Ugh....I feel your pain with these people!!!!   I am ready to say "no one here by that name - stop calling".....

They have been calling relentlessly for about a month now - I come home and my phone is loaded with calls from them and then they continue to call until around 9pm...it's really, really annoying.  I am so sorry I even donated $$$ to them, because now they think it's ok to hound me.  Guess what?  Since I am very bothered by this, they are getting nothing from me.

They are now trying a new technique.  I saw it was ADA and when the answering machine picked up, they waited a couple of seconds and then started saying "hello, hello, hello, Mrs. Sanders, hello.  She then hung up.  If I hadn't known it was ADA, I probably would have answered when they said my name.  Don't fall for it.

Nuisance calls never anyone on the other end. Sure wish someone would put a stop to it.

I get called from this number several times a week. I've picked it up twice and there is no answer. I called the number back  and it says American Diabetes Association. What can be done to stop these calls?

These people call at least once a day, from different numbers. This morning they called before 8:30 a.m. Caller ID says Ada. I tried answering once, but no one was on the line. So now I just hang up immediately. They are relentless, whoever they are, and are breaking the law!

Please stop these calls.  I do give to the ADA once per year but I never answer these calls and they are just irritating.

Finally got someone to talk to me when I answered the call.  The caller stated that he was not asking for money, just looking for someone to stuff and distribute or mail envelopes in the fall, presumably for the purpose of fundraising for the ADA.  I declined; we'll see if the calls stop.

STOP CALLING, ESPECIALLY AT 8 A.M.

Have seen this number many times on my caller ID.  It never leaves a message. How can I stop it?

Receive calls daily from this number and other all listing as ADA on my caller ID.  No one is there if you answer the call and they never leave a message.  This is harrassment.  I hope that once the culprits are identified they are prosecuted to the fullest extent possible.

I called the number and, like others, received the recording claiming it was the American Diabetes Association.  I will contact the actual ADA and ask if this number is an agency that is any way connected to it.

I have received two phone calls from 434-878-9983 asking for my deceased husband who has been dead for 10 years.

First they called me by my divorced name and then asked for my ex-husband. How would they even have gotten my number?

Get calls from this 434-878-9983 ADA. I don't answer and they don't leave a message. Very annoying when these calls happen many times every day. WISH I could report or stop them.

Called on Sunday and left no message.  Didn't recognize number, but got one yesterday too, different number but both indicate American Diabetes Assoc.  Can't believe they would call on Sunday!!  I am reporting number to do not call.gov .

ANOTHER ADA NUISANCE CALL THIS MORN. Our new tactic whenever we see them on the Caller I.D. readout: QUICKLY PICK UP THE PHONE RECEIVER AND SLAM IT HARD. DO THIS 2-3-4 TIMES, UNTL THEY "GET THE MESSAGE."

Do not be fooled.  This is a telephone porn site and you should report it to the police as I did.

First of all - I'm not an ADA supporter and I would not take a newsletter or anything else from your non-law abiding organization.  Did you read some of the comments on the links I sent?  It is not one person that has labeled you a nuisance.  It is the manner in which you do business which includes calling all hours from different numbers, waking people up, making crank calls, etc.  When someone answers and someone hangs up, that is a crank call and is subject to applicable laws.  Just in the last two days I've gotten two calls.  One from 571-261-0106 at 1:43 PM yesterday June 12, 2011 and today (6/13) from 434-878-9983 at 10:12 AM,  All calls are being reported to the authorities,  If  (xxx) xxx-xxxx is not removed immediately, I am referring the matter to my attorney for further action and you can offer the judge newsletters or anything else. We need to remove organizations like yours and ensure that hard working citizens don't have to suffer from an organization that provides no value to society.

WHY are these people harassing Americans year after year like this and NOTHING IS BEING DONE TO STOP IT? WHY would Amer. Diab. A**. "HIRE" idiots like this, who obviously are just racking up CALL-CREDITS and have no intention to actually TALK to you when you answer the phone and they never leave a message on the machine?

In our case, we have a family member with Stage IV lung cancer and we receive many medical-related calls and cannot afford to miss important calls; this type of phone HARASSMENT is STRESSING US OUT and is intolerable and we want to see everyone harassed by these people help us to STOP IT! Why is it even LEGAL for this outfit to act like this??

We will NEVER EVER DONATE to any organization that harasses people via telephone (or door-to-door) in this manner!

Our next step will be to try to get TELEPHONE COMPANY TO BLOCK THESE CALLS, but why should people who are already overwhelmed with medical problems be subjected to this type of OUT AND OUT ABUSE?

They called me...and after seeing on these posts that you could call them and remove yourself from their calling list, that is what I did.  I hope it works!  We'll see within the "30 days" allowed by the federal government.

I have been getting calls almost daily.  No one answers when I pick up. I phoned the number and received a recording from the American Diabetes Assn. saying they've been trying to reach me and will call back! No thanks! I went to the ADA website and found a CHAT button. The person who responded to my complaint said my number will be removed within the next 5 days. We'll see . . .
