Dennis Perry offered to rent me a house in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Perry said he couldn't come to Dallas for house viewing due to his job as Homeland Security in St. Petersburg, Florida. He speaks terrible broking english. Thank God he didn't get any money out of me.

Scammer.. On Rental Property on 934 Cheyenne Crk. 3 bd 2 bath house. San Antonio Texas 78258. Gives these numbers (434) 264-6612 And (210) 723-8292 And (210)-570-7253. Has the name by Dennis Perry. States he is out of the state due to his job home land security. And cant be in San Antonio Texas to show home. Also uses the website to rent his home www.gosection8.com

This is a scam,  I tracked the ip address from the email, and it came from somewhere in Nigeria. Not San Antonio, TX like the email said he was from.

SCAMMER - trying to lease home in Dallas, Texas week of June 1st 2013

SCAMMER's phone number - this guy listed a house for rent in N. Dallas on Dale Crest Drive via Craigslist; claimed his name was Daniel Custer, however, that is the name of the ACTUAL real estate agent for the property.  In his email he claimed he was employed by Homeland Security in San Antonio, and that's why the house is for rent.

And found out they didn't work!

Good thread, googled his number and came here.   Has a house listed at $1000 that should be more like $1850 in Austin.   Him having a google # tipped me off first, then the below list price, broken english, can't even spell his own job, and wants money sent for keys.  SCAM

Have any of you tried reporting to the police? He's not just a scam artist, he's a really really bad one. Almost made me nostalgic for the "realtors" in NYC who tour you through apartments they broke into.

We got scammed as well! We paid him $600...He said his name was Janet and proceeded to use a realtors name here in Amarillo for his email address. He also had me believe he was a "Christian" man! That's what is so upsetting :( I am sorry for your loss...

Well we are a part of this scam, as they scammed us out of $1400 and that is all the money we had and we have to be out of our house in 3 weeks.  This really sucks because this guy, "Matthew" even had us believing that he was a devote Christian.  We trusted a so called "Christian"man now we will be living on the streets.

You are totally right. I only answered to two posting on craigslist. One that had a 4 bedroom for $1000 (on the Moderate Housing Commission website, so I thought it was legit), and other "For Rent By Owner" on Craigslist looking for serious renters (2 bed/2 bath = $1,400 per month).
