I also receive calls, but do not answer.  Who is it ???  I put my number on the "do not call" list, but apparently to no avail !

I have received 2 calls from this number-one on New Year's Eve and one at 8:00 this morning. I will hear talking in the background but nobody answers when you say "hello" and "is anybody there?" repeatedly. This is really annoying, especially early in the morning. If you're strong enough to dial someone's number, you're strong enough to face up to them. These people are cowards. Someone should teach them some manners and common courtesy.

Any number that's UNKNOWN, UNAVAILABLE, a STATE NAME or just anything not from my calling area gets to hear what my wife's TTY sounds like over the phone. Think of listening to a fax machine only louder.

Keep a spreadsheet of Caller ID, phone #, Date, Time and what happened if they got past the TTY. File complaint when I get sick of making entries. Got 3 or 4 snail mails from the FCC saying they took on the case. Calls from that number stop most of the time. Get one or two, so I file an amendment to the original complaint.

Hell, other than my mortgage and a few local credit cards (which are up-to-date on payments) I don't owe anyone anything. All the calls from someone else with same last name. Thank God it's not Smith or Jones. Always a computer rarely something breathing. Up to 993 entries.

I've getting the calls daily with a recording asking for a person that doesn't live here to contact them.  I just reported them to the FTC.

The DNC list wont protect you here.  You must send an order to cease contact as this is a collection agency.  Some recorded british voice says they are ARS, and state its important that someone get back. Dont get me wrong, should could be satan, but its most probably a collector, and satan wouldnt respect the DNC list either..

I got a call from this number, and it left a message. It was a woman having a conversation with someone else about how she voluntarily surrendered her vehicle and now they are garnishing her wages from Family Dollar. (for $46,000 dollars!) I called it back but got no answer. Wow...a real rocket scientist there.

Got a call from this number, answered the call, and a rude female voice said goodbye.  Called the number back, 434-480-4206 and got a busy signal.  I then called 434-480-4200 and a women answered, "Van Rue, how may I help you?.  The calls are coming from Van Rue Credit Company (collection agency) in Skokie, Illinois.

Calls once a week from this number. all that is said when answered is "Goodbye" in a negative tone.

THEY KEEP CALLING EVEN THOUGH I HAVE PUT MY NUMBER IN TO THE "DO NOT CALL" LIST QUITE A WHILE AGO.

Its an automated collectors voice, identifying herself as ARS but they dont tell you the name.  I think it's Automated Recovery Service.  If all you hear is "goodbye" their system isnt working right...She said they had an important call for (name$), and its not a marketing or sales call, the typical call back or die message from a collector......Granted she may be Satan but I was at church this week so its most probably acollection agency.....

the same as (auto repair) when i picked up and said hello a female in a rather bitchy voice said (GOODBYE) and calling her back gets a busy tone or no answer

I just got a call at 2:16PM EST. I hear a rough "goodbye" and it hangs up.

Redialing gets me a busy signal. Who is this?
