I rented a car from Alamo a week before receiving a call from this number on a Sunday night. I didn't answer and they left no message.

I rented from National. National and Alamo were recently purchased by Enterprise.

Me too.  Just got back from a holiday trip and rented an Enterprise car while I was there.

I didn't answer; no VM left.  I rented from Enterprise Rent-a-car just last week.  So I suspect it was the follow-up survey that everyone has posted about.

I got a call from this number tonight. I did not answer due to the late time! I did not rented a car from Enterprise but I rented a car from National this week. Very annoying!!

Rec'd a call from this number, missed the call. They didn't leave a message. We did just recently have a rental van from Enterprise. Thanks for the posts, don't like to use up my cell phone minutes on unimportant calls.

Just got a call from the 434-878-9942 number, I've been renting Enterprise cars over the last few weeks due to my numerous visits to the Honda dealer, I didn't pick up nor did they leave a message, but that makes sense now. Just Googled the phone no. and found this thread.

I saw call come in a couple of days ago, but did not answer.  They called again tonight, and I picked up.  The fellow identified himself with Enterprise Rent-a-Car, and asked me just two questions about how my last rental with them went.  So this is a legitimate call, although I agree it would be nice if they left a voicemail stating the reason for the call.  My bank's customer survey company does that.

Same story here, got a free rental through Enterprise and now getting this number calling me. Pretty shady to use your contact# for marketing surveys.

received a call from this number as well, called the number back and it was a marketing research number.  I had just returned a car rented from Enterprise.  looks like they use this research company to get information about your rental.  I called back and the automated system said that they are not breaking any laws by calling. sounds like when i signed on Enterprise's contract it probably had fine print with something to do with this marketing research company.  automated system gave 800-864-8601 to call and be removed from their call listing.

Same thing... receive many calls from this number and 4357504933.  No messages, no name.  I did have an insurance claim on my car recently.

I called the Enterprise rental office about this number; agent said he knew that random calls were made by a 3rd party outfit in about 7 - 10 days after a contract closes.  He knew that they are often regretably made at unacceptable times and that if there is no answer, no message is left.  He could not confirm the name Merit or Merrit or any phone numbers.

Thanks for the heads up.  I was also in an accident and rented a car with Enterprise.  Can anyone tell me if the calls will go away?  I gave Enterprise, my insurance company and the my repair shop my cell number because its always with me but I will not answer a number I do not know from my cell even if I have roll over minutes I never use.

missed a call from this number on a Sunday afternoon, left no voice mail.  Previous reference to Enterprise is useful as I also rented from Enterprise last week resulting in an unsatisfactory (to me) customer service issue.

This is Merit Research.  Doing service surveying. Probably associated with Enterprise or something with auto insurance claims.  I was just in a few car accidents recently and had to rent a car.

I rec'd a call from this number tonight and called it back and it says it is Merrit Research. They call people to get their opinions on products and services for their clients. That's all it is. Just a product research company.
