The caller sounded like a young American man, not from outside the US.

Called numerous times, left this message:
Hi Danny, This is Jesse from Zane(?) benefits and I wanted to check in with you. I saw your doing some research with us this afternoon on medical reimbursement plans, so. So, but I thought if you had speak with you to see if we could get your speed on this might work for you help answer any questions you have their stuff. My number I can be reached at is, 435240130. Again. Jesse from Zane benefits 435-2140.

Mom gave him bank name but hung up after the numbers were requested.I think they need the numbers but mom is worried.

My mother received a call from this number this morning and she spoke to two different women. They said that she would be receiving a new medical card in addition to Medicare and asked to "verify" her banking info. They asked where she banks and then tricked her into thinking that they knew her account number by going back and forth - I'll give you four and then you give me four- twice... My mother is very bright, but at 81, she can be tricked. The bank says they can't help until something is withdrawn! Any advice will be appreciated! Please don't tell me to review phone security with Mom, we have gone over it and over it! She was tricked.

My elderly aunt and uncle got a call from this number; 435 214 0554; the man had a very heavy foreign accent. He knew her name, her address, her P.O.Box #; he then stated that 'you will be receiving a new social security number soon.. He stated that he needed, her present social security # and her banking information. Also he wanted the information on her spouse. My aunt hung up on him, and within 1 minute he called back on phone # 8132010456. He stated 'you do not understand the government needs this information. Again my aunt hung up on him.

Indian accent said from a medical company. Told them I wouldn't talk to them and hung up. Getting sick of these calls. Have put my number on govt, don't call list

the call ask for my bank name and account number, I said no thanks the FREE discount card. There must be some way to get to these scammers that is legal.

My mother received 3 calls from this company telling her they had her new medical card and wanted her bank information.  She said to them, "I supposed you need my social security card number too?"  She told them they weren't getting it and hung up on them.  

The first time was a man with a foreign accent who got mad at her when she objected.  A woman called today and then the man called again at 5:22pm.  She told him to never call her again.

My comments are pretty much the same as the others -- a woman with an Indian accent said they were sending medical cards to seniors all over the country.  We verified my name and address but when she asked me for my bank information, I hung up in her face after saying "do you think I'm stupid?"  It looks like  too many elderly are falling for this, so I warned my mother and told her to warn her senior friends.

I CONSTANTLY RECEIVE CALLS  FROM UNKNOWN NUMBERS AND HAVE LEARNED LONG AGO TO "JUST DON'T ANSWER" !!!!  IF IT IS A LEGITIMATE CALL, THEY WILL LEAVE A MESSAGE. THANK GOODNESS FOR "CALLER I.D."

Foreign accented woman called asked to verify my medicare number.  Said she was calling from a doctor's office.  When asked who she represented she hung up

This particular caller is able to get past my telephone provider?s block list every time! Pressing #01# generates an error message that the last caller was an unidentified number even though caller ID successfully displays 435-214-0554 while the phone is ringing.

Typing the number in manually will add the number to the block list, but since they seem to be fooling the telephone network into believing they are an unidentified caller, call blocking won?t work.

Sorry for such a confusing post, but this is a trend I have been seeing a quite a lot lately. Perhaps there is a telephone network specialist out there that can figure this one out.

They are scam artists, don't give them any info

They too called my 80 year old mother.  She gave them a fake bank name & told them she didn't have her checkbook to give them any info.  They told her they'd hang on while she got it.  She told them she couldn't walk & was alone and wasn't going to get the checkbook.  They then said, "Oh God" then hung up.  She said it sounded like there were several others in the background of this idiot.  I called our county sheriff and turned them in.

I received a call today from a male person with an indian accent requesting by bank numbers to verify a new medicare card to be sent out.  Said that everyone will be receiving new medicare cards.  Who are these people??  Said he was from the National Medical Office

My mother got a call from this number requesting her bank info. Luckily she didnt give it to this scammer. The number doesnt accept phone calls.

I too have had the call regarding a senior medical ID card..
She wanted to know my bank account number after CLEVERLY giving me the routing number on my account...
I told her I may be elderly but NOT stupid... she hung up!!!!

Received a call telling me they would send me a new medicare card.  Asked which bank received my SS check.  I said "you should know that" and they immediately hung up.  Female caller with heavy foreign accent.

Received three calls today.  First two advising I am receiving a new medicare card and wanted to verify my mailing address.  When I inquired where they were calling from they hung up.  Third call advising they were calling regarding my health records, when I asked for a supervisor they hung up;

This person called and wanted the numbers from my check!  I hung up!  He probably would have cleaned out my bank account!

These people just called my elderly parents & they HAD their checking account number and asked them to verify it (which the young caregiver did, thinking they were legit) and started asking all kinds of questions and said they wanted to send them a new card, etc.  The caregiver then got scared and hung up, then called me right away.

This same indian guy just called my parents number and was enquiring all sorts of information, stating that a new medical card was going out to all medicare people.  He didn't get around to asking for her ss # as she kept telling him, I want a letter in writing and he tried talking his way out of it, after asking for a letter in writing for the 3rd time he hung up.  Gee, mysteriously, I called this number back and no answer.

My neighbor is getting calls from this number - they say they have to update her medical card.
Then ask for her bank account information.

A male caller (May 21, 2012) with an accent called my elderly parents said they were from the Social Security and needed to send them out new ss cards and needed to verify their account numbers and wanted to know about their ss check.  Nothing was given out.  I called the number the next day and the number has been disconnected.  My parents contacted the police and also the bank.

Caller said he was from the IRS.  We recently found out my mother in law had someone fraudulently file taxes under her social security.  He wanted to verify her account so they could deposit her refund.  How did they know she was a victim of fraud?

This same indian guy called a couple of times, 3rd time I answered.  He said something about a medical card.  I told him several times I couldn't understand what he was saying.  Then he said "are you going to die today or tomorrow?"

I'm 66 but that doesn't make me an idiot.

We got the call today -- same scam -- person with a very heavy accent, calling from a noisy room, claimed to be sending a new government medical card and wanted to verify my husband's name, address, phone number and bank account number. I interrupted and asked what agency she was calling from, and of course she immediately hung up. Tried dialing the phone number twice and got a recording saying the number could not be connected as dialed. So it is not a real phone number, or they have set it up to make incoming calls impossible and their base of operations untraceable. I suspect it is all being done by hackers operating outside the USA. Vile!

My mother in Michigan received a call from a man with a heavy accent.  He wanted to send her a new medical card, but needed her bank account info.  Fortunately, she had misgivings after she had started to give out some info, and hung up.  The caller kept calling back.  She wouldn't answer.  She called her bank immediately and they have flagged her account and put a hold on it.  Scum bags need to be caught!

A friend got this call, saying they were sending out new Medicare cards and needed her bank account number.  He had a foreign accent.  She's pretty sharp, didn't fall for it, then called to tell me.  I will alert our group of retired teachers and announce it at our Senior Center tomorrow.
