FEDERAL LEGISLATIVE FOR A PREVIOUS PAYD DAY LOAN I DEFAULTED ON. SHE CALLED ME 4 TO 5 TIMES A DAY 5 DAYS A WEEK AT WORK SAYING I SOUNDED LIKE A GENUINE PERSON AND THAT I NEED PAY THIS DEPT OUT OF COURT. IF NOT THERE WILL BE AND OFFICE COMING TO MY WORK OR HOME TO ARREST ME FOR FRAUD.  I INSISTED ON PROOF OF ANY DEBT DUE SUCH AS COURT ORDERS FOR COURT DATE OR INVOICE SHOWING DEBT. THEY REFUSED! SAID I NEED TO HAVE MY ATTORNEY CONTACT THEM AND THEY WOULD DO SO! SHE STOPPED CALLING ME FOR A WEEK WHEN I ASKED FOR AN ATTORNEY TO CONTACT ME! IT STOPPED FOR A WEEK, THEN YESTERDAY I GET ANOTHER PHONE CALL FROM THE SAME 425# DIFFERENT PERSON NAMED MAC, THOUGH ALSO OF INDIAN DESCENT THOUGH, HARRASSING ME AGAIN. I ASKED TO SPEAK TO AN ATTORNEY AND DID NOT GET A PHONE CALL BACK UNTIL TODAY FROM SAME PERSON BUT ACTING AS AN ATTORNEY BY THE NAME OF BOB BAREN WITH FEDERAL LAW FIRM. OH YEAH MAS WAS SUPPOSEDLY FROM HARGETT LAW FIRM YESTERDAY. ALL THESES CALLS HAVE COME FROM THE SAME 425#. THEY HAVE STOPPED TEMPORARILY SINCE MY HUSBAND CALLED THEM 40 TIMES AND THEY TURNED AND THREATNED TO CHARGE HIM WITH PHONE HARRASEMENT! HAS ANYBODY DONE ANYTHING TO STOP THESE PEOPLE?

THIS IS NOTHING BUT A SCAM!!!! I received my first call from them in Jan 2009. I reported this to the local & federal authorities.  Apparently this scam is STILL going on because I was called today! DO NOT SEND $$$ or believe the BS they feed you.  FREEZE all of your info accordingly!!!!!!!  I have no idea HOW the heck they got ALL of my info (ss#, Bank accnts#, address, ph numbers, etc) but they did.  One day if enough of us report this company it will come back on them and THEY will be the ones charged.

They can't send you to jail for not paying a debt.  It is a violation of federal law to threaten that.

I've had the same thing. They called (Broken English) say I'm going to be arrested if I don't pay this today. I need to fax a letter and set up a payment. I was on the phone for a half hour and thought it was a scam, but they had lots of my info. They told me if I hang up I will be arrested and in big legal trouble. I did set up a payment and then hung up and looked this up. Once I saw it was a scam I filed a fraudulant charges with my bank and got my money back. They called me back today I told them I have talked to Secret Service and FBI and this is a scam. She went on about my loan. I told her if she calls again I will have charges for telephone harrassment. I looked up the number and its a land line from Bellvue Washington. When they tried to take the money from my bank it came through as www.loantoloan.co.uk  I looked this up and its a fake company in the UK but the website domain is in Germany. SCAM!!!!

I get about 20-30 calls a day from these people. they have a bunch of personal information (ssn, references, cell phone number...) They threaten to go to court and always say their lawyers are there waiting for payment and a fax with a reason why i did not pay my loan. I felt this was a scam from the first message but i had to be sure. I've been to jail and plan to never go back so when im threatened i take it seriously. this kind of crap needs to stop. they call me from unknown numbers and a 5-226-1450 number with a call back number of 425-998-0479 i have spoke to mike woov(however you spell his name) and speaks very poor english. always insists that im in trouble and he belives im a genuine person. he says that a lot. im really glad i found this and other sights saying they're getting the same type of phone calls, or i may have given them my money.

They called me at 10:30 this morning from a #052-261-450(not even a full #). I didn't recognize it so I didn't pick up. I figure, if it's important, they'll leave a message. They didn't. Again, I got a call from the weird number and again, I did not answer. This time they left a voice message. They needed me or my retained attorney to contact him. He said his name is Bob Harris but sounds like he's from the mid-east. He said if he doesn't hear back from me or my attorney today, "may God bless me as the situation unfolds on me."
Funny thing is, I know this is a scam because.... I HAVE NO LOANS out other than my student loans that I have not defaulted on because I've been paying on time every month.
It's really sad that they do this to people.
If you get this DON'T EVEN BOTHER calling back.

I've received two calls from this guy stating that I defaulted on a payday loan and that I am in huge legal trouble.  He told me on friday that if I don't give him my information and my attorney's information then I will be arrested today and taken to court.  Scary part is that he knew some of my information from past payday loans such as references...I have put alerts out on my SSN as I believe they may have it...When I called him out on this and asked for his name, his supervisors name, his return phone number and the name of his company, he started to scream at me and threaten me and tell me that I am in huge legal trouble.  I told him that I knew this was a scam and told him to quit calling me at work...this guy continues to call me at work....he is relentless...I know for a fact this is a scam as the federal trade commission just released a consumer alert about this scam...they are trying to get you to wire money to them so that they supposedly do not send you to jail.  DO NOT BELIEVE THIS SCAM!!!

Got a call saying I am in big legal trouble and it is a mess.  I said I did not understand them (broken English) and I hung up.  A few minutes later my phone rang again from same person with broken English saying I better not hang up on them ever again.  I did, then they call again and I let my voice mail get it and he says my last hope is him and I better call back otherwise I am in a mess of trouble.

Did the same thing to me all day at work. Told me it was my last for him to help me. SCAM
