I got the same call. I questioned him. He said his name is Agent David Freeman. His Badge number is 2824 and he works in Lynchburg, Va. I could hardly understand him because he was on speaker phone and had an Hispanic accident. He started screaming at me telling me I was working with the drug cartel. He told me he was going to contact the district attorney, and I would be indicted. He didn't seem to know the difference between district attorneys and U.S. attorneys. Although he had information on my old address (where this package was allegedly intercepted in 2009), he did not know my current address. He ended up hanging up on me when I pressed him to tell me my date of birth, my current address or my driver's license number or any piece of information that would prove he has access to government records and not just some obviously old mailing list.

THIS NUMBER CALLED ME SAME AS GOTO GAL...I CALL CHGO FBI AND DEA PLUS THE CHGO POLICE.  THE DEA IS LOOKING INTO THE NUMBER AND ALSO SAID IT IS A SCAM.  YOU ALL TAKE HEED TO GOTO GAL...HANG UP DO'NT CONFIRM ANY INFO AND PLEASE DON'T SEND ANY MONEY.

Same as what happened with goto gal - turned number into FBI and into local drug enforcement task force....let's see how they like it

call your local law enforcement to make them aware. this is a scam. Police do not collect fines that is something imposed by a judge upon convincting someone on a legitimate case. NEVER give anyone your info. If the cops wanted you they would not drop you a line.

Oh this is a new scam.  Haven't dealt with this one yet.

Man with an accent claimed to be DEA agent, put him on hold for 5 minutes while I googled the number, then I hung up on him.  He immediately called again, I hit ignore.  He promptly called a 3rd time.  I answered he again identified himself as a DEA agent.  I told him I didn't believe him.

He then told me customs confiscated a package with my name and address that contained controlled substances and asked if I was aware of it.  Nope I told him.  He then told me I was going to jail today.  I said thanks for the warning, you guys don't normally tell us ahead of time when we will be arrested.  He promptly hung up and hasn't called back.

The accent sounded south african.  Don't let these people rattle you into sending them money in order to make the charges go away.
